Seems there will be a class action lawsuit to prevent this kind of discrimination.

Apparently it's considered racist to tell an illegal immigrant they aren't in the country legally and enforce immigration laws.
Obviously if they resort to using racist terms when talking to Latinos I disagree with that and they shouldn't be allowed to do so. But if somebody commits a crime I don't see why somebody should be offended if they ask for ID.

They pull over people who are not commiting crimes.
Of course the police are angels and racism is never existing in this world.

Proof?
[QUOTE="ad1x2"]The phrase illegal immigrant is deemed racist now, some website was calling Fox News racist for using the term...Correctly. You have to call them migrants now and give them citizenship.Apparently it's considered racist to tell an illegal immigrant they aren't in the country legally and enforce immigration laws.

That's really the mindset of the liberals in this country. They don't understand that illegal = illegal.
Here they are **** there aren't enough jobs and are all for immigration.
Logic 101.
If your not Native American shut the **** up about illegal immigrants.Banjo_KongfooieThen you really shouldnt have started this thread since that is exactly where the discussion is going to be going. Maybe in 100yrs things will change but until then the people that hop over the fence from the south are mostly going to be unwanted by the general public and thought of as dangerous and part of a big problem with drugs in this country.
If your not Native American shut the **** up about illegal immigrants.Banjo_Kongfooie
Still waiting on that proof.

The laws that were in place back then aren't the same as the laws in place today. You can't really compare the two. We have to make some kind of standard for who can come in the country, otherwise if anybody who had the means to enter was allowed in we would be flooded with people from third world countries looking for a better life.
[QUOTE="Banjo_Kongfooie"]If your not Native American shut the **** up about illegal immigrants.Wasdie
I'm pretty sure that argument is crap. How many societies today exist becasue of peaceful co-operation with their ancestors? None. Deal with it.
I think the Australians would be the closest but thats only because the indigenous people live in the desert where civilized people live along the coasts. But they really dont interface with each other all that much either.

Proof?
In the southern states, you're carded when crossing a state junction, regardless of committing a crime. At least that's how it works in Texas and California, but if they're in Arizona I'm sure they still have checkpoints there too.In the southern states, you're carded when crossing a state juncture, regardless of committing a crime. Still waiting on that proof.
Or were you referencing the former question of proof. There are multiple instances of racial profiling and five individuals came forward with the action law suit. That is the only proof I need.

When you live in the Southern states close to the Mexican border, they have like mini-borders where you have to provide ID before crossing, I've never bothered 'protecting' my constitutional rights by not giving the officers my Id because it's not worth my time, but they do ask for ID/proof of citizenship for everyone in the vehicle. For example.
I live semi-annually in Brownville Texas, and to leave that city you MUST provide ID.

So? You're implying that because our ancestors took this land in a less than reasonable means (like all of Europe and Asia btw) we should somehow let illegal immigration become legal?
It has nothing to do with the topic at hand. You're trying to change the topic to something completely unrelated.

You mean proof that the Europeans raped and pillaged the Native American society. The United States was founded upon near- genocide of the Native population.

The latter, of course.
So you have no proof, just anecdotal evidence?

Ah. I don't see anything wrong with that. We routinely set up checkpoints to check for drivers licenses, proof of insurance, valid registration, etc.

True, I'm Hispanic, but I have a white skin complication so when they see my name 'Javier' I get a dirty look. They actually asked my mother for her 'papers' and she's Puerto Rican, she told the officers to F-off(due to his tone), and he told her she needed to provide her 'immigration papers'(She provided her PR birth Certificate which is in Spanish)the idiot had to call for confirmation on PR being a common wealth state. The problem with the law isn't the targeting of illegals, it's the potential for abuse by harrassing citizens who's skin is the wrong pigmentation.
worlock77
Yes thank you, this as well. Even if you are against the "illegal immigration" than you can still be against these unreasonable laws.
Plus we have a wide open border. If most Americans support xenophobia and billingual language than why not build a wall like China did?
You all do know that the Mexicans that so many dislike in the South are natives of this continent. They belong here more than Europeans do.Banjo_KongfooieThe reason they are "disliked' is because they enter the US without all the hardships that immigrants from other countries must go through. Then there is the fact that many do not pay taxes but do partake on many of the services that use. They work below cost which is good for the employer but bad for citizens and again do not pay taxes. Then there is the drug and gang problem that many bring with them. Really it's the mexican govnt fault for not providing enough security and stability that thier citizens flee to the north. Also make up your mind. Is it mexicans or Native Americans that are natives.
I live in Arizona and think Sheriff Joe is doing a great job. He does crime sweeps that result in many people being arrested, not just for being illegal, but selling drugs, etc.
I will admit that he does racially profile, but I'm pretty sure they can't ask for your legal documents unless you're already breaking the law; speeding, jay walking, disturbing the peace, etc. And when you're breaking the law they ask everyone for their identification.

So anyone who looks remotely similar to the Mexican stereotype is treated differently. Many people do not know all the cultures which is why we have "Black" "White" "Asian" and "Hispanic/Latino" as descriptions of "race".
So they are punishing law abiding latinos because our government can not gaurd the border. Personally I do not blame people seaking a better life. It is like me leaving a stack of benjamins out in the open and being made someone grabed my money pile.
Guys, Banjo is troll.

We don't have a wide open border and xenophobia has nothing to do with this. BTW, China's wall if centuries old.DarkOfKnight
We have a fence... And it does not even cover the whole border.

Pardon? So you want to yell them at them for NOT protecting the border WHILE preventing them from doing just that? How is that fair? Also White is the race, we do take account for ethnicity.[QUOTE="coolbeans90"]

Because you "points" are flawed by design with the intention of provoking people.
Now lets send all those troops that arent in Iraq anymore and send them to secure the border and solve this problem.
Why do white people hate minorities so much?VanHelsingBoA64
They don't hate minorities, while some racists do, whites hate people who break the law, just like all other ethnic groups that are American citizens.

No idea to be honest. My role models are Ghandi, MLK, and Lincoln so I do not but each to his own.
Imo I would rather we have a dictatorship under a kind dictator than what we have now. Congress is a joke.
How stupid, 99% of illegals are gonna be Latino.
This is whining and political correctness to the max.
Anyone else thinks its kinda weird that their was alot of trouble a few months ago with Steven Seagal, who allegedly killed a puppy?
Well 99% of KKK members are white. But's a good thing cops don't profile racist fcks such as yourself. How stupid, 99% of illegals are gonna be Latino.
