[QUOTE="swizz-the-gamer"]No ones saying marijuana isn't bad for you. But it's up to the individual to decide what they puts inside their body, not the goverment. All drugs should be legal.LJS9502_basic

Actually without government intervention in what you put in your body the health standards for food products and restaurants would be disgusting. Government should step in and regulate some aspects of consumption. If it's dangerous it shouldn't be accepted.

If a restaurant makes clear that the food is dirty and explains clearly the effects the disgusting food might have then they should be able to serve what they want.

imo no, and for one reason only

Because if it becomes legal, it will cause more sersious drug to be the new gateway drug.

Instead of smoking weed, a lot more people will be doing meth and cocain

Infinite-Zr0

What a load of absolute rubbish. Weed does not make anyone do anythin, a person has the free will to do or not do anythin they choose and choosing to smoke meth or use coke is entirely their own decision and nothin else.

As i stated earlier, people are led to believe this by the media and so blindly believe it forgoin any and all rational thought.

Tell that to a group of recovering meth addicts I had the oppurtunity to talk to at my church. :|Weed was one of main gateway drugs used by them with the exception of one guy who started on speed. I would rather we not have any of that crap in this country or elsewhere. Call me a prude, I don't care, I don't want that crap destroying people.

This debate will go on forever. There will always be hordes of closed-minded sheep who believe that because they disagree with something, they have the right to ban everyone else from doing it.

Weed, abortion, gun rights, porn, etc.

ALL form of smoking should be illegal. I'm sick of people smoking and making us breathe it. They're the reason people are dying from 2nd hand smoking. If they were to make it legal, they should increase the taxes on them by a lot and donate that money to the hospitals!Spirit_Warriors

Do you have any evidence to back up that claim?

Absolutely it should be legal. Not only would the economy take a large boost from this (recirculating "black market" money back into the economy), the crime rate would go down a significant chunk. I'm not going to claim that it's harmless, but it's much less harmless than say tobacco or alcohol.

I have no problem with alcohol, hell John Wayne had whiskey a time or two, but weed seems a little stupid, considering you can just buy a cigarette pack and smoke just as easily. Not sure what all the hype about getting "high" is, does it relieve stress? That's bs because most people in the suburbs that do it are living happy lives, what stress would they have, seriously?mohfrontline

If you haven't smoked before then read about the effects of marijuana. Don't let your ignorance dictate your opinion. But as someone who smokes cigarettes and mairjuana from time to time, they are completely different feelings.

No one is forcing you to breathe anything. If someone is standing next to smoking a cigarette, you can easily walk five feet away and get away from it. Do you know anyone who has died from second hand smoke? Also why should they increase taxes? What is the reasoning behind that?

Absolutely. In any country that wants to consider itself free, the citizenry should be allowed to do whatever they choose to do with their own minds and bodies so long as it does not impose on anyone else's mind or body.

Are you kidding me? There are a ton of dumbasses who smoke in closed places and just blow smoke in ur face. Also, people do die of second hand smoke and my uncle did die of lung cancer. Lung cancer can be caused by smoking too, or second hand smoke, i believe. Increase the taxes because it makes YOU pay more for your stupid ciggarettes and at least it'll pay a little for the people you hurt with ur stupid smoke.

These 2 videos deserve to be in this thread. I HIGHLY recommend watching, stand up comedian Bill Hicks, great man, saw through all the bs. The second video is his answer on the subject :P I REALLY don't see how anyone can watch the second video and not agree.

Closed places? Name one. Most of the places that usually had smoking sections (namely bars and restaurants) don't anymore because of bans. Even if you can name one, how hard is it to move? Are you too lazy to walk a few feet and get out of the way? It isn't that hard. Unless you are continualy around a smoker, the chance of getting any sort of disease from second hand smoke is very low. I'm sorry your uncle died, but unless you know the circumstances from it, to simply blame marijuana or cigarettes is folly.

When I smoke, I smoke outside, and usually keep a distance from people who don't smoke. But that isn't even the point. The point is why marijuana should be legal.

In short... yes i think it should be legal.... few reasons

1. Ive witnessed many more fights while bouncing that started from Alcohol and not pot.

2. It can seriously help some people with health issues (cancer, people who have lost alot of weight)

3. In my opinion its not nearly as bad for you as alcohol or tobacco
