remember that random genetic mistakes, called mutations, cannot make all of the special apparatus described above. This is not the result of evolution, but the fingerprint of the Master Designer. In fact, the apostle Paul said that such highly sensitive infrared sensors studied today are evidence of God's creation. This is indeed "clearly seen" (Romans 1:20).

I find it quite interesting, how you manage to claim the apostle Paul was aware of infrared sensors, what 2000 years ago?  Seriously if your going to post bias at least check your post for logical assumptions first.

Great.  One extremely arguable counter-example among a sea of superb evidence.

I have one huge problem with this post.  The evidence for evolution is so overwhelming that all but the most bias skeptic would refute its validity -- which is perfectly fine if you do so on a relative epistomological ground.  You may not believe evolution has enough evidence, or we can not trust how we arrived at such evidence; both of these beliefs are fine.

What pisses me off is that people who are so strict in their expectations for evidence, at the same time, believe in superstitious war Gods that magically created man, the world, and universe in a minute fraction of time.  The evidence for this superstitious and ridiculous belief system is so minute that it is almost painful.  I do not see how someone who is an opponent of evolution could denounce evolution, and at the same time, claim that there exists some sort of magical omnipotent and omnibenevolant entity.

They could, but their beliefs would amount to little more than bias superstition crafted by Biblical dogma.

Thanatos1337

Yes, I have always fould it ironic that while creationists do not require any evidence in order to justify their beliefs, they will ask for enormous amounts of evidence to the contrary of their beliefs, and when presented, they simply ignore it. An interesting hipocrisy, and an interesting and sad belief system to say the least; go through life ignoring evidence in order to justify beliefs in easily disprovable myths.

Great point.  It's because it's so threatening to their beliefs.  If evolution did not have such a strong backing, you could bet it wouldn't stir up so much controversy.

Wait....it probably still would. :?

The ignorance of creationsits just amazes me!  I don't know whats worse radical Islam or the bible belt in America....

For example saying a turtle evolves in to horse and laughing at it shows how they don't appreciate there arebillions if not trillions of animal lives that transpire between each evolutionary step no matter how small.

Sooner we all become secular humanists the better.

I know less than the TC on this subject, so I'm not about to jump in on the flame-wagon that is this discussion.

However, I would like to say something.

Evolution is a theory. It is a scientific theory because it has empirical evidence supporting it, I know. But what a theory is is an idea that is supported by known facts, until it can be proven by these known facts and thus become a known fact itself. Evolution is not a known fact. It is a theory. If it was absolutely true, like so many are saying, then it would not be reffered to as the evolution theory but scientists. Gravity is the same. As is plate tectonics. I'm not sayingthey are completely wrong, because they do have evidence, but I'm not just shouting that they are right, either.

There.

flight78

A theory in science is much different then any other theory. There is a Theory of Gravity even, and to deny that gravity exists is inane.

Bad very bad argument !! Gravity is still a theory because scientists doesnt know everything about gravity ! Man your ignorance smells bad.

Genius, even AFTER we discover what causes gravity it would still be called a Theory   Absolutely nothing is for sure in science, just the most logical conclusion based on the evidence we have.

I wouldn't say that would rule out evolution. Its natures way to eveolve into a certain environment. If an animal or insect or even a human cant adapt in a certain environment, over time it will evolve into a being which can. Theres probably a reason why the insect evolved to use these detectors, we just dont know what.

Actually its called Theistic evolution, aka evolutionary creationism.  Followers claim that god used evolution as a tool to create.  Which is far more beleivable than day-creationism, if at all.  Not forgetting each religion has its crazy spin on creationism.

Because the Bible says he didn't.

A religious person doesn't have to take the bible word for word. Why should anyone? Only one's faith in God is what matters, not some book or gospels written by believers. I can't understand why Christians won't accept that the Bible is a mythical story based on historical events.

As for evolution, debunking evolution is like attempting to challenge thousands of gifted biologists who have already proven biology with suffiecient evidence and observation.

So far, theists have not even been near succesfully debunking evolution. If they were, then this would have been written in every biology book: "The theory of Evolution is still debatable." A large category in Biology is taxonomy(classification of animals), which is dependant on evolution. Creationists would have to explain that enormous part of biology without evolution, which nobody had ever succeesfully done.

what's wrong with evolution and faith? I believe in evolution, only that God created the creatures, and in time, redesigned them. simple as that.

evolution is a theory, genesis is a myth.

Check this out: apparently a new Creationist museum is due to open in four days in Kentucky.

http://www.redorbit.com/news/oddities/252336/creationist_museum_takes_shape_in_nky/

People living in peace and harmony with Velociraptors?  T-Rexes as pets?  Brontasuaruses boarding the Ark?  I thought this was a joke the first time I saw this, but no, sadly it's very far from being a SNL skit.  How how how can anyone believe something like this?

hahaha i love how when people who believe in science ask the religious for proff and they say you dont need it its faith and that there is a god...but then religious go looking for ways to disprove science. why dont you just let it go. i wont criticize your beliefs and you dont bother mine. no one has ever said that "god" hasnt allowed evolution to happen. religion and science can go hand in hand but some just wont accept that fact.

heh, thatd make god kinda lazy.

Absolutely not. It's absolutely illogical to think that God interferes with anything going on now, anything that we know. God has no concept of time so he cannot be altering things within time.

no whats illogical is saying there is a magical being that can control whatever he wants and then at the same time say evolution is impossible...you dont know...you have never met god...so just let things go.

No, I do know. If God exists, then clearly God created 'time' and time is after all merely about perspective and thus the only conclusion is that God does not exist in time if He exists.

Damn that's cool, I learn something new everyday.  Do you think the kids floss it's teeth before bedtime?  Possibly read it a bedtime story as well?

That would be cool to have a T-rex as a pet though.  Nobody would mess with you.

Evolution can't explain the SPECIFIC design. Mutations? Is that the best evolution can do? Sorry, that's religion not science.
maheo30
how about natural selection and small changes over millions and millions of years?
