I am extremely tired of being broke

but I dont know if i could doom a dying person to certain death if given the opportunity to save them.

Of course, one could argue that God intended that person to die, and by taking this "supernatural" offer (the mystery man) I would be messing with God's plan, but I dont believe in God really so I suppose I would want to the person to live so they could experience the rest of their life.

Unless theyre old, then I would take the money.

take the money.. and kill thousands upon thousands more with it :D

seriously... i don't know what'd i do unless actually faced with that situatiuon.. i can sit here and try to sound noble and say i'd save the person in a heartbeat.. but who knows... they're going to die eventually anyway.

Save the dying person. Honestly, I could never handle 100 thousand dollars, nor give it all to charity like many suggest. It's just too much...

Take the money, no question. If I ever feel bad about the decision I'll drop a big ol' bag of rice somewhere in Africa or something.

It's funny all the people saying they would take the money over saving someone's life would say the same thing if they actually were the one that was supposed to die. Kind of a double standard not well thought out, is it.

if the person is dying, they will most likely be in the process of dying again quite soon even after i save them, also i dont know them i take the money, and ill donate 1 million to charity to stop being from dying organization. people will love me.

it creates the illusion that i am generous because no one but me will know how much i inherited. also 1% is pretty huge. how many people that make 100k a year donate 1k to charity every year?... not many.

Well i'd probably feel like complete garbage letting them die even if I could help a lot of people with that money. So yeah I guess I would save them...plus it would be a little frowned on for someone pursuing my profession to let someone die for money hahah

Meh don't take it seriously most of them don't mean it. Also if they really need someone to explain the value of human life to them past age 13, they are not worth it.

Who else is REALLY sick of the "omg man thats not cool it r not r cool t0 take money omg i would save the guy"

You guys DO realize that ONE HUNDRED MILLION thousands, if not tens of thousands of lives, right? I wouldn't spend all of it, I would put 30 million in the bank and donate the rest to charity. It doesn't matter, the bottom line is that the life of one person is not greater than the lives of thousands of people. No matter HOW you look at it, it isn't. You could help fund charities, help the starvation problems in Africa, donate money to cure for aids, etc, there are so many possibilities.

There are plenty of lives worth less than 100 million dollars. I find it hilarious that people are judging people on the premise of this thread. Some people would save a the person, some who take the money. People value things differently. I, for one, would seriously take the money. I am going to look after my own interests first.

Eh probably save the person as many of you would if you were actually facing said sitiation.

Dystopian-X

Seems every man and his dog is making a thread like this a the moment. There's a film out with a similar concept isn't there? Really great imagination there kids...

But yeah, I agree. I'd save the person. Would you blow someone's brains out for 100 million? I sure as hell wouldn't, and there is no logical distinction between that and letting that same person die. Therefore, I would save them.

If you would have blown their brains out....well....congratulations Agent 47...

Who is anyone to say someone else especially a stranger they don't know is worth less then 100mil. But really it is not worth getting serious over a hypothetical question.

The problem is that it's indicative of how little we, as a culture/people, value human life in and of itself. There should really be no amount of money that would justify someone's death, but for a lot of people there obviously is. And that's sad, and it is perfectly appropriate to judge people on their response to the question, since the point of the question is to ask what you value more, money, or people.

Even though the world is not as completly screwed up as it used, I still find a shocking number of people who lack any decency and compassion. Mostly on the internet *wink* *wink*, trying to act tough

Take the money, then with that money stage a public scenario in which I refuse the money to 'help' an actor I've hired to play the part of the guy that I would have saved. Win-win.

I'd feel like an accessory to manslaughter if I left the person there to die. Also, I know from the OP that this person and I would become great friends. I wouldn't be friends with a scumbag, so the guy must be worth saving. I'd save the poor dying fellow.

No because as soon as you get your fingers on that money, the person has had his/her last breath.

Depends on who the person is and how badly he's suffering. If I can pull a Jesus and just heal him with my touch then I will. Money would be great but if I we're dying, I'd want someone to choose me over cash.

This is how I want the people in this thread to view this as. To put yourself in the position of the dying person, wouldn't you want to be saved?
