Good to see they aren't brainwashed. Hopefully more and more servicemen will begin to see.

Yeah they didn't join the military to fight a war.

First off, lol brainwashing?

Second, there's no invasion. It's a surgical strike using missles. We're going to bomb them, notinvade with ground forces.

If you don't want to die in a senseless war you shouldn't join the military. Fighting wars is what the military does, especially in the US.

Some wars aren't worth fighting for. 1. Brainwashing probably wasn't the way to put it. I mean that at least they don't think that everything the US does in justified. 2. Very aware.

Like in all current wars, ground forces need to be there. Missile strikes can only do so much.

Using the term "Brainwash" is a little bit over the top. Trust me, I'm not thrilled about the whole idea either, but it's not a mass invasion. To me it seems like more of a threat. The big bad US will use these missiles if you don't chill, Syria, haha. It's good to hear differents points of view, I guess.

You realise most of America doesn't want this either right? You're "hope" is irrelevant when most support their opinion.

They're only expressing the same opinion that most Americans already share. A military fights for its people not someone else's people. The American people do not want a war. Syria is lost, both the Syrian Government and the Rebels are guilty of killing thousands of innocent civilians.

How do you that those people are actually serving military members?

I would so laugh if they turned out to be Syrian gov't propaganda vids.

On the otherhand, there seems to be an astonishing number of people who actually believe that the US is going to deploy ground forces in Syria, so I guess I can believe that there actually are military members that are this stupid.

If we get involved this whole thing escalates. Then it will take hundreds if not thousands of troops to secure all of Syria's chemical weapons after the regime falls.

Can't say I am surprised some troops don't want to go to Syria. Also, seems like they were smart enough to hide their names and faces. Of course, while it is highly unlikely ground forces will be used if it does come to that their opinions don't matter. Orders are orders as long as they are lawful.

Kerry showed a picture of the atrocities Assad was committing  -

"Photographer Marco di Lauro said he nearly fell off his chair when he saw
the image being used, and said he was astonished at the failure of the
corporation to check their sources.

The picture, which was actually taken on March 27, 2003, shows a young Iraqi
child jumping over dozens of white body bags containing skeletons found in a
desert south of Baghdad.

It was posted on the BBC news website under the heading Syria massacre
in Houla condemned as outrage grows. - The Guardian

People didn't join the military to be lied to by obama and kerry.

If they're going to cause mass murder through depleted uranium and ...
Let me stop myself right there. If you call for WAR, there will be hell. So. I don't know what's wise. If the USA or the EU gets involved there will be mass civilian casualties for decades to come.
Either that, or this slaughter in Syria goes on and on.

Maybe, more than anything, we need to hear the people of Syria. Are they willing to let it come to a war on their territory with all ruination and horror that comes with it? It's their country.

I had a talk with my cousin, who's in the USAF... kid is severely brainwashed. He wants us to go to war with Syria and NK. I'm glad there are soldiers who are standing for peace.

President Peace Prize needs to listen to the people and not special interest groups.

lolol you mean jordan.. or maybe you mean turkey XD hardly an army. really their only hope in getting any serious military backbone into a surgical involvement would be france and france is in such political turmoil at the moment that they would probably fall into batsh!t lunacy if they so much as gave the US a dingy with one dude piloting it and gave him a famas.

furthermore if this "precision strike" fails miserably (and it very well could) the US government would recieved some "come at me bro; cause i aint even mad" guage PR from the syrian government. then the US wouldnt just be guilty of being a sh!t distruber they would be also a disgrace politically on the global scale and a laughing stock at the UN security council meetings (let alone NATO and the UN generally assembly). their only hope of saving face is puting boots on the ground and when they do that well..

lets just say public opinion of a third middle east war wont be the first problem they will need to sort out.

The country is already at war and has been for two years. US precision strikes are no where near the horror and ruination brought by Assad's indiscriminate bombing of rebel held town and contested areas.

So theres a chance that someone that might use them can get some compared to a certainty of someone that has used them from keeping them. The Arab league could secure the weapons, the FSA could, NATO could.

[QUOTE="Person0"][QUOTE="KC_Hokie"][QUOTE="Person0"] So theres a chance that someone that might use them can get some compared to a certainty of someone that has used them from keeping them. The Arab league could secure the weapons, the FSA could, NATO could.

No one else is joining us in this attack. If the regime falls everyone will just look to the U.S. to secure the weapons.

Pretty sure Israel, Saudi Arabia and turkey won't like free chemical weapons so close to them.

They all don't like Assad either and are unwilling to do anything. They'll look to the U.S. to fix it as usual.

I'm guessing they would be more pragmatic about the issue of chemical weapons near them and help secure/destroy them.

Not if they can just get the U.S. to do it.

Yeah they didn't join the military to fight a war.

First off, lol brainwashing?

Second, there's no invasion. It's a surgical strike using missles. We're going to bomb them, notinvade with ground forces.

Where have I heard before "we are using a surgical strike against, not an invasion" before? Irak? Afganistan? The gulf? Vietnam? I'm so very confused... You could make a bingo of presidents who have said that. There is no reason to go to Sirya. Really. Staph!!!
