[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="chessmaster1989"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] I'm not happy with Obama. I don't agree with Republicans.....both parties have taken steps to erode Constitutional freedoms. We need real change...not the catch phrase Obama used in 2008 and not the phrase Romney is using this year.

I'm just surprised because you don't strike me as the libertarian type on economic issues.

I'm sorry.:(

No actually if Johnson were a little more moderate on economic issues I would have voted for him in a heartbeat. As is, I grudgingly filled in the circle for Obama. Although keeping Joe Biden as VP is a good enough reason to vote Obama. :P

How to explain Romney's loss to shocked conservatives. Note: "The American Conservative" is not exactly a liberal source. Something for the conservatives in this and other threads so confidently making bets to keep in mind.

True, nothing is set in stone yet. This isn't like in 2008 where anyone who thought McCain was going to win on election night had either not been paying attention or had one too many brain surgeries. But the polling consensus of the swing states is pretty strong and Obama has a lot more paths to victory than Romney does. I feel confident.

iirc polls showed Dems sticking heavily behind Obama. Plus polls have him up in Ohio by 3 points.

Granted, and no doubt some will do what you did and vote third party. But the polls show that the vast, overwhelming majority of Democrats aren't doing so this year. The likelihood of a Ralph Naderesque or Ross Perotish spoiler this year is pretty small.

Oh...I wasn't planning on a "loser leaves OT for good" sort of bet. As a moderator, doing things to try and get LESS people on the site and drive traffic away is something that our glorious admins might take a dim view of. I was thinking more along the lines of making a bet with Whip that he stop making new threads for a certain length of time so I don't have to see constant updates on the color of the Pope's shh1t on any particular morning or the latest faux outrage about liberals if I won. In return, I'd do the normal "you can pick my avatar and signature" if he did.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="chessmaster1989"][QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"] I'm confident enough to bet on the outcome. I offered to do so earlier if any of OT's conservatives want to take me up on it, but I haven't gotten any takers yet.

Come now we already stand to lose Hokie and devilmightcry if Obama wins, if we added someone like kk to that how would OT survive? :(

Didn't someone try that last time?

Mysterylobster if I remember right. As far as I know, she honored her lost wager.

Dave you misunderstood my bet with SunTzu. If Obama wins, I leave OT, if Romney wins he leaves OT or makes an honor thread.

We're talking popular vote, right? Or is that for EC vote as well?

It wasn't specified but I think the mutal agreement is the EC.

I have real life bets regarding the popular vote, and I'm very confident Romney will get it.

She did, and the site is much better off without her.
