[QUOTE="hoop_hard"][QUOTE="mjk_1"][QUOTE="hoop_hard"][QUOTE="mjk_1"]I'm the same height as you... I can touch but can't dunk... gotta work on my calf raises this summer.mjk_1
jumps are the best & are you using weights when Calf Raising??
Also, set a basketball down & jump side to side from it. That really incourages you to give it your best jump everytime.
no i don't use weight with my calf raises... i want to buy some dumbells but haven't gotten around to it... i'll do about 100 calf raises at a time (not braggin, personally don't think it's that impressive) and then my legs just burn and give out, feels good and you can really tell you got a workout
i'll work on that basketball side to side thing tomorrow.
Ok but if you mess up you could get hurt. So when you start to get tired, start thinking about stopping soon.
Also, you gotta try & do more than 100 Calf raises, especially with no weights. I can do about 250 with weights on each hand but I guess everyone gotta start off at their own pace.
i've been more concentrated on pushups lately... alright before i go to bed i'll do a crapload of calf raises and pushups.. then workout and play bball while i tan tomorrow :)... man if i do this enough i'll be georgous, well, moreso lol
You also working out your Hamstrings too right? Its not all about the Calfs, the Hamstring is probably more important if your looking to increase your vertical leap. I increased my vertical leap from 18" in May & I havent gotten a chance to check it now since I sprained my ankle
