Do you think something will happen given that it's the 10th anniversary? There were talks about Osama planning stuff for the day.

In my opinion I don't think something will happen, but I've been hearing more about it lately.

I'm sure that there are alot of bad people in the world who would like to see something happen, but most likely nothing will happen.

Wouldn't doubt if someone tried something. America has pretty much shown the world that terrorism works pretty damn well.

I don't think anything will happen that day, but people will definitely be more cautious of their surroundings, especially those flying on planes that day.

9/11 was obviously a horrific event for the US, but America needs to accept the sad reality that the attacks weren't remotely special. Terrorists do not keep the date saved in their diaries. They do not plan some horrible attack every time the anniversary roles around, contrary to what some hysterical news outlets might want you to believe. Al queda have attacked England. They've attacked Spain. They attacked Bali. Istanbul. The Philippines. And for the last six or seven years they've attacked nowhere but Iraq. They don't have a special beef with America as we all think. They're being dicks all around the world, all year round.

so, you buy into the whole 'AMERICA IS UNDER EXTREME THREAT' bs. do you have any idea how irrelevant your country is to AQAP/AQIM/AQI at the moment? they dont even have enough money to fund their own, more important, domestic activities. Scared of terrorists running around with WMDs? Don't be, Al Qaeda had about $2,000 set aside for WMD development, and mostly on primitive chemical devices.

Quite frankly, that kind of attitude belongs in the last decade. The spectre of international terrorism was always just that, a spectre.

I think the terrorists job on the US is done. Thanks in not a small part to the US reaction to 9/11 their economy is in shambles and their political climate is going the same way. The US is starting to become less and less relevant and less and less powerful. In some time they won't be able to afford keeping bases in the ME or helping their allies. So in a way the terrorists have already won. People in the ME should start to look at China as their next key rival or ally.

uh...Im British. So I'm assuming you have direct knowledge of Al Qaeda's affairs? No. They are always planning, most are unlikely and will never happen but there are always a couple of radicalized terrorists willing to give up there life for the sake of revenge. The US are still conducting combat operations in Afganistan and Pakistan, so Al Qaeda will continue to attack them. I never said Al Qaeda had chemical weapons or nuclear bombs, I just said they still should be recognised as a threat to the USA. Don't assume I'm American.

I could replace America with Britain and what I said would be equally as valid for you. He's the one who brought a pragmatic streak to Al Qaeda's operations (which have been extremely limited... there isn't a global terrorist network out to steal your freedoms, rights, and ice cream), and Zawahiri is too busy running and hiding from US drones to be planning anything substantial.

-.- It seems you've missed my point entirely. I don't live my life in fear. The point is Al Qaeda will attack the US and other western countries. Its just their nature and you cannot change that. I never said Al Qaeda are a great big army with the power to invade and take over the USA or any other country but they DO POSE A VALID THREAT. That is my point, they are still active and they still pose a threat, it doesn't mean that a bombing is imminent but it could happen. Regardless of this, I don't live my life hiding from terrorists or bombs, this isn't WW3.
