I don't say or stand for it.
Problem solved.
THE_DRUGGIE
But other people say it! And when other people say things that you don't agree with, that just isn't right! Like, it's in the Constitution! Look it up!
And, for good measure... lawl.
As Lewis Black said, 'If you don't want to say "Under God", then just say "Under Dog". That way, you'll end at the same time everyone else does.'FragStains
Great stuff

On a completely serious note someone yelled that I hated America when I didn't stand for it. I said, "Well, maybe you should stop being a fascist and allow me to exercise my First Amendment right to not stand."
He got red in the face and sat back down. Internal lulz ensued.
You don't have to say it, if you don't want to. Should we remove all the "God" from our money as well?CommanderShiroI think we should hang people for saying the word 'God'. It may offend someone.
During the Eisenhower era, actually, and I believe that it is unconstitutional, ergo it should be removed.CptJSparrow
Me, too.
When I do say it, I just say "...One Nation, *pause* Indivisible, with Liberty..."

You dont stand for the pledge of allegiance?
Was my wording incorrect?

Well played, sir.
Personally, I don't have an issue with an individual not standing and doing the pledge, so long as they are respectfully quiet while others are doing the pledge. It's your right not to pledge allegiance. For example, for some reason, the state legislature declared that every morning at Texas public schools, the US Pledge of Allegiance would be said, along with the Texas Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a "moment of silence".
As I personally don't understand the concept of pledging my allegiance to my nation and then immediatly pledging said allegiance to a state, I don't say the Texas pledge.
Yeah, start a chain reaction. Remove the word "god" from every document in America. Great idea. Just don't say it and let us who do believe in god say it. If you can't tell by the icon, I am a very patriotic person.monkeytoes61
I agree with you after all most of the nation believes in God.

I just don't see the point in pledging allegiance to your country every single day. Isn't one time good enough?

Yeah, let us deny habeas corpus during peacetime while we are at it...Just leave stuff as it is it doesn't really change much.
case closed.

I think it should be removed, but it should be something people chose to say - it should not be printed in default.
ALSO THIS IS A SIDE NOTE: The concept of "God" should be completely removed from government. When I go to court, I don't trust in God. I trust that in the court, from the many lies, from the many details, from the many evidences and testimonies, comes one truth.
E pluribus unum.

Dunno. Your reasoning makes sense to me. For me, it's just a little moment of patriotism to start out the day.

Well, it is your right as an American to not have to stand or pledge for America, thanks to the freedoms America gives us :P
Though... people do see it as disrespectful to not at least just stand.
wow TC hasn't said a word  LMAOcyberdarkkid
Proabably because he wanted us all to mindlessly babble about the subject. The joke's on us. :(
Just leave it as it is. God, I hate political correctness. Look what it did to Chri...err the holidays.

If you dont stand for the pledge of allegiance then you are disrespecting the flag of the country that harbors you and trys to take care of you and gives you and your family a place to live. If you dont respect your country then why are you here?...MontayaI will not show respect for something that is unconstitutional -- I am being more of an American than you are. ;)

constitutional or unconstitutional, you should still respect the flag in memory of a great nation, past or present.

I respect the flag and not the pledge of allegiance, and I will not sacrifice my loyalty to the constitution for the brief recognition of respect for the nation's history that I can express in a myriad of different ways.[QUOTE="monkeytoes61"][QUOTE="CptJSparrow"][QUOTE="monkeytoes61"]Yeah, start a chain reaction. What religion does the Pledge of Allegiance advance or hinder? I've talked to many athesist that say that atheism is not a religion but rather a form of thought.
