TO spare you the time , in Sudan a teacher lets her 7 year oldstudents name a teddy bear Muhhammad . Now she can get 3 months in prison . It's little things like these daily that make religion more harmfull then good especially in the more radical locations.

That would of course be the result of that countries laws. The religion didn't require it.:roll:

You have to understand that different cultures have different standards. Islam is a part of their culture, and their society is based around it. To demonize them for their practices is stupid because it is just a different culture with different standards. Now if they were to try and impose this onto western nations, then there would be a problem.

Wow, that is harsh. Is there a Muhammed Patrol of some kind, because this isn't the kind of story that makes its way into news outlets unless someone makes it. And religion should never have been born. Its quite possibly the largest motive for violence, yet we don't see many extremist douchebags preaching that religion should be banned. We have our Jack Thompsons and Hillary Clintons and Columbine Figureheads, but nobody pushing for the destruction of religion.

It's not religion that is the cause of such things, it is Semetic religion (Christianity, Islam, Judaism). These religions are all based off an ancient Sumerian god of war, and should be practiced ONLY in the fertile crescent/middle east region of the world where it originated. Religion is generally peaceful and offers guidance to a person. Semetic religion is generally contradictory and inconsistent with its values.

There is too much of that . Why can't I be close to God without the help of the Church ? Why do I have to eat a small piece of bread like the others and call it the body of christ , that would be canibalism , but I eat just a piece of bread . Why do I have to live in fear of the end of the world that never came and many previous generations did the same ( if it comes it will be natural or human made) .

Good lord, did you just blame people in the here-and-now for something people did hundreds of years ago?:roll: You've got issues.

Know what has killed more than religion? More than all religious conflict in the history of Earth combined?

Science.

If it weren't for science, we wouldn't have guns, we wouldn't have cars that hit and kill people, we wouldn't have planes that malfunction and crash, we wouldn't have the atomic bomb, we wouldn't have electricity to shock, and more.

Should we get rid of science?

That's done more often than you think. The Holocaust, slavery, persecution of Indians, lynching, many people are still held responsible for all of this, even though most of the people who actively participated in all of this are either dead or vegetables.

i think your problem is less of a religion problem and more of a people problem. people hold many things things dear. sometimes its religion, sometimes its government, sometimes its just consistancy. whatever it is, people will do drastic things to hold on to it. if its not religion, its something else.

How about the Christianity that DESTROYED ancient European cultures to replace them with a barbaric and primitive semetic one? The Christianity that says "an eye for an eye" in one part of its book and "turn the other cheek" in the other part. The Christanity that encourages people to bow down and submit to a proto-hippy who died 2000 years ago. The Chrisianity that teaches people to love their enemies and be weak, instead of standing up for themselves and their folk. Christianity and Islam are just spinoffs of a more barbaric religion called Judaism. Again, I have no problem with these religions existing in their places of origin, but they have no place in western society.

What would you consider the civilized world? Europe and the USA? In that case, focus your energy on outlawing this religion in the western countries rather than demonizing it where it is meant to be practiced.

It's a proven fact religion does more harm than good. There are great articles about it at www.godisimaginary.com. One quotes UN reports that clearly show the countries that are most peaceful and least crime ridden are the ones that practice religion the least. Countries that strongly practice religion are also the countries that are most corrupt and impoverished.

It's a proven fact.

If it wasn't for religion (namely Christianity) aiding the foundation of modern science, a helluva lot less people would be saved!

Not to mention the founding of America, the discovery of the Big Bang, the mapping of the human genome, and other areas of science!

:lol::lol::lol:

Atheist bigots are so amusing, thinking they know everything there is to know about religion and how it ruins everything. . .:lol:

Didn't the chuch say Galileo was wrong about the sun being the center of the solar system? Last I checked a lot of Christians don't believe in evolution which is the foundation of biology. Oh, and what about the issue of stem cell research. From what I gather Christianity has hindered science, not helped it.

Ad hominem attack of course. Attack the messenger instead of the message. Let me ask you something. Why is it ok to bash Christianity and Islam but not Judaism? Nowhere in my post did I bash Christians, Muslims, or Jews, only their respective religions. Last I checked, the First Amendment was still valid.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Godisimaginary.com? You're honestly pretending that site is credible? MOST OF IT IS SATIRE!!!

:lol::lol::lol:

It's not credible? An example?

Which ancient European cultures were destroyed? The group that destroyed the most cultures was the Romans...and they were pagan.

Christianity teaches an eye for an eye is wrong. As for love your enemies...that is intended to not START conflict.

Didn't the chuch say Galileo was wrong about the sun being the center of the solar system? Last I checked a lot of Christians don't believe in evolution which is the foundation of biology. Oh, and what about the issue of stem cell research. From what I gather Christianity has hindered science, not helped it.lupinelope

Then you don't gather much.

[QUOTE="Choga"]It's not religion that is the cause of such things, it is Semetic religion (Christianity, Islam, Judaism). These religions are all based off an ancient Sumerian god of war, and should be practiced ONLY in the fertile crescent/middle east region of the world where it originated. Religion is generally peaceful and offers guidance to a person. Semetic religion is generally contradictory and inconsistent with its values. Dracargen

I don't know what Christianity you're talking about, but it's not the one I follow. . .

How about the Christianity that DESTROYED ancient European cultures to replace them with a barbaric and primitive semetic one? Destroyed european cultures. . .yeah.:roll:

Eye for an eye is in the OT, turn the other cheeck is in the NT. Learn about the Bible before bashing it.:roll:

Jesus was a hippy? Most popular hippy in history.

Christianity does not teach you to be weak. Where did you get that? The Skeptic annotated Bible?:lol:

Well, guess what? If it wasn't for these religions, western society would not exist! We are not going anywhere, so get used to it.

Guess what, I was a Christian for 14 years. To be a Christian you have to follow the Old AND New Testament. And of course Christianity teaches you to be weak. Turning the other cheek and loving your enemies is most definetally weakness. Oh these religions helped evolve western societies? Oh yea the Dark Ages, I forgot. How about the Romans, Greeks, Dacians, Thracians, Gauls, Celts. All of these were great civilizations. All of them eventually "Christianized". The Dark Ages was the peak of piety in Europe, and we all know that was the PEAK of western civilization.

Science saved more people , religion saved 0 unless if it depended on science ( eg . a charity buying medicine) .And yet christians still preach about being prosecuted 2000 years ago.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

If it wasn't for religion (namely Christianity) aiding the foundation of modern science, a helluva lot less people would be saved!

Not to mention the founding of America, the discovery of the Big Bang, the mapping of the human genome, and other areas of science!

:lol::lol::lol:

Atheist bigots are so amusing, thinking they know everything there is to know about religion and how it ruins everything. . .:lol:

Those would've been discovered sooner or later .ANd aren't christians against the big bang theory and agaisnt evolution . Oh and I was catholic at first but then I changed.

How about the fact that the practice of age-old European traditions were outlawed because they were heathen? The vikings fought bravely against the Christian onslaught but they too eventually fell. So many pagan idols and places of worship were destroyed to be replaced with churches and such.
