I thought this may be a fun thread for people looking for new music from artists they haven't heard from that get your stamp of approval. From me I recommend the album Nowhere by Ride for all those alternative lovers out there. How about you.

Drop Nineteens - Delaware
A practically unknown but incredible shoegazing band that came and went in the early '90s. Every so often I'll feature them in WAYLT in the hopes that somebody will experience them for the first time and fall in love with their blissed out jangly guitars. Just listen to the song in its entirety and just veg out....
Melodeath band that is famous in my area. Their debut EP, not too shabby. Saw them live last year in July, so awesome.

The song you posted sounded really good. I've never really tried listening to shoegazing but I think I'll give it a go.

Hmm, I'm gonna go through all my crap and see what stuff has 0 search returns =)
Sofar,
Buckethead - Needle In A Slunk Stack, Forensic Follies, A Real Diamond In The Rough
Steve Vai - Alien Love Secrets, Flex-Able, Alive In An Ultra World
Okay, that's all I could find with no results w/o going through names that are common words... =D
Flying Saucer Attack- Flying Saucer Attack
If you like My Bloody Valentine and heard of Ride then add this to your mix.
4. Pulp- Freaks

Oh my God yes. I couldn't really get into Pulp, but this album and Jarvis Cocker's solo albums are incredible. Life Must Be So Wonderful is such a powerful song.
I recommend Duchess Says' Anthologie des Trois Perchoirs. It's a local band (Montreal), and despite the album's name the lyrics are in english. They make very energic and abrasive synth-punk, there's not a bad song to be found on the record. Awesome live band too, they've been supporting Yeah Yeah Yeah's in their european tour and I've heard many say they practically stole the show!
Jahreszeiten by Nargaroth. Think of it as a black metal version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, truely a unique album and very enjoyable to listen to.
Good stuff.

Parallel Uni-Verses by Del the Funky Homosapien & Tame One
Definetely the best hip-hop album of 2009.
No hip-hop fan should miss this (especially the underground ones).
You can listen to the whole album for free here.
Jurassic Shift by Ozric Tentacles.
This is my favorite track off of the album. Very good psychedelic instrumental rock band.

Interesting. I heard the album some time ago but I remember thinking to myself it was just washed up rappers uniting and adefinite pass. Maybe I'll give it a second look.

Jarvis cocker's recent solo album wasnt as great as his first but I still loved it. Its funny that Pulp only got popular when they released their later album Different clases. Not saying that is a bad album, but it doesnt have the emotional songs that their earlier albums like Freaks, and It have. My favorite album of theirs is This is Hardcore. If you like Freaks you should try listening to that one.
Beyond The Doors Of The Pit by Avatar (Savatage) from 1979
Sorry there aren't many good, large pictures of the cover.
I think this band is pretty well known in certain parts of Europe, but much less known in the US and other parts of the world, i got into em a few years ago and they've easily become my second favorite band of all time, period:
Lacuna Coil, Comalies:An Italian band that, if you really wanna categorize em, is orchestral/goth rock/metal, but that doesn't give em much credit for their unique sound. There's tons of videos of them on youtube you can check out, they seem to go very well with Final Fantasy. ;)
