Check your facts, Obama's christian. I'm not saying I want an atheist, but an ex-minister/priest/whatever is a bit much. Seeing the campaign photos with the jesus-fish in the background is very scary.

[QUOTE="elblanquito_81"]Neither. I wouldn't vote Republican due to way they've handled things the last 8 years and i wouldn't vote for Obama because the guy barely has any kind of experience running any kind of government. I'll wait and see if Bloomberg makes a run, then I'll go independent.CaptHawkeye

Am I the only person who thinks Obama's lack of government experience is a good thing? Their are some extremely nasty chains and habits going on in the government right now as a result of the veteran politicians and staff remaining in some kind of political power. They NEED to be broken.

That being said, Obama takes this easily. He still hasn't said much relating to Peak Oil buthe is CLEARLY superior to the rest of the Democratic lot and its political "wannabees".And he's MILES ahead of the Republican's half brained morons.

And what do you think will happen once he gets elected? Do you actually think he's going to come in and make sweeping changes? No. Politics don;t work like that. If he gets elected all that's going to happen is he's going to surround himself with intelligent, powerful people who know how Washington runs. People who are just like the types you mentioned that will only use him to further their own political needs and goals.

Washington is a shark-infested pool that will eat up a newbie like Obama whether he's aware of it or not.

You say that, but things change once you get in the oval office. He may represent "the people" now, but given the reoccuring precedent, I doubt that will remain true.

Nah, not really. Work: no, advice: yes. She's smart enough (was a pretty good lawyer back in her day) to make decisions on her own. Plus it's not like she sat back as First Lady, she knows her way around Washington. And having another Clinton in the White House wouldn't be so bad. Can you honestly say that the 8 years under Bill were worse than what we have now?

Its worse now but Bill did have a play into how things started going down hill. Then again BILL didn't have the family of a well known terrorist on his ranch during 9/11 either.

[QUOTE="reagan80_basic"]The best part of your post was the sig, but it still needs more Tomo. Just sayin'.CaptHawkeye

Ugh, I liked that show. But of all the characters in it, Tomo was the only one I actually despised. She's selfish, cruel, morally twisted, and socially akward. Now maybe some will complain i'm being too critical, but what can I say? Her attitude reminded me too much of people I used to know and thus hits a little too close to home for me. Everyone else was fine, even Chiyo, who I think is a vastly annoying character, is better than her. But hey, AD builds itself on a diverse cast.

On topic: I'm getting a kick out of all the people saying we should vote Republican because of the Democratic Congress recent underperformance. Just ignore how things went under the Republicans of course. But hey, the Republicans are "strong" right? They invade lots of countries at once and create all sorts of new enemies for Americans to deal with now, and 20 years into the future. It's funny how people apply the physical concept of strength to politics.

Actually I want a repubilican for a balance of powers. Democrat controlled congress + repub pres = win I say

Everybody in this election sucks, but if I had to choose between the two, I would go with Huckabee.

I personally think Obama is too young and lacks experience that the other candidates have. To me, it just seems like he was in the right place at the right time (2004 Democratic National Convention), and was named the new face of the democratic party to spread the word that he is going to bring the much needed change to America. And the thing is, everybody is eatin it up like candy, especially the younger voters.

Seriously, all you ever hear from him is how he is going to bring change to the US and end the war in Iraq, but then never elaborates on how he is going to do either. And his proof of his experiences in foreign policy was downright laughable. I mean if he thinks living in a foreign country when he was ten and younger gives him a better understanding of the foreign policy challenges facing the US, then God help us.

But again, I don't really care for anybody running for President except for maybe John McCain, but he definitely won't win.

It's hard to say... I am pretty conservative, so I appreciate Huckabee's conservative values and ideas, but he's too much of a religious fanatic/freak for me. I don't mind if candidates are passionate about their own religions, but it shouldn't get in the way of anything.

I'm not a big Obama fan, but at this point, I'd have to say that he's really the only Democrat I can tolerate...but still, I don't really agree with him on much of anything.

I might just go with Huckabee even though I don't like him anymore. I used to really like him, but ever since he got all popular (mostly thanks to Chuck Norris' endorsement), he's gotten more obnoxious.

Giuliani (or McCain) FTW!!!

I think Barack Obama would be a good President. I think if he's the Democrat on the ballot I'd rather vote for him than Huckabee or Romney. I want Ron Paul to be in the election, but I doubt that he can pull enough people together that know who he is in time. I've vote for Paul if he were on the ballot though. But, since he probably won't, I'd vote Obama.

And yeah, I'm Republican and I'd still vote Obama.

6 reasons not to vote for Huckabee

1.) He doesn't believe in evolution.

2.) Mike Huckabee believes homosexuality could pose a dangerous health risk. [1]

3.) Mike Huckabee advocated isolating AIDS victims. [2]

4.) Huckabee believes that ''The Holy Bible . . . has truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.'' [3]

5.) Huckabee freed rapists and murderers if they were born again. [4]

Pannicatack:

What do his views on evolution have anything to do with his political campaign? And links 1 and 4 don't work.

If I were an American I'd vote for Obama.

Huckabee is a religious fundamentalist who shouldn't be allowed within 100 metres of the White House.

6.) Huckabee is a misogynist who thinks "A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ." [5]

This right here is why Huckabee or any one as religiously bias as him should never be in ofice.

I don't think you could pay me enough to vote for Huckabee. I'm a Christian but he makes my skin crawl...ugh...just ugh.

Plus, I like Barack a lot. He's in like my top 3 of potentials, so I'd go for him.

Dracargen

Common sense factor, if he can't figure that out I don't want him trying to decide what to do about Iran or North Korea.
