Yup, it's really happening.

Now this makes no sense. Black Friday isn't even the largest shopping day in the USA.

I've worked retail and grocery, these stores do not operate at a massive profit margin. Ever wonder why there are thousands of retail stores? It's the only way they can make real amounts of money. It makes no sense to protest these.

I've seen it myself. Store starts to slow down in sales and employees lose hours of work. I went from working 30 hours a week to about 15 one summer because it really slowed down.

How does this help their cause? Retail outlets promote competition of products, actual market economics. The 1% doesn't benifit majorly from black friday and other major retail days.

Not only is this silly, this is more proof that this Occupy movement has no clue what they are doing.

Here's a quick quote: "We are NOT anti-capitalist, just anti-crapitalist," the site says. I think that should explain it all.

No one has to use credit cards if they don't want to do so.....shouldn't consumers be given a choice?

Last week "they" tried to wreak havoc here in NY. They failed, but they did manage to piss off some "regular folk" who no longer support their "cause."

Should they try to interfere with people shopping for the holiday season, the already diminished good-will towards them of "regular folk" will decrease even further. Good luck with all that.

If someone wants to handle the logistics/deliveries, I'll totally throw in to buy a lump of coal for each and every "protester."

I can't say I have definitieve proof otherwise, but what exactly makes you say that? The documented sanitary conditions alone gives me reason to pause when I think of these ladies and gents.

As much I support reforming the financial regulatory and tax code systems and holding banks accountable for all the **** they pulled that caused this recession, I really can't support Occupy if this is the kind of stunts they're going to pull. I really wish a better, more coherent movement had sprung up instead of this hippy anarchist "we're not going to have any set demands or viewpoints" bull****. So what happened is a movement that started out with a legitimate cause has now been hijacked by morons who have no understanding of anything relevant to the discussion at hand and just make the whole movement look ridiculous. A lot of these people are just college kids who want to feel like they're part of a "revolution" or hippies who think that Occupy is a generic movement that they can use as a soapbox for all their crazy demands that have nothing to do with the economy or law. Hopefully another movement will spring up that's actually coherent and serious this time around, and which won't allow the idiots that scuttled Occupy to screw everything up again.

A lot of these protesters dont know how franchises work. Most of these stores like Target, etc. are owned by local people. Blocking their stores just hurts the local economy - many of those stores are dependent on big days like this to make most of their revenue. If you're going to protest big business, then go after big business not the little guy. But then that would require actually doing work and research instead of just blindly raging. And that would be no fun.

Yeah, they don't understand that most of the 1% don't really make money from the retail system. In fact, that's one of the areas that there is nearly no government involvement and is very competitive. It's a prime example of competition working for the best interest of the consumers/

You know it's also hilarious because unlike investements and whatnot, people are buying stuff to better their lives.

Sure it's blatent consumerism, but that's not the point here. People are going to the store to buy themsevles stuff and gifts for other people.

So causing disruptions at the retail stores where many of their fellow "99%" citizens work, causing the store to shut down early, and costing said people hours, which costs them the money they need to pay their bills and get by, is proving... what? These Flea Party hippies need to go home, they're turning me into a Republican.

So we should boycott businesses for lowering prices so that we can buy more with the same amount of money? And these people wonder why they don't get anywhere in life.
