My original point was - I couldn't care less if gay people are getting legally bound to one another. Give them benefits, thats cool it doesnt affect my life whatsoever... but it aint called marriage.

And think of how much abuse a kid must get a school when his friends find out that he has a boy daddy and a girl daddy. Totally unfair to the kid. Stability has nothing to do with it. Just plain wrong.

Santesyu

So would you rather that kid grow up in an abusive, heterosexual household than a stable, loving homosexual household? Pick one.

GG making homosexuals the good guys and heterosexual the bad guys of course.

And you completely missed the point of my post... :|

Sex is obviously an extension of your sexuality but just because a homosexual male of female doesn't have sex with the same gender does not make them heterosexual. How many times do we have to tell you this? But of course it's hard to get through to an ignorant person. stevenk4k5
How many times do I have to tell you this? Courts CANNOT and WILL NOT act on hypotheticals .They cannot make laws for hypotheticals. There has to be an act for there to be a ruling. By definition, in order for someone to be "homosexual" by law it has to be the production of a concious action, which is sex. They aren't going to protect someone for thinking "i like males", there has to be an outward act.

Wow this Gay Marriage thing is very popular in these forums lately. I just dont understand why anybody cares what other do with there life. How about you mind your own business for once. Married or Not, they will still live together and do all the same things a married couple does. So this question is for the gays, Why do you need the law to tell you if you can get married or not? You do not need the stupid piece of paper to say you are married. Marriage is about love and you can still have your weddings and get married. The piece of paper doesnt mean anything, its what the two of have is what counts. I live in California and I did not vote at all because I dont complain and I like the way things are around me. You dont need the Government to do everything in your life. For gods sake people cant even get married with out the government. HAHAHAHAHAHA Grow up and do the things you want to do just dont hurt anybody.

[QUOTE="Funky_Llama"]*sigh* You're not only homosexual if you have sex. You're homosexual if you're attracted to others of your sex. Vandalvideo
The court cannot get inside your head and go "You're homosexual". They have to base their decisions on characteristics that are readily observable. There has to be an act for a consequence in law. That act in homosexuality, by definition, the extension of sex.

Then sexual practices are indicative of orientation; doesn't mean that they are orientation.

And "Classes" of protection have to be based on immutable characteristics which are 'observable'. The act of sex with a male percludes the label of homosexuality in law. Without sex, you aren't part of the class, because there is no observable characteristic.

So f**king what, kids will torment each other over anything, if the kid just has parents that love him it doesn't matter what damn gender they are, he'll be happy, it just comes down to if his parents will be there for him.

Moron.

Also I agree completely with what stevenk4k5 said, that's a good thing to think about.

My mom works with thousands of teens a year in a runaway shelter. She has dealt with many cases where a boy or girl runs away from home due their stress from people making fun of them for having two moms or two dads. It can be very hard for children sometimes.

Well I never said that. I was just responding to the previous post. He said that if their parents love them, then it doesn't effect them. But it does.

Lol you are the moron. Chill.

Ideally, children need both a mother and father. This is the balance of things and has been like this for generations. Of course, this isnt always possible. In my opinion, having two parents of the same gender would be very unfortunate and unpleasant.

You are free to unbunch your panties now.

I know quite a few gay couples that have raised children much better than straight couples, that's BS, a child will do fine if they just have loving parents, it doesn't have to be a man and a woman.

That is wrong, but that doesn't mean gay couples shouldn't have kids, it means the rest of society needs to stop teaching their kids such intolerance. Kids aren't born homophobic anymore than they're born racist. To say that kids will always be bullied if they have two dads is to give up at the first hurdle.

all persons can be abusive...the larger point is that one can conceive of a situation where it is more beneficial for a child to grow up in a homosexual home as opposed to a heterosexual home.

He's just trying to make a point, some people think no gay people should be able to have children whatsoever, even if their original parents were monsters, so he's only saying, would you rather they be with a good stable family that just happened to be gay or would you rather them stay with a family that was abusive just because "they're straight, so they're right"

BTW Yaoi-Mikey, it would be nice if you didn't insult people just because they disagree with your unfounded views.

You're the only one doing any sort of name calling on this thread, and its not exactly the best way to get your views across.

This is where I do agree. Gays should not bring new life into the world using another person of another sex to provide the birth of their child. Adopt all you want but dont bring new life. Give that kid a chance to have his actual parents.

Im disgusted California passed this prop. The only reason I voted No is because I have a gay cousin. If he wants to get married, then let him, who are they to tell him "we don't like it, so you can't do it."

Also, does anyone know if the Arkansas Prop to ban gay couples from adopting passed?

[QUOTE="Elraptor"]I was surprised to see something like that pass in CA. It would have been one of the last states I'd expect to do so. links136

can you really allow all this unconstitutional hate to go unbanned? It IS discrimination against a minority.

What hate?

against gays for being gay Or thinking gays should be denied rights for being born different.

Well first all hate is bad, second, I don't see how prop8 is "banning" gay rights when they tried to do something that was made with the intention of being between a man and a woman. Thirdly I wouldn't say being born different, its not like being born a certain color, in this situation this is a choice.

How many times must people tell you that being gay is not a choice. Why would anyone choose to be hated, put down, beaten, and slandered?

Okay. . . but he was born black.:|

"Black," or "African American," is a lineage, not a mere skin color.:| Lineage is immutable.

So then every human being that ever existed is black?

Being gay is a choice, and you act like everyone is against gays, in the end it is a choice regardless of the consequences of that choice, like any choice in the world.
