Bowing to a foreign power is against protocol.

It is a display of fealty to a foreign potentate. It violates centuries of American tradition of not deferring to royalty.

This is yet another example of obama's inexperience.

I agree but what can you expect when we have a president who doesn't even have experience of running a corner store, let alone the most powerful country in the word.

And yet it was all cool when Bush would hold and kiss their hands:?

It was a lead-up to what later that night what the oil industry was going to do to the country as a whole. :P

[QUOTE="Omni-Slash"]IT's rediculous....as an elected leader he represents us....bowing to foriegn leaders is completely wrong....bowing is not respect....it subserviance........I don't expect other countries to bow to us...nor do I expect our leader to bow to another country....Famiking
We bow to Queen Elizabeth the Saudi King should be treated no less. And good god, it's not like this is bad in anyway, there are no disadvantages to what he has done except crazy conservatives saying stupid things.

wrong.....we don't....and he didn't.....like I said....no president should bow before another leader just as no other leader should humble himself to our president......it's respectful because you are humbling yourself before a greater power.....that's at issue....

Or maybe "humbling yourself before a greater power" is just a western interpretation of it?

Wow people here will argue about anything. To be honest don't really see a big issue here, Obama is very strange so i'm never surprised by the things he does.

Get over it.

Over the span of Bush's administration, he practically got to second base with him.
