Lol at the irony that some people think that Jesus wouldn't support the torture of people yet it is often successful in saving lives. Thank You for reading :)Electus_Unus
Quote me one passage in the bible where Jesus sounds like he's explicitly supporting torture (in other words don't give me a vague quote that could be interpreted to mean anything).
Fact of the matter is that torture and killing are things that Jesus explicitly forbade. I mean, I could be wrong when I say this but I'm pretty sure that Jesus didn't waterboard Judas in order to get information on his impending capture and execution by the Romans. Rather Jesus treated him to dinner.
Christianity is actually a very peaceful religion when you ignore the old testament. It's a shame the religion by power hungry factions and leaders and warmongering politicians. It's amazing to see people condemn others' so called "lack of faith" or "unchristian-ness" and yet claim that God wants them to kill, inflict harm, and oppress various people in His name.
[QUOTE="AirGuitarist87"] So it's basically come down to grown ups acting like children? "He started it?" mysterylobsterNo, I'm only showing you how naive your vision of these terrorists is. If you're going to ask me to see the conflict from their perspective, at least have some basic grasp of their reasons for fighting us. This is like talking to a brick wall. A condescending brick wall, at that. If you can't see how the invasion of ANY country would effect in an uprising against the invaders, then we're done here.

Most of these extremists who plot attacks against us aren't even from countries that we've rescued. Your idea of "freedom fighters" defending their homeland is dangerously naive.

There are actually times Jesus specifically mentions torture (Matthew 18:34-35), but doesn't condemn it. Instead, he uses it as an example of God's punishment against sinners.

I'd like to see an example of this majority of terrorists who you've "rescued" (interesting choice of words, considering most will agree you've done more damage then good).
You're the one justifying torture of people "just in case" and I'm the dangerous one? Okay, whatever you say chief.
Meh. I don't hold a stance on this issue, simply because it's hard to seperate fact from fiction. All I know is that if our goverment want to torture people, innocent or otherwise, closing all of our nation's "secret prisons" won't stop them. For every gitmo closed another one will rise in it's place.
And just to clarify I don't support torture, I'm just saying our goverment will do what it wants.
