So Obama is intending on changing the gun amendment of America through an exucutive order.

Is he trying to come off as a dictator? Or is he trying to turn America into a communist country?

Good luck. The NRA is one of the best funded organizations around and they won't let anything he tries to do concerning guns stand.

Neither will the Supreme Court. Come to think of it, the House will mount an aggressive defense of the 2nd Amendment, and Democratic senators (except Reid) won't agree with Obama.

"The discussions were meant to build a broad coalition around the elements of reform Obama had outlined a day earlier in an op-ed for the Arizona Daily Star, including stronger state-to-state coordination, expedited background checks and greater enforcement of the laws already on the books, especially with regard to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System" OMG the horror

How can the background check be any more expedited? The check takes a couple of minutes and is done while you're in the store.

if he does try to unilaterally kill the second amendment it will only end really really bad for him, but i will believe he is that crazy when i see it, till then i will just continue to think he is foolish and/or naive.

That's fine, I'm still not for it. My state already has a ridiculous system for background checks. Unless what he does makes it easier for law-abiding citizens to own firearms, I'll be against any action he takes.

I'm pro ownership of guns but in some states/areas they do need to beef up their policies concerning purchase of firearms and a background check certainly would not hurt.

In MA it is so tough to get a gun license but it is still very obtainable at the same time and this is what I am use to.

i dont use any of those as sources, but something in this country will have to give at some point soon, i just doubt it will be something that will land an impeachment at best and a rebellion/the end of his life at worst.

http://amerpundit.com/2011/03/16/obama-considering-executive-orders-to-change-gun-laws/

So Obama is intending on changing the gun amendment of America through an exucutive order.

Is he trying to come off as a dictator? Or is he trying to turn America into a communist country?

this is great it doesn't even say what exactly he's trying to do so it's perfect for everyone to get pissy over!

You don't understand what information the link provides. Basically Obama is trying to change the 2nd admendment through an exucutive order. What gives him that right to change gun laws to his liking without consulting congress?

No, he's not. Not in the slightest. Also, the word is spelled "executive." Edit: Additionally, "Second Amendment"

I guess that is insignificant when compared to the possibly of a president being able to change an amendment by themselves. Even a small, one word change, bypassing all of our checks and balances. That's not how the system is supposed to work.
