Also from the UK and got 50%,I have never remotely taken much of an interest in American history.

Why not try the British one:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4099770.stm

It didn't accept my answer of Lapland or PG tips also you only buy a replacemtn pint early in the evening when you're sober later on it could lead to a fight

100% A pretty simple test. The actual Naturalization Test is much harder though and includes more than a multiple choice test.

I got 40%, but I'm Aussie and also guessed half of them.

Also, shouldn't the test be harder and more meaningful or something? I mean memorizing a bunch of useless facts shouldn't make you eligible for citizenship.

Or is the actual test different?

Not that I was able to take the test as it is not working for me, but I imagine it asks specific questions about the Constitution and such. In what way would this knowledge be at all beneficial to ANYONE's day-to-day life. Save lawyers and politicians, anyway?

Because you practice freedom of speech everyday and its good to know that you have that right. Perhaps you are taken into custody, there must be probable cause and the right to a fair and speedy trial. Things like that are good to know in everyday life. Anyway, back on topic, I got a 90%

Sure, these are good things to know. But knowing where in the Constitution to look for the specific rule is important why?

Who has the power to declare war, what rights are guaranteed by the constitution, etc. I consider those very important. Maybe not to everyday life, but definitely to anyone who's old enough to vote. I mean, apparently our last president didn't even understand that first one...

I don't know, call me old fashioned, but I feel that having a decent understanding of the constitution should be required for everyone in America. Our government is built on the idea that governments should be afraid of the people rather than the other way around, but how can we instill fear into the government and keep them honest if we don't even know what they can and can't do to begin with? What if someone tries to restrict free speech? Sure, people like me will fight to the death over it, but how many people would sit idly by and say "oh, well I'm sure it's in the best interests of the country. Besides, They're allowed to, they're the government!"

You don't need to "know the rules" or where they are to "fight to the death over it". I mean, these laws were written by man, do you think those original men were the only ones capable of such thought?

Your argument is unoriginal.

It is his argument that I agree with sir, I have adopted his own explanation because it explains it in a clearer, more precise manner than my own.
