A Muslim extremist who earlier warned that TV's "South Park" creators should be "afraid for their lives" for insulting Islam's prophet Muhammad now says that yesterday's car bomb attempt in Times Square will be just the beginning of a new wave of terrorist attacks.

Younus Abdullah Muhammad, author of RevolutionMuslim.com, told WND senior reporter Aaron Klein on New York's WABC Radio that America should "absolutely" expect more jihadi violence in New York City.

When asked if the Times Square attack was specifically aimed at the offices of nearby Viacom, which owns the "South Park" series, Abdullah Muhammad deflected the question to condemn U.S. foreign policy instead.

"It was a retaliation for what your government is doing overseas," Abdullah Muhammad said. "If you want to continue killing civilians, then you're going to get many incidents that resemble what happened yesterday."

So what do you think about this? Expected or surprised? Do you believe a new wave of terrorist attacks is incoming on New York or is this guy simply trying to stir up a storm?

Good for him, South Park is plain immature and tbh in my opinion it's not even funny. Anyway, they brought it on themselves, it's just retaliation.

:)

So attempting to kill innocent civilians is an acceptable response to parody? Who knew.

Uh... nah. Can't be serious, and if so I don't want to bother anyway. Not worth it. Besides, someone couldn't possibly be stupid enough to think the people who would be killed in Times Square by a car bomb would exclusively be "Republican Americans." ----- I wish they would stop reporting whatever this guy says - I would argue that giving them all this attention is worse than the actual statements.

I have no feelings for republican Americans, so if they were killed, it wouldn't be killing innocent people. Just my 2 pence :)

You assume bombings will only hit the group of Americans you describe, you do know that bombings usually are indiscriminate, right?

I can't tell if this is sarcasm. So you believe that in response to a parody that most of New York most likely does not even watch (though if they did, who cares its a parody), they should be terrorized? They brought it on themselves? Two people in New York created the cartoon, and thats grounds for a terrorist attack that would kill far more than two?

I think showing the world that people like this hate us for these kinds of reasons, are what will justify our fighting. Because it's not justified right now.

In some ways I feel bad for them, because their minds are so skewed. It, however, does not make me sympathetic to their causes, I'm much more likely to research and practice the Islamic faith by peaceful means than by people using terror and fear tactics. That kind of image is only negative.

My post neither justified nor condoned 'their' actions. I have no idea where you got that from. My point was, people know how the extremists respond to aggravation, and they have the gall to act surprised.

My apologies then, I was confused because you said "You go try to tell someone to chill out when they have a bomb strapped to their chest", I took that to mean, that you'd rather leave them be to what they do, instead of admitting how wrong what they are doing is.

Im not scared. I'll continue riding the train, taking the buses, and walking through TimeSquare which I do almost every week. I laughed at all the people though who stood there the other night looking at the car which had a bomb in it :| (yes, even when the word got out that it was a bomb). As for SouthPark, w/e happens to the creators, they pretty much asked for it. They knew its an extremely sensitive issue and it is still fresh in peoples mind what happened when the last time a stunt like this was pulled. They didnt seem to be desperate for this much attention so I dont know why they bothered to continue with the episode. I understand their message and what they tried to do but i feel it was too early to "attack" Muhammad.

I am no fan of South Park, finding it needlessly provocative and juvenile, but I feel like I have to note that Christians, Jews, Scientologists, the handicapped, gays and Barbra Streisand, among other affinity groups, have all managed to avoid giving in to the urge to launch terrorist bombing campaigns with their belief or very existence was mocked on this ridiculous show.

Honestly, only someone who does not watch the show could say that. It is TOTALLY untrue that there was no message. They have quite clearly said what the message was, that they thought it was unfair that they and others are allowed to make fun of Jesus and every other religious figure EXCEPT Muhammad, and that they thought it was really easy to talk about "freedom of speech" when there is no danger involved. I mean really, the censorship in response to threats of violence point could not have been clearer, and I don't see how any one could think a religious figure should be off limits just because they said so and threaten you or are considered above criticism. That's the kind of thinking that allowed pedophiles to rape and remain priests in the Catholic Church. It was the same for the "Trapped in the Closet" episode taking on the notoriously powerful and litigious Church of Scientology. They believe everything is fair game. I've even seen an interview where Trey says he doesn't have a major beef with Comedy Central because they flat out said they did not want to be bombed and in his view they were honest about that. He has a bigger issue with the people who said "Oh you can't do that because it's culturally insensitive" when they really mean "I don't want to be blown up." Here's the thing, exactly what devout Muslims extremists are watching South Park anyway? Are they fans of the show? No, they are monitoring it for potential offense. They would never see a cartoon depiction of Muhammad if they didn't not choose to watch South Park. Matt and Trey have said that South Park was always intended solely for American audiences, they never expected nor did they encourage the show being sold abroad, it just happened because the show became immensely popular. In America we have tons of different religious factions because we have all races and religions and each has their own extremists but none of them are considered off limits for satire because they routinely threaten anyone who pokes fun with death. For them to censor the messages and satire they want to share with their American audience because an intolerant foreign group has decided they shouldn't would have been hypocritical, considering they've taken on just about everyone. That was the whole point of episode 200 and 201, to revisit all whom they've offended and bring up the topic of the one subject that was allowed to get away because of fear of reprisal. I think they have real guts and integrity and if more people shared this it might go a long way to stopping this theological thuggery in the long run.

I am no fan of South Park, finding it needlessly provocative and juvenile, but I feel like I have to note that Christians, Jews, Scientologists, the handicapped, gays and Barbra Streisand, among other affinity groups, have all managed to avoid giving in to the urge to launch terrorist bombing campaigns with their belief or very existence was mocked on this ridiculous show.xaos

Actually, it would very much surprise me if the recent "death threat" was the first time Comedy Central had been threatened. Lord knows that fanatics send death threats to abortion clinics and politicians, yet that kind of thing certainly doesn't get the amount of press coverage as the recent South Park thing.

As far as this car bomb, is there even any evidence that it had ANYTHING to do with the South Park episode?

Also, since when has one death threat and then a likely-unrelated car bomb meant that there is a "terrorist bombing campaign"?

[QUOTE="GazaAli"][QUOTE="Fuhgeddabouditt"]Im not scared. I understand their message and what they tried to do but i feel it was too early to "attack" Muhammad.albatrossdrums
believe me, there was no message at all. If there was any message i would sympathize with them, but the truth is, it was really an unnecessary thing to do.

Ive read your post but Im really tired and just finished studying so lets not go into a long debate here. I respect what you said, Im not implying that those extremists have any right whatsoever, Im just saying this whole thing could have been avoided easily.

Has it even been established who planted the car bomb? I could just as easily see it being planted by someone who HATES Muslims, as a way of making Muslims look bad.

I say those terrorists are pretty fast. To plan an entire bombing campaign in a matter of few days is quiet impressive.

No problem - wasn't my intention to argue with anyone any way. I'm happy to agree that we disagree about "avoiding" it, no need for a long debate. Cheers.

Could have been easily avoided, sure, but that way nothing changes.
