Can the party adapt to changing times or will they just follow the establishment?

I like a lot of Pauls ideas but dont want him to get the nominee, no way in hell he could beat Obama his ideas arent popular enough. And I want Obama to lose. AdamPA1006I don't think the Republicans have anyone to offer that will beat him....
Do we really need two threads on the caucus?scorch-62Give it time....we'll have three. I see what you did there MG....

I found this interesting. I think its some food for thought.

Despite finishing third, it still represents a jump in votes from 2008 (11,841 to 26,219 or 9.93% to 21.51%)

I just don't see that happening with this group. Really isn't a stand out in the bunch and if GWB could be re-elected.....
he got hit hard when bachmann accused him of bribing her camp away, santorum went around saying he was crazy and all guns would be destroyed if RP had his way, and there was one other 11th hour mega lie that i am forgetting by another person.I'm rather surprised. I was under the impression that Paul would floor his polling numbers.

i honestly cant differentiate between obama and romney, so if it is up to those two... i am getting alcohol poisoned on election dayHard to say. Even though the Iowa Caucus is supposed to be a good projection of what will happen later on in elections, anything could happen. Just look at what happened in 2000.BranKetra
The Caucuses have been better indicators for Democrats rather than Republicans.
Look at 08's GOP results.
It went Huckabee, Romeny, and Fred Thompson. McCain was fourth!

i honestly cant differentiate between obama and romney, so if it is up to those two... i am getting alcohol poisoned on election day well obama has lied so much it really kinda makes me angry. i hope he loses so romney can have a chance to prove how evil he is and then finally we let trump get into office and let everything truly go to hellI honestly think Gingrich has the best chance of beating Obama in a debate. Newt would mop the floor with Obama.
But I'm glad Romney won over Paul. Romney was my second choice next to Gingrich. Santorum surprised me.

At a glance I read the topic title as "Ron Paul comes in 3d in Iowa Caucus's"
"Too bad Gingrich has motion controls!"
I read he was coming in 3d, lost interest.LustForSoul
yay not alone!

Depends on the topic. I do think those debates would be enriching and informative (and hopefully civil).

The fact that there are people out there that truly support Ron Paul is an absurdity that I will never comprehend.

Despite his vendetta against the Fed and his desires to shrink the national government back to the size it was in the 1790's, the support for his adherence to the Constitution shouldn't appear all that far-fetched. That idea still resonates with some Americans.

Obama is more like a wannabe celebrity than a President. Paul is just an idiot in foriegn policy.

What aspects of Paul's foreign policy are idiotic?
You can never have too much Caucus! Big fan of the Caucusians?[QUOTE="scorch-62"]Do we really need two threads on the caucus?mexicangordo
His fiscal policy would ruin us, however the good thing is congress pretty much decides what to do with the economy and since his foreign policy is pretty decent I find him the only GOP candidate that isn't reprehensible. I liked Huntsman until he started sucking up to AIPAC to get campaign contributions and the rest are either horrible people or **** insane. The fact that there are people out there that truly support Ron Paul is an absurdity that I will never comprehend.

He doesn't see Iran as a nation that hates America. He wouldn't care if they obtained a nuke, nor would he help Israel in a war against Iran or others who hate them. He just wouldn't care about other a**hole countries having big weapons.I'm surprised Gingrich didn't come in higher, considering he probably had an affair with at least 60% of the population. Maniacc1Probably says something about him as a lover

In no way is it like that; one is demonstrably false, the other is pretty much a matter of opinion. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine which is which.Gingrich isn't campaigning to get more publicity for his books. Thats just like me saying Obama is a Muslim or not a American born citizen.
