it was good, better than the first which i almost fell asleep in, i know lots of people will bag me for that but whatever btw i think they forgot about the kraken.MAILER_DAEMON
No, the Kraken was killed by Beckett and his men at some point between the movies... you see its corpse on that one island.
Well, I saw it at 11:35 last night and absolutely loved it. :) One thing that my friend that I went to see it with noticed is racking my brain, though.
Wasn't Will Turner Jr. at the end played by the same kid who got hanged at the beginning? With the coin and everything? :?

Actually, becket says that he made davy jones kill "his pet", but now that you mention it, those kids did seem awfully similar.
I think the main problem with the movie is that you can see the whole thing coming from a mile away, but they dance around it for like 2 hours.

I could be wrong though.
I saw and enjoyed it very much. The last hour of the movie was worth ever bit of my money. The thing i actually want to say is that supposedly they left the end open for a reason. They said if they want to make another one it is certainly possible. It was everything a pirate movie should be. Go see it. You wont be dissapointed. Unlike Emo Parker 3. That movie was terrible. See it. Its good. Its a good way to end an awesome trilogy.

If you're expecting another Pirates 2 movie, don't. This film is darker than Pirates 2 was. Anyway, yes, it is worth watching.

i was dissapointed at how Sao Feng died so early. he was hardly in it and judging by the advertising, i was expecting him to be a primary charcter.

I just came back from watching it and it wasn't as good as 1 and 2. To me it was WAY to easy to take over Davy Jone's ship.

END SPOILERS

so you guys think with the ending of the movie that there will/should be a forth movie?

OK, I just went to see this film, and I decided to post a review. Some SPOILERS in here, so watch out.
Pirates 3 is overly-long, overly-complicated, and the entire plot seems to be plucked out the air by 2 drunk guys in a pub. Now don't go assuming that I just don't like the franchise. Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2 were excellent films, they were full of action, were very funny in parts, and had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. At World's End is entirely different.

First of all, the film is almost 3 hours long. Now that can be a good thing, Kong was 3 hours long and I loved it. But Pirates is paced very badly. In which I mean for the first 2 hours of the film I was almost falling asleep. It was full of very complicated story-lines and a whole load of talking, with short snippets of action thrown in every so often. The last hour of the film is a huge, epic battle between 2 ships. Its just a shame I didn't know WHY they were fighting. Apparently it was explained somewhere along the way, but I must have missed it.

Also there are some very, and I mean VERY random parts in the film. Take this example, remember that woman at the end of Pirates 2, who had a Jamaican accent? Well apparently she is some sort of special person trapped in a human body, I dunno. And when you burn some junk and get her to breathe the fumes, it causes her to grow to about 100 feet tall, then explode into a million crabs. Then there is some strange part where Jack Sparrow sees himself a skeleton and pulls his brain out. And apparently the only way to escape 'Davie Jone's Locker' is to tip a ship underwater when the sun sets. Its these kind of odd plot-lines which makes me wonder what the writers were smoking.

When the film isn't being completley random, its being very corny. Like during that epic battle I mentioned, Will and Elizabeth decide they have to get married. So while everyone is fighting, they are standing in the middle of the ship kissing, and nobody bothers to stab them. Not to mention the crazy over-acting from all the pirates, who all seem to feel the need to scream FIIIIRRRE! every 10 seconds.

Among all this, there are redeeming qualities. The main characters all play their roles very well, and Jonny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is as funny as ever. All my favorite characters were back in the film, I especially love the guy with the glass eye. Also, when the action gets going, it REALLY gets going. The end battle is really something, has some stunning special effects, great stunts and is very fast paced. Was it enough to make me forget about the first 2 hours of torture though? I'm afraid not.

In conclusion, Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End was a big disappointment. Maybe I'm not smart enough to understand the plot, but all the people I asked also said they didn't have the faintest idea what was going on. While it picked up greatley at the end, there were times in the film when I wished I was somewhere else.
I give it a very disappointing 6 out of 10
hazbazz

Exactly what i thought.

Perhaps I am unique in that I like a movie to have an intelligent plot, a well-constructed execution of that plot, character depth, etc...everything that makes a movie good.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 had none of those. It was a 3 hour waste of my life, and a waste of $7.50. The plot 'twists' were all extremely shallow and were obviously thought up just to extend the length of the movie. So many things came up out of nowhere...and not in a "oh man! I didn't see that coming!" type of way...it was more like a "um, ok? Where the hell did that come from? Why is it even in the movie?" type of way. Of course, the reason is that Disney wanted to take a shot at making a very long, Lord of the Rings-type epic, like everybody else has done for the past 5 years. Unfortunately, it doesn't work at all.

I seriously hope there is not a fourth one.

EDIT: *SPOILER*...and let me just say, for the record...Keira Knightley is hot, but she is not meant to be a goddamn pirate captain...much less the pirate lord that she also ends up becoming. It really is a sad and embarrassing sight, watching her climb around a ship, growl, and scream like she's some kind of testosterone-driven beast. Because she's not a guy, she's a chick...another one of those things that just doesn't work. As expected, Disney makes a pathetically obvious attempt to cater to minorities (in this case, women and feminists), and it only serves to finish destroying what is already a terrible movie.

I'm probably the only one in this thread who WILL NOT SEE THIS MOVIE.  I saw Pirates 2 and thought it sucked badly!  I liked the 1st one though.  Oh, I guess I'll see it when it comes to HBO or something, but I ain't gonna pay for this crap, and I hate it when 12 year old kids are always kicking my chair at summer blockbuster movies.  I know...I sound like an old man.

The movie was very confusing at first, but when you put the peices of the puzzle together, its alot easier to understand.  I really liked it.  The climax was the best I've seen in along time:)

some1 cant follow the plot unless they watched the 1st and 2nd movie, but even then its kinda hard to follow. The CGI was really good and the fights were even better. it was a good movie overall.

i thought the move was great,it felt kinda long but i didn't mind it at all, i thought that everything went well, some of the plot was hard to understand but later on i got everything that was going on

and for everyone who disliked it, was it at least better then the over hyped movie of spider man 3?

Okay, I love Barbossa, but that wedding ruined the whole fight for me, I've never seen something so cheesy.

Saw it opening show, loved it, though not as much as the second and first. I thought it was a good wrap-up for the series, but the clilffhanger ending in terms of Jack's storyline was a bit of a letdown.

Even when I pieced it together, the movie was still incredibly hollow.  All the special effects felt thrown in just for the sake of special effects.

*SPOILER*

I personally enjoyed this movie the most out of the trilogy, because of the amazing plot (IMO, don't flame) and special effects, not to mention the humour. I followed the plot pretty easily...and I understood it all. I was never confused, except for when they made it seem like Keira was Calypso, because I thought it was the creepy lady with black teeth (and I was right). The fight scenes were stunning, especially when Will, Barbossa, and Elizabeth are fighting the crew of Davy Jones, and they get married. The special effecs were stunning....and they left a nice cliffhanger, which definately sets up another Pirates trilogy (the ending kind of reminded me of the end of the first pirates). And am I the only one who thinks that the boy who was hanged at the beginning looked just like Keira and Will's son?

Keira and the current director won't be in a new trilogy if they make one, so I hope they don't. It'd ruin the series.
I didn't really understand the movie to be honestSajo7

Even when I pieced it together, the movie was still incredibly hollow.  All the special effects felt thrown in just for the sake of special effects.

Well, it's a Disney movie.

I wonder whz certain movies come out in Europe before North America... Anyways you guys should all go and see this film!!! It is the best film i've seen in a very long time (much better than that damned Spider 3). The scenes are legendary, the actors are perfect, the repeated action-betrayal-humor scences never get boring and the complete insanity of Jack Sparrow is just mythical!!!! DAMN I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN... in English this time!!!
