[QUOTE="Elraptor"]I was surprised to see something like that pass in CA. It would have been one of the last states I'd expect to do so. Santesyu

can you really allow all this unconstitutional hate to go unbanned? It IS discrimination against a minority.

What hate?

against gays for being gay Or thinking gays should be denied rights for being born different.

Well first all hate is bad, second, I don't see how prop8 is "banning" gay rights when they tried to do something that was made with the intention of being between a man and a woman. Thirdly I wouldn't say being born different, its not like being born a certain color, in this situation this is a choice.

They are born different. Thats why they're gay Doesn't mean they should be treated different.

Like, you know blacks having different washrooms, or women not being allowed to vote, or native americans not being able to learn their own culture.

How many times must people tell you that being gay is not a choice. Why would anyone choose to be hated, put down, beaten, and slandered?

Being gay is a choice, and you act like everyone is against gays, in the end it is a choice regardless of the consequences of that choice, like any choice in the world.

Yep, I remember the day I choose to be straight? Do you?

*Facepalm*

This is the ignorance that guy was talking about.

Gays don't choose to be gay they're born attracted to the same sex. No choice.

They are not born different, "human beings" are born the same way like everyone else, you still can not compare that to race or what that race went through. Because homosexuality is not a race. And besides that unlike the women, gays are not having there freedoms revoked unlike what blacks or native amercians or women went through.

Indeed.

exactly.

I dont agree with it, but people were free to decide and vote on the subject and the majority of the people got their way.

no matter, this is California and it will get overturned again.

To all the gays: move to The netherlands. I just cannot believe how incredibly stupid the US is concerning gay rights. It's just sad that some people deny homosexuals the same rights as they have...and don't even feel bad about it. The inclusion of a gay marriage doesn't change anything that has to do with heterosexual marriage, nothing! It's just that homosexuals also get some security, why can't they have it? What do heterosexual people lose when a homosexual couple gets married? Oh and another thing, keep the bible out of this, because marriage has NOTHING to do with religion. Because atheists can marry too, there's no church needed to get married. The only thing is to make the bond official and to get some security. Now what is wrong with that? Here in The Netherlands we have gay marriage since 2000 and there are no problems whatsoever, why can't the US see this?

Makes me glad I live in Canada, where you know, everybody has equal rights.

Makes me proud I live in the good old USA where the people can voice in the votes and the people have spoken :)

Even when its against what your great country was founded on.

well I know what it is against changing something that was between one man and one woman into something completely different.

even when its against what your great country was founded on.

once upon a time it was between a white man and a white woman. An argument from tradition isn't a convincing one.

Actually, part of the greatness is its adaptability and that we don't have to keep thinking of things one way because they've always been that way. Believe me, by the time my kids are getting married, they'll be marry in a same-sex situation. This I believe.

To all the gays: move to The netherlands. I just cannot believe how incredibly stupid the US is concerning gay rights. It's just sad that some people deny homosexuals the same rights as they have...and don't even feel bad about it. But its against what your great country was founded on. How do you think slavery turned? Because Lincoln realized that slavery is against what your great country was founded on, regardless that nobody *believed* that way.

Forcing homosexuals to live either closeted or engage in a fake heterosexual relationship.....yeah, that's the solution. You seriously have no clue what you are talking about.

To be free to do whatever you want, and to force something to bend to your will is completely different dont you think?
