So if get into an accident, its my responsibiltiy not to be able to pay for the follwing bills, if i get cancer its my problem, great. mulalatum
So you can afford the six or seven thousand dollar deductible that is pretty much the standard across the bronze Obamacare plans?
The average government employee makes more than the average American. DC is booming compared to the rest of the country.[QUOTE="KC_Hokie"]
[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]oh well when you put it that way it's just great.

so they can set back and relax a bit as they starve and their power gets shut off and their homes forclosed on because thay have no money.

And more than likely they'll all get paid retroactively when it's over.
why would they get paid?they didn't work.
conservatives need to make up their minds are they horrified of our imminent socialist state or are they starting it.
we are just going to hand people that did not go to work a check?
really?
I don't think they should. Government should shrink and cut spending anyway.[QUOTE="mulalatum"]So if get into an accident, its my responsibiltiy not to be able to pay for the follwing bills, if i get cancer its my problem, great. airshocker

Exactly. Average deductible for Bronze is already $5,200 with only 40% prescprition cost covered.[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]why would they get paid?[QUOTE="KC_Hokie"] The average government employee makes more than the average American. DC is booming compared to the rest of the country.

I'm just glad the government is 'shut-down' and about the size it should be normally. Government should only be made up of the 'essentials' in the first place. So if get into an accident, its my responsibiltiy not to be able to pay for the follwing bills, if i get cancer its my problem, great. If you get cancer under Obamacare you won't be able to afford the deductibles and copay for all the treatments. So if you didn't have any coverage instead of a bronze plan you'd pay....all of it? How is that scenario any better?[QUOTE="mulalatum"][QUOTE="Solaryellow"]Listening to a few of the morons on here it is perfectly acceptable to push responsibility on everyone else. Right?KC_Hokie

His point has been, if you'd bothered to read, is that Obamacare doesn't address the cost of healthcare. I don't know how any of you can try and say that it does.

Apparently it does as its projected to reduce the deficit according the CBO. That's the whole point of the individual mandate, to get more people into the insurance pool.[QUOTE="airshocker"][QUOTE="HoolaHoopMan"]So if you didn't have any coverage instead of a bronze plan you'd pay....all of it? Apparently it doesn't, since people will simply only be able to afford insurance, not actual health care.

Which doesn't negate anything I've said. ACA produces costs reduction when compared to remaining at the status quo (pre ACA), and this is ignoring that repealing it would also increase the deficit. His point has been, if you'd bothered to read, is that Obamacare doesn't address the cost of healthcare.

Yes, because the health care in this country consists of nothing but catastrophic injuries. The whole point is Obamacare doesn't address cost of healthcare. And it is causing out of pocket costs to rise even faster than the rise of healthcare. It's a royal mess. It takes a flawed system and makes it worse.

As opposed to what, deregulating everything? Of course there are flaws in the ACA, it isn't a single payer system.I understand what a deductible is. HoolaHoopMan

The entire point of the ACA is to reduce long term health care costs (as in to reduce the amount spent on it per capita and as a % of GDP). What is so surprising about a bronze plan having a high deductible? It has the lowest premium so its to be expected.[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]why would they get paid?[QUOTE="KC_Hokie"] The average government employee makes more than the average American. Looking at that pole I wont even get in this discussion, the only people that support this are uninformed, it will be a disaster and may very well cause some type of revolution. This will be the finial nail in the coffin for the us economy. Middleclass be damned. That is all I have to say.

[QUOTE="Jebus213"]Most of your arguments on this board have been based on generalizations, old bigoted beliefs, and anecdotal evidence. You want me to take you seriously and answer everything you ask me?You are just a gutless kid who can't take on the topic of personal responsibility. You're gonna be shocked when the real world comes calling though. History has shown us the results of lacking responsibility. Nowadays nothing is the individuals fault. It's always the other guy. We're all put here to be responsible for our lives and the lives of others. That's the Liberal mantra. Stupidity is constantly rewarded in America. Liberals fear personal responsibility. If you weren't so afraid of it you'd start making people responsible for their choices but you don't.
Yeah, no. I'd rather keep trolling you.
Solaryellow
The Liberal solution to everything is more government. More government means more spending (either borrowing or taxing) and more shifting of responsibility. The government has done one hell of a job during the past few decades, right? Making people do for themselves or work for what they want and need is absolutely terrifying these days.

Right?mulalatumSo if get into an accident, its my responsibiltiy not to be able to pay for the follwing bills, if i get cancer its my problem, great. Your life IS your responsibility. Life sucks at times but yes, get into an accident or develop a disease and it should be your responsibility to pay for it rather than the tax payer footing the bill. Tax payers have responsibility too you know. Why should we be burdened with even more responsibility for others who made the wrong choices in life?
Our country has lost its mind when it comes to responsibility because it is practically dead. Follow the rules, pay your taxes and honor your bills and you get penalized essentially.
Let me ask you another question. If a sixteen year old moron gets knocked up, who should be responsible for the child provided she delivers it? What is done to stop the person from having more children that are unable to be provided for? As a country we have social program after social program funded by middle class workers that end up rewarding people for stupidity.

So what is the reason for America having expensive drugs? I buy my father's insulin in Canada, because for the price of one script in Florida (with insurance) I can buy three (without insurance). Fightingfan
Because capitalism, demand, patents, etc... You make some new drug that cures or treats something, you patent it, for years you are the only one who can manufacture and sell it (legally)... So you charge as much as you want... People either pay or remain sick... It only goes down in price when the patent expires and generics come out... And even then the price only drops a little... Real life isn't like some MMO auction house where everyone undercuts each other into oblivion, eventually they just level off and both sell at similar points; they'd rather sell high with competition taking part of their business than sell low...
In order to answer that question you'd first have to understand Obamacare and considering not even the senators who voted for it had time to read or understand it I doubt any one else has seriously tried to understand the bill and all it contains. I'm thankful it allows me to still be on my parents plan though, otherwise I'd be paying fines as I cannot afford healthcare premiums and there is not free option for myself. Although if I can't find a good paying job in the next few years I may end up being fined by Uncle Sam as well as not having healthcare. ferrari2001I'm on the same boat.
It is going to be a complete disaster when it comes to funding the thing. The insurance mandate is completely redicilous and does nothing to solve the current problems with the healthcare system. The government is counting on a flood of people buying health insurance to lower the overall cost of plans. The problem is it completely defies logic because more people will pay the fine because it is cheaper. You can spend $300 a month (low ball number) to have a crappy health insurance plan or pay $95-285 a year as a fine for not having health insurance. Once people start taking the fine over the health insurance theyll have to raise the fine in the hope of pushing people to get insurance. Eventually the fine will get big enough that people will be stuck with insurance plan that they cant afford which means theyll need subsidies from Uncle Sam. Thus, it all comes full circle.
[QUOTE="playmynutz"]obamacare is the democrat's wet dreamhoola
forcing people to give their money to corporations under the guise of helping the poor and keeping grandma alive. The individual mandate is really, truly disgusting and so is every person who supports it.
