Regardless McCain wont win. Many dont even know of her and McCain only talked to her 1-2 days before deciding :| This was obviously a desperate attempt to grab Hilary supporters. Also she clearly stated she doesnt know what a V.P does :|. She has a skankie picture on the web that will quickly come into question and she loves to kill animals. Man, I cant wait for the debates!Tjeremiah1988

Proof? Were you there for the only 2 days McCain talked to Palin?

And do you know how busy a Presidential Candidate can be?

It indeed will draw hilary supporters, I like how people think voters actually do research, I'd go so far to say, 50% of Hilary supporters were only voting for her because she was a woman.. And those are the people McCain is trying to reach out to.

TBoogy
Many people preferred her platform over Obama's. Especially since he hasn't much substantial to say. Change is good...yay!

Her platform IS his platform.

 No.....not quite.

Um. . . .I nitpick every little thing Obama does whenever some Obama zombie says something like "lol, McCain can't remember how many houses he haz!!"

The reason for that is to show howpeople are being hypocritical, giving Obama a free pass at evey mistake he makes but lashing at McCain whenever he says "yes" instead of "yea."

"Why should I vote for Obama" was to show that people who support Obama very rarely actually do so based on his policies, and rather just follow the crowd.

This thread isn't anti-Obama at all.

[QUOTE="halfirishhomer"]Can someone name one thing Obama's done for this country that qualifies him to be president? Pirate700

What has anyone ever done that categorically qualifies them to be president? Nothing. The best demagogue wins.

Umm, how about putting your life on the line for your country and being involved in politics since the opposition was still in school. :|

Putting your life on the line for your country isn't fungible presidential experience. Millions have done that. Does that make them qualified to lead a superpower of millions in the 21st century? Being involved in politics might facilitate maneuvering around institutional inertia and getting things done, but every president has hundreds of advisors to foster this. No president can live up to the super-human expectations of the institution of the presidency. He is nothing more than a figurehead who makes opinions based on the opinions of think tanks, interest groups, and advisors.

It's all about experience and what you have done for the country. McCain is loaded. Obama has little more crudentials for running this country than anyone posting in this thread.

Which includes you, which means your opinion doesn't really matter, right? Obama has more experience. I don't even want to argue why Palin shouldn't be a VP choice...

Atleast Palin has experience running a state or executive branch. Obama has....none. I asked this in an earlier thread and I'll ask it again, what is the President but America's Governor?

Because their "reasons" were along the lines of "he helps his landlady with the garbage." It's politically irrelevant.

The other thread did not start off as anti-Obama. . .I listed his own positions, statements and voting records and posted my opinions.

It's not close at all. It's different dealing with the interests of one state vs the fifty. Foreign policy is not like selecting a lunch menu. The military is complex, little decisions can have huge ramifications. Governor is the undergraduate degree to the Presidency's masters.

She is currently the head of the National Guard. She was also the City Manager at the same time that she was Mayor (and yes; those are separate positions). She was elected President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors by the other mayors of Alaska during her second term. EDIT: She also served on the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission and was the Chairman of the Alaska Municipal League Board. Source

Obama supporters: so I don't get accused of "teh bias" for posting more info on Palin than Obama, you're free to tell me what you'd like to have added to his profile, as long as it is politcally relevant to his leadership skills (so if he saved a kitten from a tree in 1975, I'm not putting that up).

1. Palin has more experience. She has held a wider variety of offices, she has been in politics for five years longer (beginning in 1992). 2. Palin is not running for President. She is running for Vice President. If she does end up having to take over for McCain, she will be able to add some amount of time as Vice President to her experience resume, which is already more impressive than that of Obama.

wow, are you kidding me? You're as much a blind McCain fanboy as the countless Obama fans. Less experience =/= bad president. Some of the best presidents in history were unexperienced. Lincoln anyone? You could draw many similarities between Obama and Lincoln in fact. They both want change, they're both hated for it by the blinded racists, or Neo-cons as they are now known, and are both dismissed because of "lack of experience". Since when is experience more important than judgement, intelligence, and leadership skills? Obama has a monopoly on those factors. Oh, please. I've called McCain an idiot and likened him to a sea cucumber. But he's better than Obama.

Less experience =/= bad president.

Less experience =/= good president. But this isn't the argument I'm making.

Some of the best presidents in history were unexperienced. Lincoln anyone? You could draw many similarities between Obama and Lincoln in fact.

You could draw some similarities between him and Hitler too.

They both want change,

The difference between Obama and Lincolnis Lincoln actually did something.

they're both hated for it by the blinded racists, or Neo-cons as they are now known, and are both dismissed because of "lack of experience". Since when is experience more important than judgement, intelligence, and leadership skills?

Two of which Obama is lacking. He has demonstrated terrible judgement with his choosing of peers, and he has no leadership skills beyond saying a fancy speech.

Obama has a monopoly on those factors.

What happen to you telling millions about how Obama is bad. If all you are doing is telling people in gamespot OT board about Obama not being good for America you have a lot of work ahead of you.

[QUOTE="Isbrealiompie"]Theokoth why are you so anti-obama?smarb001

I'm not.:| Do you see any bias in my poll or OP?

wow, are you kidding me? You're as much a blind McCain fanboy as the countless Obama fans. Less experience =/= bad president. Some of the best presidents in history were unexperienced. Lincoln anyone? You could draw many similarities between Obama and Lincoln in fact. They both want change, they're both hated for it by the blinded racists, or Neo-cons as they are now known, and are both dismissed because of "lack of experience". Since when is experience more important than judgement, intelligence, and leadership skills? Obama has a monopoly on those factors. On topic, however you choose to define it, Obama has more experience than Palin and will make a better president. If Obama becomes president (which is becoming more and more likely, especially with the blindingly obvious pandering to women with Palin and McCains increasingly erratic behaviour) he will probably be a great president, and if cannot acknowledge that you are obviously biased. Of course, McCain so obviously going to be an awesome president because he was a prisoner!

Obama is no Lincoln. Lincoln wasn't running on a change platform. You do a disservice to history and to Lincoln.

What experience has Obama had exactly? For the time he's been in his current position he's done nothing but run for president.:|

LJS brings up an incredibly valid point. Obama has done nothing except co-sponsor bills that were already going to pass and campaign for president. Palin has built roads, updated sewer systems, managed the growth of the fastest-growing city in Alaska (and yes, I'm aware that it's still a tiny city), and maintained the balance between getting resources and protecting wildlife in Alaska.

What are you basing that on? Palin has accomplished more, held a wider variety of offices, has executive experience, and has been in politics longer.

1. Obama only graduated from Harvard in 1991. Sorry to disappoint you, but I dont think Obama could have launched into a political career a year after graduation. Palin won a college scholarship in a beauty contest at the age of 20. She went to a small university in Idaho and majored in journalism. Obama was a leader his entire life, studied law for in Harvard, became a lecturer there for 12 years, majored in politics and minored in international relations. I'm sorry, whos more experienced?

2. I was well aware of that. And about your second point, thats like saying if Obama gets elected and serves 2 years as president, he'll have more experience than Palin :| It's completely irrelevant.

The fact that Obama has more votes shows that his supporters have no idea about the facts and/ or really don't care if their answer is correct. She has GOVERNED a state. that is a leadership position. Obama has never had ANY leadership experience. Maybe he led some street activists. Who knows? He won't let his past be known.

Do you guys think Mcain would have choose a Male VP if Obama went with Hillary. Think about it no matter how good Palin is Mcain would not have choose a female if hillary was VP for Obama. Mcain could have choose any male and he would have won based on people are not ready for a Black PR and a FeMale VP. But now that Mcain has a Female VP its all good, I wonder why.

Going to college is not political experience. Teaching in not political experience. Political experience entails accompishments and holding elected and appointed offices. Sorry.
