Reported rapes, there's a difference. However, even if it's under reported, it's doubtful it's higher than most other first world nations. However, what is interesting is that Canada and Australia have FAR higher reports of rape than the other first world countries. Australia is one of the kings of censorship of both violence and sexuality (banning women with small breasts), so it's quite interesting to see how their crimes stack up.

If there's something wrong with simulated rape, then there must also be something wrong with simulated murders. I believe a game about rape is of poor taste, but no gamer here will speak out against murdering cops (which is a worse crime according to law) and beating up hookers in GTA. It's probably a cultural norm thing.

Yes, and most BDSM fetishists fantasize about non-consensual activities. Rapelay appeals to that and considering that it's a video game and thus no one is harmed I don't really see anything wrong with it.

I don't see any consent, necessarily, within the video game though. Even if BDSM does involve "non-consensual fantasy", it's still consensual at its core. RapeLay has the user publicly molest a female. True, I do believe that the video game is a better alternative but some view it as an indication that rape is OK. Whether or not you agree is besides the point.

RapeLay may be insensitive to the victims of rape... I'm more worried about the victims, not the perpetrators. I do not believe that a video game can promote someone to rape and/or kill.

Honestly, I would never play RapeLay. I would play GTA. Why? Because I view GTA as better and more clean than RapeLay. In reality, it's not... We're just more accustomed to how GTA executed its content.
