Didn't they win a controversial game of all time yesterday?
Hell yes they did. The ending of that game was a total clusterjab. I've never heard of an offense committing a penalty on the last play of the game and have time put back on the clock.I'm from Mississauga, Ontario. Our mayor is the oldest in all of Canada; and I think she's also one of the longest serving mayors in Canadian history. Her name is Hazel McCallion, she's 89 years old and was recently reelected for her 12th consecutive term.

The largest Island in Canada is Baffin Island. It is the fifth biggest island on Earth. Only two US states are bigger than Baffin Island – Alaska and Texas. Baffin Island is more than double the size of the UK and is slightly smaller than France.

Absolutely nothing, because of how small my town was until just recently (it's about 14K now, almost double since 2000, and nearly quadtrudbled since 1990). Except an unconfirmed visit from Robert Wadlow in 1938 (this is according to my grandmother and some other old townsfolk people)
Not a lot happens in my town anymore, but it does have a few interesting bits.
There was a building in my town called The Co-operative Hall which once hosted The Who, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles during it's prime. Has since been demolished and replaced by a Supermarket.
My town has won the "Best Market in Britain" award for two years in a row. 8)
One of the leading Victorian Age writers, Mary Anne Evans (known by the pen name of George Eliot) was born in my town.

Part of the movie There's Something About Mary was filmed at my hometown's city hall. mrmusicman247Part of the movie "Just Friends" was filmed in my town. (Or so I believe) The word "Saskatchewan" is Cree for "What the hell am I doing here?" Saskatchewan Wind Speed Weather Category 0-50 kmh Calm 50-100 kmh Slight air movement 100-150 kmh Light breeze 150-200kmh Breezy 200-225 kmh Light Wind 225-250 kmh Gusty 250-300 kmh Windy 300+ kmh Hide the chickens 10 deg C = Vancouverites try to turn on the heat. Saskatchewanians plant gardens. 3 deg C = Italian cars won't start. Regina people drive with the windows down. Regina is in the Guinness Book Of Records - It has the longest bridge over the shortest body of water. Famed theorist/physicist Albert Einstein played goal for the Canwood(Sk.) Canucks one winter while sojourning north to Canada to "find peace and silence" for his work on the Theory of Relativity. He had played hockey in his younger yrs. in Germany. Saskatchewan has the only active sand dunes in Western Canada (just like the Sahara) although they are Up North and no one has ever seen them so they may be a government conspiracy to make our travel brochures look interesting. Saskatchewan has the most miles of highway for the least amount of population of anywhere in the world. This store also owned the largest Cash Cable Car system (over 1000 feet in length) that is still operational. The only other one in working order is in Europe or China and is betwee 600 and 700 feet. Disney had offered the Joyner family $600 000 for the system so they could put it into their Euro-Disney complex, but the family honored the wishes of the original store owner that the system remain in Moose Jaw. If you grew up thinking rice was only for dessert, ...... you might live in Saskatchewan. Ha all of these I copied and pasted from a site I found when Googling saskatchewan, I learned something new today.
