Hmmmm.... Some outlets are reporting that he died, TMZ is reporting that he was fatally hospitalized due to a bad flu. I'm not sure what to believe.

Edit: Yep, he's confirmed dead due to a bad flu.... It's a shame as he really wanted to continue his concert tour....

I was surprised to hear about this. R.I.P. Prince. You can post his music videos or live concerts in this thread if you want.

It's so weird, I had a feeling he would die soon and this is all before news of getting sick and all. I think when I watched a video of him talking about chemtrails, that's when I felt he's going to die young. Goodnight Sweet Prince.

Yeah. I don't own his music and don't seek it out, but I respect his work. The man mastered so many instruments when most people can't master one.

RIP to a truly one of a kind talent.

Edit: I did catch his performance on SNL a while back, and it was fantastic.

Big loss, I grew up in the 80's dancing to his songs, and I had 4 of his albums, Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, and Purple Rain......one of the 4 or 5 big pop icons of the 80's and VERY talented. I saw Purple Rain at the theatre a couple times.

It's crazy how it's so hard to find his official music on YouTube, maybe his death will finally get them unlocked onto there.

Ah, I read the report wrong, plus I googled Prince and his timely death wasn't updated on time..... That was my fault.

I haven't felt this rocked by a celebrity death in a long time.

Prince was one of the greatest talents ever. So inventive, so versatile, and he brought such a unique energy to everything he did.

She was most definitely an 80's star.

Cindy Lauper and Billy Idol could round out that 4 or 5 icons. There are certainly better though but they where iconic at the time.

James Brown, Michael Jackson and now Prince. Damn!

@PSP107:

Madonna was one, she was huge in both 80's and 90's but her biggest inpact was in the 80's. Here in the States Bruce Springsteen was another, starting with albums like The River and Born in the USA. You mentioned Michael Jackson. The big 4. If I was to list a 5th it would be a group....Duran Duran or Culture Club maybe?

Really I would say the big 3 pop icons were MJ, Prince, and Madonna in the 80's, Springsteen would be 4th but only in the U.S.

James Brown was bigger in the 60/70's. I saw him in concert in the 90's. James Brown kind of passed the baton to Michael Jackson and Prince so to speak.

@hitomo: This stuff is fake mate. Some dude told me musicians can sell their souls to become rich. He told me of all these people who have done it and continue to do it. I then asked him where i could sign up and sign my souls for riches. He said he wasnt sure. Me and thousands of others have been searching to sell our souls for riches, but so far, ZERO luck. I havnt even found someone willing to buy my soul for $100.
