lmao enlighten me then, what's the take away other than Trump getting his jimmies rustled by a bunch of Broadway actors?

Nice try with the trolling.
But to be fair , it's a sad country where a man cannot go to a broadway show and be left alone for the duration of the show. Despite freedom of speech, at least act like a grownup and not like a 5year old child. If you want to protest, go do it outside.
Barack Obama's take on the Trump/Brexit phenomenon:
Obama to New Yorker: "Nothing is the end of the world until the end of the world"
On the post-truth society:
The new media ecosystem “means everything is true and nothing is true,” Obama told me later. “An explanation of climate change from a Nobel Prize-winning physicist looks exactly the same on your Facebook page as the denial of climate change by somebody on the Koch brothers’ payroll. And the capacity to disseminate misinformation, wild conspiracy theories, to paint the opposition in wildly negative light without any rebuttal—that has accelerated in ways that much more sharply polarize the electorate and make it very difficult to have a common conversation.”
That marked a decisive change from previous political eras, he maintained. “Ideally, in a democracy, everybody would agree that climate change is the consequence of man-made behavior, because that’s what ninety-nine per cent of scientists tell us,” he said. “And then we would have a debate about how to fix it. That’s how, in the seventies, eighties, and nineties, you had Republicans supporting the Clean Air Act and you had a market-based fix for acid rain rather than a command-and-control approach. So you’d argue about means, but there was a baseline of facts that we could all work off of. And now we just don’t have that.”
On a side note, this phenomenon was predicted by Metal Gear Solid 2 back in 2001:
Flashback: How 'Metal Gear Solid 2' Foretold Our Post-Truth Future
That New Yorker article with Obama was fantastic. Dude is so above and beyond Trump in every single way it's staggering.
I've seen some signs that might be abating in the future. I've seen some rumblings from the Breitbart/Fox News/Limbaugh crowd that we need a new news network because nobody fact checks anymore.
Granted, many of these people are the same ones who called fact checkers liberal rags in the recent past so perhaps they're just looking for fact checkers that reinforce what their networks of choice tell them, but I'm holding out hope that perhaps Trump's election has started to erase some of the sheen from the "tell me what I want to hear" news sources.
Michael Gove, former "Education Secretary" and a leading Brexit campaigner: “People in this country have had enough of experts.” This is coming from a former "Education Secretary" who, rather than promoting education, is instead bashing education.
This basically sums up the Trump/Brexit mindset. It's basically the Dunning-Kruger effect on a widespread scale. Experts who have decades of experience in fields like science, politics and economics are now being undermined by arrogant laymen who have no experience in these fields yet think they know better than the experts.
@n64dd:
"Couldn't be happier. Get rid of this PC/SJW bullshit. We've become a nation of pussies."
You have absolutely nailed the ignorant and simplistic Trump supporter in that statement. Right on the money. That is exactly how stupid they sound.
Don't be a SJW. You're better than that.

Hahahaha a 5 year old child? Do you even know what they said? Here, let me help you out:
“Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you, and we truly thank you for joining us here at ‘Hamilton: An American Musical.’ We really do,” Dixon said to further applause. “We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us. Again, we truly thank you truly for (sharing) this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations.”
Oh wow look at that verbal assault thrust at Vice President-elect Pence! How will the man cope after such an onslaught? They can "protest" where ever they want, especially if it's their own damn show. lol christ it's amazing how fucking dumb you are Jacanuk, it really is. You make N64DD look like a Rhodes scholar and he's just trolling 90% of the time.

In case you missed it, i did not say anything about the cast´s response to a bunch of idiots who decided to yell at Pence.
I was referring to the idiots , which i thought was pretty clear.
The cast only responded and no one not even Trump has said anything against that. All the responses are again about the idiots who decided to turn a peaceful show into a political protest cryfest. (And yes i know the show is about politics, but a show is a show)

They shouldn't have said anything. What pathetic snowflakes. I don't pay to see some political rant, I pay to see people put on a show.
What do you expect from actors though?

What the hell are you talking about? Trump's tweet is precisely about the CAST, can you not read? It was that that he was offended by not the crowd booing.

Like... it can't be any more clear cut than this. Trump's tweets have 0 to do with the people in the crowd but the cast of the show. Why you decided to go on a tangent and talk about the crowd, I have no idea.

... But it's a show related to politics, specifically about one of the most influential Founding Fathers. How is that not a good place to spread a political message considering the future Vice-President is in the audience? What he paid for is irrelevant the world doesn't revolve solely around Mike Pence.

You are right, forgot for a second that it´s Trump. His response is pointed towards the wrong people.
Anyways the problem is not the cast´s response to a bunch of idiots who cannot deal with a loss. The problem is Pence being harassed while having a quiet night out , if people can´t deal with that they should have been removed and banned from the show for a long time.

There is a time and place for everything , and protesting against anyone who peacefully is there to watch a show, inside the theater is not the time or place. As i've said they should have been civil and intelligent enough to take it outside.

Lol wow. I guess Trump needed a Trigger Warning. Maybe find an appropriote safe space for him while we are at it.
This is why I said it before and said it again. Anyone who actually beLIEved that Trump would put a nail in the PC bubble is seriously delusional. Trump is nearly as bad as Anita Sarkeesian.
No I am not, but between Hillary and Trump, I am glad it was Trump.
I am somewhat perplexed as to how the merry hell the US ended up with those two as choices. Something must have gone VERY wrong somewhere.
I was never enthusiastic about Trump. As much as I enjoyed watching the media clutch their pearls every time Trump would open his mouth, I couldn't get on board. But the media really got a nice dose of reality, and a swift kick the ass, and the tears are still flowing. But overall, I had a hard time taking him as a serious candidate with some of the things he said. Not presidential material from the looks of it, but we shall see. Perhaps he will surprise us.

Still not talking about the cast.
The cast again responded to the people yelling at pence and causing a problem.
It´s those people who are kids and should know better, but to be fair they are progressives and liberals so i may be expecting something that is out of their reach

What do you mean "know better"? The theatre doesn't exist solely to please and comfort Mike Pence, nor does it need to be polite to him. Theatre is art and art is also meant to disrupt and confront society, including societal figures. This includes other patrons as well. Besides, Pres. Obama had way worse stuff directed his way and he always takes it in stride and doesn't lash out like a petulant child. Something that Mr. Trump continues to do again and again. Not quite a Presidential attitude, hm?
That is what happens when you're a public figure representing the people. You are either forgetting or just ignoring altogether that the people are Trump and Pence's boss - they answer to the American people, NOT the other way around. If Mike Pence and Donald Trump are really that thin skinned that they can't take being booed then they are doing the wrong job, and should probably run off to their safe space. Which is even more ironic since Mr. Trump has demeaned and insulted plenty of people over the course of the last 18 months.
The irony in general is just mind-blowing that conservatives claim liberals are "thin-skinned SJWs retreating to safe spaces" yet Mr. Trump and his Vice-President can't even handle simple booing. It's pathetic.
From the point of view of Trump vs Clinton, I'm ok-ish with the result. Although some concerns about climate change stuff and abortion stuff.
From the point of view of the beginning of the primaries, it's an absolute car crash result. I would've liked to see Rand Paul vs Bernie Sanders.
Pretty cool how equally this forum is divided btw. Quite rare to get political equilibrium forming naturally. Usually you get 1 side slightly larger who then bully and shout at the other side until they retreat.
@perfect_blue: Trudeau is a cancer to Canada. They won because the pot legalization promise. I'm 100% anti liberal party and all they stand for. They legalized sex with animals as long as there's no penetration too , that's a great legacy
The firing of male members of his cabinet to achieve a 50/50 split between the sexes was more than enough to know Trudeau is a clown. Onyl morons use the "because reasons" argument in any fashion, and he loves to do it. The sex with animals thing, is that true? If so, what the shit?!
Huh? He didn't fire anyone. He named a 50/50 split for his cabinet since day one. As for the bestiality thing, that was a Supreme Court decision clarifying an existing law - had nothing to do with Trudeau.
The dude you are quoting knows absolutely nothing about Canada, lol at the thought of them winning just because of weed legalization. NDP had that same position in the election and they came third and lost a ton of seats.
I'm sorry, but the mere fact that he ever even considered having a 50/50 split between the sexes, rather than getting the utmost qualified in each position shows me what I thought of him before Canadians gave him power for some reason: His daddy was PM, he is just like so many children of powerful people, and he is nothing but an ultra privileged doofus with no experience, nor the character to govern. He is lucky that the people around him are not like the sharks we have in American politics. They can steer him like a W Bush.
@perfect_blue: I've been voting for 22 years in Canada I know what's going on in my country. Ya a liberal supreme Court justice legalized bestiality , supreme Court appointments are all politically appointed. Our dollar is in terrible shape which it wasn't before Trudeau. And the refugees he's bringing here they're fast tracking laws so they can vote which is bullshit ,they shouldn't be here at all. Worst prime minister ever.
@perfect_blue: Don't try to convince our Canadian Alt-Right, they're still butthurt about Harper losing and even if you present any sort of fact to them they will always dismiss Trudeau as an Art teacher who got elected due to his smiles, selfies and last name.
I wasn't a Trudeau supporter but even I can admit that he did lots of good to this country and is gradually undoing the damage that Harper left behind.

Do you really think that Pence was the only person who got disturbed by the booing and yelling? people are there to watch a show, not to cry and whine and act like small kids who are still upset they did not get their favorite candy. Did most of the people do it, perhaps but not everyone started and people tend to act on a flock instinct.
And i do not care who the person is, the issue is disturbing a night out for people and also the person in question. I support people's right to express their views, but again there is a time and place. And that is not the place or time for that. Also i'm surprised that the Theater staff didn´t deal with the situation and throw out the instigators.
Also that is not what happens when you are a public figure in office, that is what happens when liberals act like kids and think it's ok to go outside normal and proper decorum. If that had been anyone else they would have been allowed to watch the show in peace.
Couldn't be happier. Get rid of this PC/SJW bullshit. We've become a nation of pussies.

My favorite part was when Trump requested a safe space.
omfg 46% yes?
wow. just wow Gamespot.
The poll results here are quite similar to the election results, in terms of popular vote.
right, but Trump's post-election performance (i.e. his choices) have been alienating a lot of his less bigoted, drain-the-swamp supporters, i.e. "I don't like Trump and I am not a shithead, but I don't like Clinton more" voters.
I would have thought we'd have seen a reflection of that here.
Ah well, I guess they're going to stick by their man after all. That's admirable.
@mattbbpl: lol yup. I think Pence retreated to one in the hallway, too.
and I love this term "snowflake" that has been used of late. I know it's been used for a long time, but I've been seeing it a lot on the gun-toting bimbo's blogs a lot, like "oooh look, a conservative hot chick that shoots guns calling liberals 'snowflakes' hahaha that's cool look guys we have hot girls too!"
man I thought the shit talking would lessen when THE EXCESSIVE TWO YEAR ELECTION PROCESS was over with but I guess I was wrong :(
man I thought the shit talking would lessen when THE EXCESSIVE TWO YEAR ELECTION PROCESS was over with but I guess I was wrong :(
Although the change started earlier, I think the last administration has more or less permanently changed the political tenor and process. Bipartisanship is dead, polarization will continue to grow, and the election process will get longer and longer (as long as their are funds to support it, really).
The well has been thoroughly poisoned.
@perfect_blue: I've been voting for 22 years in Canada I know what's going on in my country. .... Supreme Court appointments that Trudeau had nothing to do with. And our dollar has been terrible for a while, even before Trudeau came into power. If you really have been voting for 22 years then wow, I'm stunned because you seem pretty ignorant of what's actually going on in the country. Are you from Alberta?
I'm sorry, but the mere fact that he ever even considered having a 50/50 split between the sexes, rather than getting the utmost qualified in each position shows me what I thought of him before Canadians gave him power for some reason: His daddy was PM, he is just like so many children of powerful people, and he is nothing but an ultra privileged doofus with no experience, nor the character to govern. Who cares? It's only ever white men who seem to give a shit about the 50/50 cabinet split... gee I wonder why. And also pretty damn offensive if you think just because it's 50/50 that your first thought goes to the women and men not being qualified for the job and only there for their genders. Especially coming after Harper who gave out cabinet positions like lollipops to his closest buddies and cadre of Yes Men.
Again, Trudeau has been an MP in Montreal since 2008. Say what you want about political nepotism and privilege but to claim he doesn't have experience is just ignorant and your comment about his character is even more stunning. It's been a year since he came into the power and the country is still in the honeymoon period... Trudeau is very popular here even with people who didn't vote for him. It is clear to any idiot that his mandate has been very successful thus far and is governing the country well. Stark differences already and I fully support him erasing each and every aspect of Harper's regime.
@perfect_blue: Don't try to convince our Canadian Alt-Right, they're still butthurt about Harper losing and even if you present any sort of fact to them they will always dismiss Trudeau as an Art teacher who got elected due to his smiles, selfies and last name.

Yeah, good point. I'll let them go back to jerking off to pictures of Kellie Leitch.
I can identify and relate to that frustration somewhat, but there's a fine line between being politically incorrect and anti-SJW, and being an intolerant bigot. Trump's extremist antics and rhetoric have conflated the two and enabled people to be the latter while cowardly shielding themselves under the guise of rejecting political correctness so as to justify it. As far as I'm seeing it, Trump has largely succeeded in redefining what is morally acceptable through his rise and influence. The rejection of political correctness is now the go-to cop-out excuse to act in whichever way one sees as suitable.
Hadn't political correctness corrupted everything it could touch, Trump would have stopped his run long before the mainstream even started acknowledging him as a possible presidential candidate. Blaming everything on one side and rejecting any merit his persona has is precisely the reason why he won. People are tired of this bullshit.
Trump would've stopped nothing. Trump is in it for Trump.
I understand people are tired of this bullshit, but Jesus. Getting rid of political correctness in the manner Trump has done holds immense negative consequences, that of which we're witnessing: hate crimes rising (there've been more reports in the days since the election than in the last six months). I'd much sooner live in a society that is overly-politically correct yet retains our moral grounding which discourages people from indulging in their baser natures than one where no political correctness exists due to the disregarding of that moral standing by Trump and therefor affords license to those of questionable morals and values to come out of their holes and act them out negatively upon others. This is affecting peoples' lives, don't people get that? It isn't just some "yea, **** PC SJW cucks!" narrative that people are joyously embracing. It is enabling intolerance to proliferate and manifest unobstructed through such a narrative.
There are other ways to fight against political correctness than to attack and debase the fabric of what has traditionally been viewed as morally acceptable by us as a people, which is what Trump has done. That's why he disgusts me as a person, and that's why I hate him. It's the textbook definition of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. You wish to destroy political correctness, I can understand (and even relate to) that.....but at what cost? I'm not willing to sacrifice my morals (or the morals that I believe this nation needs to abide by) to do so, where it appears so many are. That's what's so saddening.
@perfect_blue: I've been voting for 22 years in Canada I know what's going on in my country.
I wasn't a Trudeau supporter but even I can admit that he did lots of good to this country and is gradually undoing the damage that Harper left behind.
Yeah, good point. I'll let them go back to jerking off to pictures of Kellie Leitch.
Trudeau could fill his cabinet with black lesbians. I dont give a shit, as long as they are the most qualified. By your token, I must be ecstatic that nothing but white men are getting key positions in Donald Trump's cabinet. Just because you view the 50 50 split to be solely annoying to white men, this non critique does nothing to explain away why it is a stupid idea to hire people to fill quotas, like they are raw materials, rather than giving the most qualified people the positions. But I dunno, maybe we are reaching a time where it is not extremely condescending for a man to not expect women to adhere to the same standards as men, and give them a token job. That is not at all treating women like they are not equal to men, right?
@perfect_blue: I've been voting for 22 years in Canada I know what's going on in my country. Ya a liberal supreme Court justice legalized bestiality , supreme Court appointments are all politically appointed. Our dollar is in terrible shape which it wasn't before Trudeau. And the refugees he's bringing here they're fast tracking laws so they can vote which is bullshit ,they shouldn't be here at all. Worst prime minister ever.
Trudeau is following Center for American Progress (CAP)'s agenda. Getting the queue jumpers to vote are the same tactics as in USA's blue states.
Canada 2020 and the Center for American Progress are members of Global Progress.
Hell no we not happy, the American people voted for Hillary, fack Trump.
Trump has local majority at per state level.
@ronvalencia: Yeah, no one cares. Hillary won the American majority vote and won by a large amount.
Wait, so 0.6% is a large amount?
Trump himself would've "stopped nothing" means jack. Nobody would have bothered listening to him and he would've lost support immediately. You know that pretty much everyone, including a good chunk of his electors, dislike him, right? They just dislike the alternative even more.
Half the hate crime stories were fabricated, the other ones haven't been found out to be fabricated yet, and the ones that are rioting aren't "hate criminals" and Trump supporters. They're Trump haters. If you wanna call out one faction on its crimes and its effect on people's lives and you choose Trump's side you're full of shit and there is no discussion to be had here, cause you're denying facts.
I don't give a shit about people's feelings on Trump and the groups he supposedly emboldened, I want to see actual long-lasting consequences of these groups. And until I see them levelling a city I won't believe for a second that they're "negatively acting upon others" any worse than Trump haters are.
And moral grounding? Are you f***ing kidding me? Literally nobody in all of this has any moral grounding. People who openly support political correctness are some of the foulest, most abusive, childish and bigoted people I've ever seen. Their rhetoric is so fucking weak that if you swap out the words "black" and "white" or "women" and "men" in their own very posts they'll come at you teeth gnashing threatening to get you fired for being a racist sexist whateverist piece of shit (see post below).
The only reason the PC side hasn't already cannibalized itself from the inside out is because there is enough crap going on outside that they don't have the time to look at eachother's shenanigans. Don't act as if there even exists a "moral" faction here or any other sort of higher compass that keeps everything together because that's just plain false. The most moral thing to do here would be to bury the axe, look at eachother in the eyes and say "Can't we just start over? I'm really tired of this shit" and relegate the most extreme exponents of either side to Siberia.
Because they're the only ones with the morals to call out discrimination as a crime, as opposed to disparity which isn't. Something leftists know nothing about because if they didn't have double standards they'd have no standards at all. Zing.
Pretty cool how equally this forum is divided btw. Quite rare to get political equilibrium forming naturally. Usually you get 1 side slightly larger who then bully and shout at the other side until they retreat.
Yup, I agree with that.
Echo chambers are boring indeed.
@ronvalencia: Yeah, no one cares. Hillary won the American majority vote and won by a large amount.
Wait, so 0.6% is a large amount?
2016 National Popular Vote Tracker
Clinton - 63,541,056 (48%)
Trump - 61,864,015 (46.7%)
That's a difference of 1,677,041 votes and 1.3% so far. There are still many more votes left to count, so Clinton's lead over Trump will continue growing.
On a side note, the poll results on this site are virtually identical to the US national popular vote.
@ronvalencia: Yeah, no one cares. Hillary won the American majority vote and won by a large amount.
Yeah, no one cares. Trump won the majority vote at per state and won by a large amount.
@ronvalencia: Yeah, no one cares. Hillary won the American majority vote and won by a large amount.

According to 2012 Trump, 2016 Trump's election is a fraud:
The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 7, 2012
So which Trump is right? 2012 Trump vs. 2016 Trump.
@N30F3N1X:
Trump himself would've "stopped nothing" means jack. Nobody would have bothered listening to him and he would've lost support immediately. You know that pretty much everyone, including a good chunk of his electors, dislike him, right? They just dislike the alternative even more.
First you say "Trump would've stopped his run", now it's "Nobody would have bothered listening to him and he would've lost support immediately". I was objecting to your claim that Trump would've stopped his run on his own volition, which despite losing support or not, is rubbish. Trump would've never quit until he lost, and he still would've fought until the bitter end even if he had.
Link to your claims please. "Half were fabricated"? Prove it. Hate crime incident reports have skyrocketed since the election. I acknowledge some have been fabricated, but if you believe given Trump's behavior and antagonistic tone during his rise that none of it has been reflected upon his victory in the attitudes and actions of his followers (as you appear to be insinuating here), then you are the one who is full of shit. Just like to another poster I addressed a while back, the defense of "fabrications" and "you've no proof" will arise as apparently common sense and the understanding of basic human nature fails to suffice anymore.
I don't condone the rioters' actions, but at least I can take solace in the fact that they are standing up against bigotry and reprehensible fanaticism of the worst degree that Trump stands for. You believe we'd be hearing so many reports of the upsurge of hate crimes had Hillary won? Doubtful. Some Trump supporters, in victory, are going out and committing these acts due directly to his prepubescent, sexist, racist, xenophobic intolerant rhetoric and juvenile bullying antics which he held no compunction of espousing, bolstering, and encouraging during his campaign. Do you believe that no increase in hate crimes are happening at all, and/or they're all made up? Everyone knows they are occurring at a much higher rate since before the election, and everyone with any degree of intelligence understands why. The impassioned riots on Hillary's side are due to people being enraged at the triumph of intolerance and hate, whereas the defacements and assaults by Trump's side are due to the exuberance and enthusiasm from the success of it. That's a yuge distinction.
You can cite isolated incidents of civil unrest as holding greater consequence to the lives of many people presently. But after the dust settles and we come to normalize the bankruptcy of character and values that Trump represents and holds no hesitation towards embracing as suitable (and even admirable) for our nation and witness the policies that will be enacted predicated upon them, we will then see the true impact to people's lives not just in Portland, or Oakland....but everywhere. Unfortunately, this impact will be far less tangible than taking simple snapshots of explicit violence in the streets (how convenient for you), yet nevertheless will still hold terrible implications and ramifications far past what that violence could possibly incur. I've no doubt who is going to be causing more detrimental effect on so many in the future and in the long-term: it will be on Trump and his cronies that've enabled him, and no one else.
Your exaltation and advocation towards the cessation of political correctness is going to fade into a much more grim reality for many people due to the comprising of the values and morals that once helped enable it. Again, the baby out with the bathwater. It is possible to retain our moral principles whilst reducing political correctness instead of sacrificing them in its abolishment. I both disagree and agree with you: there is moral grounding to be found, I don't buy for a second there isn't, it's just been taken so far to the extreme as to render it morally ambiguous. I don't disagree that needs to be rectified, but not in the manner in which it is.
I don't give a shit about people's feelings on Trump and the groups he supposedly emboldened, I want to see actual long-lasting consequences of these groups. And until I see them levelling a city I won't believe for a second that they're "negatively acting upon others" any worse than Trump haters are.
Why do consequences need be long-lasting or so grievous in nature for you to take notice or care? We're seeing them currently, of which you dismissively toss aside and/or pull into question. You don't think people are being affected presently? The difference is that these riots will cease. The prejudice and intolerance that Trump has manifested and instilled in many of his supporters, however, won't subside. It'll fester and grow, emboldened further as Trump keeps to his word and past conduct.
