The grammatical errors in that article lead me to question its validity. In any case, don't worry Britons. We'll send him home in a couple years.

I remember a few years ago (9/11 issue) when France was despised by the US and some restaurants were calling French fries "Liberty fries," oh well, c'est la vie...

The very well known top list is Canada, Britain, then Japan. (in that order).

This, I don't even know.

'We don't have a stronger friend and stronger ally than Nicolas Sarkozy, and the French people.'

This quote in no way implies that France is a greater ally than the UK. It only implies that France is an equal ally.

Calling him ignorant when you cannot possibly know the full scope of his reasoning is just ironic.

Your comment is frankly laughable. Let's not be critical of any political decision seeing as we aren't privy to the complete intricacies of said politicians reasoning. If President Obama did not want to be criticised then he should have explained his reasoning to us all.

I stand corrected then.. But then again what difference really make, this seems like a pretty trivial thing to get outraged over.. Then the argument of upsetting allies.. These countries governments are not high school teenagers that get hurt over a supposed betrayal of friends.. The countries have ties that are far deeper then a simple statement like that..

Yeah thats the reason why I think he did it.. To get France on the US side.. They have been the main person on the UN security council to oppose the United States all the time.. In all honesty I think its a pretty trivial matter.. The countries depend off one another economically to prosper.. What he said isn't going to change that one way or the other..

Diplomatic relations are tricky. There are ways to compliment one country without looking like you are disrespecting others. Perhaps that is what you get when you elect inexperienced figure heads. I don't know. I don't think it's due to a lack of intelligence on his part. So I'll go with inexperience.

I'm angry because far more British blood has been spilt over Afghanistan then has French blood. I'm angry because the British have been far more dedicated and commited to this war than the French. I am well aware that the UK willingly chose to enter the war, but for the sacrifice of our soldiers to be downplayed is something that is deeply immoral, and deeply upseeting presumably to the families of dead soldiers.

yeah, but no, but yeah, but you see what happened was David Cameron was having this classy party and and he invited Barack Obama, and Nicolas Sarkozy was there as well, and they all had their wives there, and Michelle Obama was like "oh my god, I have nothing good to wear" and Sarkozy's wife was like "I know this great place", so they went shopping and Michelle found this dress and she's like "oh my god it's beautiful, but pricey, I don't know, does it make my butt look fat", and it didn't make her butt look fat, but Carla Bruni was all like "I don't think you should get it, it makes you look skanky", and Michelle knew Bruni was jealous so she got it anyway, and she was like the Belle of the ball and Carla Bruni was like so jealous because she though Nicolas had his eye on her, anyhow, Michelle drank too much champaign and was like sick in the bathroom forever, and someone invited Anna Kournikova and she drank too much champaign too, and she thought Sarkozy was Enrique and they were in the wine cellar making out for like ever, and Kournikova left lipstick all over Sarkozy's collar, so anyhow Obama is talking to David Cameron and like Carla Bruni is like "where the hell is Michelle and Nicolas", and like coincidentally Michelle comes out of the bathroom looking like a wreck, and Sarkozy comes back with like lipstick all over him, and Carla Bruni is like "I knew it!", and she attacks Michell and there's like this big fight... anyhow so David Cameron is like "just so this doesn't hurt relations, just declare that France is your country's best ally, that'll cool things down", and that's where we are now

yeah, but no, but yeah, but you see what happened was David Cameron was having this classy party and and he invited Barack Obama, and Nicolas Sarkozy was there as well, and they all had their wives there, and Michelle Obama was like "oh my god, I have nothing good to wear" and Sarkozy's wife was like "I know this great place", so they went shopping and Michelle found this dress and she's like "oh my god it's beautiful, but pricey, I don't know, does it make my butt look fat", and it didn't make her butt look fat, but Carla Bruni was all like "I don't think you should get it, it makes you look skanky", and Michelle knew Bruni was jealous so she got it anyway, and she was like the Belle of the ball and Carla Bruni was like so jealous because she though Nicolas had his eye on her, anyhow, Michelle drank too much champaign and was like sick in the bathroom forever, and someone invited Anna Kournikova and she drank too much champaign too, and she thought Sarkozy was Enrique and they were in the wine cellar making out for like ever, and Kournikova left lipstick all over Sarkozy's collar, so anyhow Obama is talking to David Cameron and like Carla Bruni is like "where the hell is Michelle and Nicolas", and like coincidentally Michelle comes out of the bathroom looking like a wreck, and Sarkozy comes back with like lipstick all over him, and Carla Bruni is like "I knew it!", and she attacks Michell and there's like this big fight... anyhow so David Cameron is like "just so this doesn't hurt relations, just declare that France is your country's best ally, that'll cool things down", and that's where we are nowlamprey263

I can only imagine what the other countries will do to compete. Will they create another giant statue for us to compete with the statue of liberty? It would be pretty neat but how many giant statues do we really need? Pay off our debt? That would be very helpful, but perhaps too materialistic to make for a truly great gift. In all honesty I can't even guess what other countries are going to do to win France's place as America's best ally.

I think they have a pretty good government and army so I think it will be pretty good move. But we have other allies as well.

Misleading title is misleading.

Eight pages and it doesn't look like too many people actually read what he said
