Do you consider all of Europe arrogant too since that article includes them?

I think he just read the thread title and posted
The arrogance aside, why should Russia be punished in the first place?BlackAlpha666
because they mobilized troops and tanks to safeguard the lives of many Russians in south ossetia...

Oh no, that's horrible! Russia deserves to be nuked for trying to help people! Only the US can help people, Russia is not allowed to do that! After all, we need somebody to fight against. If Russia becomes good, than who will we fight?

Yes that was their reason. Just like the Germans just wanted to help the world in WW 2.
No -- the US should mind its own business for once.Haziqonfire
When it involves a valued ally, it IS their business.

Is Russia invading the entire Georgian country? You'd think that the Americans at least would understand what's going on in this conflict, as the Americans were the ones who wanted to break away from England and settle their own country and they did it through war for obvious reasons.
Is Russia invading the entire Georgian country?
BlackAlpha666
They certainly didn't keep it within the ossetian region.

They only went to the two regions who wanted to separate themselves from Georgia. They didn't invade any other regions. They only bombed the other regions "tactically"; Unlike Georgia, who bombed to kill as many civilians as possible and raze an entire city.

Why does this keep popping up in every Russia-Georgia thread? There has NEVER been a legitimate vote for independence by South Ossetia.

Ok, that means nobody knows whether they want to be independent or not, officially at least. But after what Georgia did to them, I'm sure the South Ossetians will be pissed and won't trust the Georgian government anymore. It's so obvious that a vote isn't needed anymore.
Would you trust your government if you knew they wanted to kill you and could attack you at any moment? I don't think so.

Huh? You make it sound like this was a recent turn of events that Georgia instigated. That is blatantly false. The conflict between South Ossetian rebels and Georgia has been going on for decades.
Russia were wrong to attack Georgia...
But taking the punishment too far could mean disaster for some countries if Russia decided to cut all trading in Oil, Energy and Gas. It's important to show Russia how much everybody comdemns these attacks, but all the smaller allied countries in the east shouldn't get punished as well because of it.
You guys are spineless...the world should be punishing Russia...some of you guys have NO clue what you are talking about. Russia did everything they could to provoke Georgia to attack. People are ignoring the fact that Russian Separatists were attacking Georgian villages long before the Georgian offensive began. Right now the Russian media is churning out all of the information they can to make it seem like Georgia is the villian of this conflict. They have gone as far to say American and Ukrainian mercenaries are fighting for Georgia. They even interviewed a woman who swore she saw a soldier in black with an American logo on this shoulder.

Disinformation campaign being run by the Russian media...clearly it is working.
This isn't about anything other than Russia trying to make an example of what happens to former block nations that try to jump out of Russia's sphere of influence. Why else would they be pushing so hard for a regime change?....Why else would they block any attempt to have non-Russian peace keepers in the region? Roughly 2000 people have died thus far in the conflict (all of which Russia is claiming is directly from Georgia's military...I have news for you...Russia has been bombing and shelling Georgia throughout the conflict. They even shelled O.S. for the short amount of time Georgian troops occupied it. Its not like civilians in the area can tell the difference between Georgian Artillery and Russian Artillery.
UnknownSniper65
Well, I might change my mind if I see reports of the total Georgian casulties. Right now I didn't see anything that would indicate that Russia killed loads of civilians. But the casulties and damage report from the South Ossetian capital, came in before Russia started bombing inside South Ossetia. So, it would be far fetched to think that it was actually Russia who razed the entire city and killed all the civilians.

You are missing the point. Are you saying that Georgia had the right to raze the city and kill all the civilians? Do you think those people still want to be part of Georgia after Georgia's shelling of the city?
No, Russia should punish US for invading and killing civil people in Iraq.Flotsam
Yeah because Russia didn't kill civilians in the last 24 hours.

No one knows who razed the city...both sides were shelling the city at one point or time. No, we shouldn't. We don't need another war, we do not have many troops too fight them off and any way it is not our place to.StealthKing93

It goes both way with the US in Iraq.

No one knows who razed the city...both sides were shelling the city at one point or time.Like I said before, the report of estimated 1400 civilian casulties came in BEFORE Russia was involved. This report could be false because Georgia said there were only 100 civilian casulties but Georgia was wrong (or lied) about other things, so I don't trust everything they say.
Yeah, i would like to see world war 3.
Just think, less countries, less people, which means that us normal people have more of a chance of becoming rich or powerfull because the other rich and powerfull people may be gone.

You are forgetting that Rich people dont fight wars only poor people do.

...Georgia has always had problems with separatists.
" I am right and your wrong" - pretty much sums up your response....you didn't even give any logical backing behind your agrument.
I am not saying the US should respond using violence (that is the LAST thing I want),but I do believe that the US should punish Russia in some way (even if it is as minor as boycotting Russia's meeting with NATO members)...or atleast warn Russia it cannot boss its neighbors around
