Right. It's okay if you benefit but screw everyone else.

If its an emergency situation thats illegal:

If its cancer or something prolonging its called Medicare. If we had it my way I would abolish it and if they can't pay, not my problem.

You were arguing paying taxes to help others. It's the same exact thing. You can deflect.....but it doesn't work. We can see through you.

I never asked about the law, I mean you personally regardless of the law, would you support the idea of the hospital turning away people because they were uninsured?

Hey if you're gonna argue I'm against all taxes I'd prefer a quote or a screenshot at-least.

Thats a pretty huge statement no?

Of course not. If I ran things all hospitals would have to treat everyone regardless of condition (Not only emergencies, perhaps cancer and other serious ailments), but the patients would have to foot the bill.

You're going to have to articulate your view point a bit better than because your rhetoric falls right under the basic republican slant that can be superimposed on any kind of government service that benefits us all when ever you throw around self entitled and leech in your language.

Patients can't foot the bill when they declare bankruptcy due to no money/ no coverage.. Guess who pays for the bill then?

I don't really have to do anything, I think you should just stop making assumptions and asserting them as facts.

The same thing that happens in the current system, the hospitals write it off to a debt agency.

............ You seem not to understand this but one of the leading causes of filing bankruptcy is medical bills.. In which debt is forgiven or the debt is never collected from the patient.. Those costs don't disappear and it leads to everything else going up in price including healthcare premiums.. Meaning you are already PAYING for them to begin with REGARDLESS of ACA..

Typically it gets sent to collections, like any other delinquent debt. Alternatively, it can get written off, in which case you may get a 1099-C. You will have to report the cancelled debt as income and contend with the IRS if you do not pay the appropriate tax.

A 1099C becomes taxable income to you BTW. If you didn't know. So that is that persons problem lol.

Has nothing to do with premiums. More to do with debt collection. Use sources next time please.

What about police? Fire department? Why are you ok with basic infrastructure? Not every one uses it as much as others, some barely pay taxes yet use infrastructure more than others.. Wouldn't you call that being a leech? Why are you ok with that, but completely against the other?

Those things have been around for a century. Universal healthcare is a fairly recent concept.

I also don't like paying for others healthcare. I don't mind paying for something we all use, but not everyone wants insurance.

That's cool. Oddly enough I think Master_Live helped me come to some greater understanding with his earlier comment. You too actually when you clarified the difference between not having to worry about voters and getting to choose your voters. His worked within the framework of a party who comes to power via rules as opposed to true popularity so they need not be concerned with the opinions of the other side. Your comment made my logic less muddy, and filled in a gap.

I still suggest people make separate topics just for the sake of getting to discuss exactly what they want, but if this works for them then okay. I just think it would be more helpful for them if the topics were more organized.

You do realize that a person in such a situation will most likely never be able to pay off the debt right? So what happens is it goes entirely on the rest of the system.. Really? Premiums are not affected by this what so ever when a patient costs the hospital tens of thousands of dollars in services and the like and is unable to pay it? How about the fact we rank 31st in healthcare quality yet spend the most of any other country?

http://content.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1887489,00.html what's this a article talking about the costs of the uninsured already being transferred to the insured?

.. You're moving the goal posts, I am specifically asking you why you are ok with that, when we fall into the exact same reasoning as the ACA.. There are people who are not paying for it, that they are now benefiting from the services, what you called being a leech..

No one is moving anything. You've assumed this:

@sSubZerOo said:

I call that being a leech, but infrastructure and healthcare are two different services. Infrastructure is something everyone integrated into the modern world can use, however not everyone wants health insurance and forcing those to get it is in my opinion a violation of freedom.

@sSubZerOo said:

Families that don't pay for ACA are fined 695$ so incorrecto.

@sSubZerOo said:

And that goes to a 1099C where debt is collected off of their income.

In essence, if they don't have a job yes. So get a job.

Premiums in reference to hospital bills? Ah of course, but I mixed the terms since we're talking about ACA.

Its called a 1099C. Its when debt collectors begin collecting off of your income. If they have no job then of course they won't be able to pay it off. Which brings me back to my original meme:

We done here? You made assumptions, didn't know basic laws and in general don't know how debt collection agencies work. Anyone reading this including leftists can see that.
