Just wondering..What is it with every metal video on youtube with the comments having some reference to rap..Like they're listening to the stuff just so they can say they don't fit into that category..?
taj7575
I'm guessing all their friends and school mates like rap and shun this sort of music.

What bands are you suggesting for him? I just listened the that band Sentenced in your sig (the whole album that's your avatar) and I loved them! Good stuff. For clean singing metal I have to to start with: Metallica, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Black Label Society, Cynic's new cd, and DREAM THEATER![QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"][QUOTE="black_cat19"]What bands are you suggesting for him? Atheos-Arkhaios
I enjoy some Metallica, they're not bad at all. I'm a beginner guitarist, and I plan on learning Seek and Destroy soon.

Yeah, Kirk was why I started playing guitar like 10 or so years ago. I still love him.[QUOTE="black_cat19"][QUOTE="taj7575"]

What bands are you suggesting for him?Let's see...
After Forever (last 2 albums only)
Apocalyptica
Beyon-d-Lusion
Entwine
Lacrimas profundere (anything after Memorandum)
Lacuna Coil
Leaves' Eyes
Mägo de Oz
Nightwish
Sinamore
Sirenia
Sonata Arctica
Stratovarius
Therion
To/Die/For
UnSun
Within Temptation
Those are all the bands I know that are completely growl-free, if I recall correctly; we'll see which ones make the cut once I provide links. :P
3/5
They are an average melodic death metal band. Old school In Flames and At The Gates are where it's at.

Yeah, Kirk was why I started playing guitar like 10 or so years ago. I still love him.Yep, he's a great guitarist. I also plan on learning some Alice in Chains songs soon too hopefully..I just love the uncomplicated awesomeness of some early metal/grunge bands :P. With a few power chords you can make some awesome riffs easily.
I think actually learning power chords on my guitar has made me more interested in listening to some of these bands..
lol ok.. whats with the pretentious "lrn2music" thing about? imaps3fanboy
What do you recommend my good sir? D:Espada12
Alice in Chains, AC/DC, Early Metallica, Judas Priest, Black Sababth, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, RHCP, Pearl Jam Goo Goo Dolls, Megadeth, Queen, Hendrix, Boston, Tool, Muse..
You know, Real Music.

All you do is list bands that everyone's probably listened to a million times. Don't you know of anything different? It's always the same crap with people like you... If you're going to be a music elitist, expand your tastes to something that's actually out of the norm.[QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"] lol ok.. whats with the pretentious "lrn2music" thing about? Dystopian-X
