[QUOTE="HNNNGH"]

[QUOTE="MgamerBD"] So real men cry in public? Last time I checked, when I was a kid my parents taught me "Don't let them see you cry". It makes you look weak...MgamerBD

I look forward to future generations when this stupid attitude will be recognised as the anachronistic nonsense that it is.

See the difference between me and you is that I like the "manly man" stereotype. I like it that society wants me to be strong. To be a leader. To me its a blessing not a curse. I have no problem with what I was taught when I was younger. If you want to ball your eyes out go ahead, more power to you. But I won't be. Mr. big words sensitive guy :)

What strikes me (apart, of course, from the implicit sexism) is the incredible crudity of your conception of what a 'real man' - whatever that means - is. It's the kind of absurd, action-man drivel that one would expect, and even then be somewhat disappointed by, from a five-year-old. Well, do as you wish: by all means act as if your role in life is that of an emotionless, expressionless automaton. But don't criticise other people for aspiring to be better than cavemen.

Rarely due to real issues, which is odd since I get frequent bouts of despondence. I cry at movies a lot though >_>

In a room full of people crying over something horrible happening, someone needs to not be crying and actually doing something. However, I find it strange that you think someone who does not want to cry in public could be called emotionless.

I tear up a little, during sentimental moments, remembering great times, closing a chapter on life(i.e. graduating), or when I lose somebody.

Or they could all organise a bit better and cry before they have their gathering. But how many people are we talking about and how small is the room?

As do I, but I do think crying has its proper time and place, just like sex does. Having sex out on the street is inappropriate and I see crying to be a personal matter that really is not the business of anyone else but the person doing it.

I cried with laughter today when I found out that one my colleagues sent a letter to a client, warning him that a warrant was issued for his arrest. Only, he used the automatic address tool in the client database, which had the client's address as the local jail. The jail sent the letter back, with the words "County Jail" highlighted. It was such a deliciously wry stroke of humor that I kept laughing in random bursts throughout the afternoon.

Maybe.. 12. in a 8x10 room. Hot summer, poor ventilation, and bodily gases erupting all over from the crying ones. Someone has to be beating, scratching, and knawing through the door.

Mm, since emotion and action are of course mutually exclusive

Yeah. Doesn't happen all that often, but whenever there's definitely reason to, for sure. I'm not about to repress it or anything like that.

They can happen at the same time, but your retort merely simplified it down. Action effects emotion but the same in return of course. So If a horrible situation is unfolding, and someone is crying their eyes out, then it can directly hinder their action in response. Happens all the time. Sometimes bringing a world of crap to an otherwise already bad situation.

Listen. Emotions are bad. No one really gives a crap what you feel when things are normal or just somewhat of a bad blip on the radar. No one really does. When bad situations happen, people break down and do some amazingly stupid crap in retrospect. If someone chooses when to let their emotions run free then that is different than having random outbursts.

At least that is my viewpoint. I severely dislike those that break down when bad situations happen. Make the best and enjoy such of any bad situation and give the bad parts that you cannot flip around their moment when you choose, not be a slave to it.
