Should businesses have the right to drug test people for low-level positions?

Yes, a business should have the right to screen out it's employees in this fashion. Drugs and a criminal record are about the only things they can use to look into prospective employees anymore.

I think that should be entirely up to the employer. Their employees are a reflection of the business. If a business employs drug addicts, if could negatively influence their image among the general public.

They should be tested for all jobs, if they fail the police should be contacted and they should be jailed.

This idea that society gets to do whatever it wants while it's at work is why America has fallen in the workplace. If you are paid to do a job you do that job to the very best of your ability every second of ever hour.

Wow, that is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. I can't even imagine how fast our jails would fill up...

On the job? Sure... you're not supposed to be on anything at work... off the job because they think you might be doing something in your spare time? Hell no.

That is very naive. Some people like doing recreation drugs, nothing is going to stop them. Locking people up for failing a drug test would overcrowd our prisons in a matter of weeks, despite your disapproval of drug use, not everyone feels the same way.
