i recently watched I Am Sam, for the fifth time, and I cried like a baby yet again.
I would say that is the saddest movie of all time.
Second saddest is the train scene in The Pursuit of Happiness.

Anyone else have a saddest movie or scene from a movie?
Mine is definately I Am Sam. :(

The end of Atonement, or in Hotel Rwanda when its raining and they are told they cant leave...or in Hotel Rwanda when the girl is describing the two little girls. All sad scenes.

Don't even have to give it a second thought, Grave of the Fireflies is the saddest movie I've ever seen. Never thought an anime would ever bring out an intense emotion in me but I was in tears during the last half of it.

There were alot of sad movies out there.. One that really surprised me was under free movies on Comcast ondemand.. Natural City, basically a Asian Blade Runner esque movie.. I thought it was gonna be crap when I turned it on.. But I was hugely surprised, and it had a very sad ending..

Braveheart and Green Mile were other ones that had sad endings.

Dude you would be surprised.. I honestly am not a big anime fan.. I do watch some because their intersting and imaginitve.. There are some pretty powerful endings.. One would have to be the Berserk series ending..

Well it was a big deal because it was basically his companion alone in a city of monsters for over 3 years... That being said it was a sad movie but no where near to what the book was....

Well um
it was a whole lot more then just killing an animal, it was killing his dead daughters dog, who was his only friend in a world with no one, who died saving him, he loved that dog and it was the only thing he had left to care for and love
Yeah it's just that I knew he could have saved it but they just wanted to kill it to:

1.) Be somewhat true to the book

2.) Make everyone cry.

cuz he could have just sedated it (heck, he could have made it pass out when he was choking it, but he decided to go all the way and kill it) and had another patient to work on, like one of his many rats, and the infected lady.

-also, there's enough spoiled in this thread that we pretty much don't need spoiler tags.

You think that movie is sad? You should watch this movie.....

Lilja 4 Ever

It will shock you to the core

But I must say that you should be emotionally prepared for what happens (and thus, should be at a mature age...)

Well i don't cry during movies but the saddest movie would probably have been The Iron Giant when he sacrificed himself to save the town from a missle.

(Yea i don't watch that many sad movies :P)

Heck when you think about it, lots of disney movies have sad things like parents dying (oh the list of dead parents and moms in disney cartoons) and things like that.

Hmmmm...

The Aviator I found to be a surprisingly sad movie. The protagonist (Howard Hughes) suffers from Obsessvie Compulsive Disorder, which completely destroys his life. I would tell the ending in a "Spoiler" box, but you know what's really, really sad?

I don't know how to make them

PS. I did not find I Am Sam to be sad in any way whatsoever. The thing that I find most "sad" is how so many people actually think he would have made a good parent in the end.
