I agree with this. But my favorite music is from 1925-1955.Old. It's not even close. And by old, I mean decades to centuries. None of this post 1950s crap. Well, maybe a LITTLE post 1950s crap. But not much.

[QUOTE="mexicangordo"]Aye. Most people don't expand their music tastes after their 20th birthday, which is kind of depressing :( Its very sad, but then again you can't blame them. Seeing the current music scene from a shallow prospective can be a little underwhelming. I feel like this generation has had the worst reputation in music, and most of it gets labeled and judge to quickly before anyone even gives anything a true listen. Music is becoming more about speed and hits, and less about quality and emotion. Its very sad, :(Well this thread is a little disappointing. I came to see if people are discussing music related arguements between the classic and the modern (which is a great topic in music) but instead all I am seeing are people who are stuck in their nostalgia.
I really like the old school stuff, however, the modern age of music is different, and has evolved with the times. We can't expect the same things, the sad and good part of the new generation was that we lost what we loved, which was the old nostalgic sound, however, what was good was the fact that everything started over again. Speaking for myself, I had to rediscover what I liked in music and what I didn't, it was a fun and great journey to expand my limits and see what else is out their.
Thanks to that cleansing I was able to discover, Sigur Ros, and Arcade Fire, enjoy Interpol, Silversun Pickups, and get to see bands that were re-emerging (such as Bjork, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins) in a clearer prospective. With that said, I will say I have greatly enjoyed both.

Couldn't this be said for every decade of music. Things shift and no matter what a good chink of people will be left behind. Like many of our parents they simply hit a dead end and everything after is lost on them.
