Right wing nutjobs are so scary with their blind faith and endless amounts of firearms. Why can't they be more like the smelly, pot-smoking, hippie, fairly harmless left wing nutjobs?

And no, I'm not joking. She won't shut up about it either, all I'm hearing right now in the background is "the Anti-Christ is here" blahblahblah! I've tried everything I can to make her stop, but she won't. OT, what should I do? Earmuffs? Pillows? SOMETHING?

I am in agreement with your mom. Not really thats a really bad comparison. I don't like Obama but to compare him to Hitler is overdoing it

Older uneducated generations don't have a clue, and are fixed in their ways. Just let her live her life out with her beliefs, and write it off as a (misguided) character trait of her generation. The older the person is, the more resistant to change they become. Leave it be and roll your eyes behind the scenes.

this is a false generalization and in a way you are simply hating on people cause they are old. You have no proof shes uneducated or that her generation is uneducated. It just comes off that you have a superiority complex and feel you are better than anyone who is "old" in your book. Just the way I read your post, likely not what you meant.

No, not what I meant, but you read it the way you did. The older a person gets, the more "set" in their ways they become. This is what I was getting at- perhaps it is better to sometimes let older generations alone, and just focus on your generation, the generation that matters and can make a difference.

Again the way your saying it sounds like your saying that only the generation, im guessing here at the range your saying, is around 16-30ish atm? They are the only people that matter now. I personally feel that every person matters because every person in this country over 18 can vote. 5 million 80 year old voters can make just as much difference as 5 million 20 year old voters.

I was thinking 18-45. It may be that many policy makers are 45-75, but they do not reflect the will of the majority of the current general populace. There may be a current rule that you cannot be elected president unless you are over 35, but when the majority of policies affect the working man, what good is it to have old-skool geriatrics dictating their future?

Policy affects everyone. Old people are not necessarily affected less by legislation than "the working man" (by which you mean what? The employed? The labor force?). Also, many old people do work, so even if working people are more affected by policy, that would include the working seniors. the will of the majority is not necessarily what should be advocated, unless you like mob rule.

well to be fair Glenn has been on record of calling Obama racist and has compared his administration to the nazis. Now he is also on record of saying Obama is not the anti-christ back in 08, but given the other things he accuses him and his administratrion of it's easy to see where one could make that leap and believe he would call him such a thing.

My dad is the same way and we are Canadian (though to be fair his family has an American background and lots of relatives live there) He watches fox news and always talks about how great it is and how great glenn beck and bill orriely are the best (however you spell that idiots name) and how Obama is going to be the end of the U.S and how he's raised the debt 3x and how none of it is george W bushes fault.

He's also a creationist and is a follower of Christianity yet he has read like not even half of the bible and he never goes to church. I mean I'm conservative but believe in many liberal values but he just goes way over the edge with absouletly everything. Anytime I argue with him he gets raged about it so I just let him yap about it. Me being atheist, pro choice, pro gay pro government runned health care seems incredibly hard for him to deal with.

I love my dad he's a really nice guy but I'd rather just look past his beliefs. I'd say if your mom likes to yap about it here is no point in arguing her down and just let her continue on with it.

well we have yet to see if your dad is right, however he is at least wrong about the debt being 3x what it was. As of right now it's just under double what is was when he took office.

Well my grandmother believes not only was Obama responsible for the oil spill, but he's intent on making sure Americans don't have jobs and suffer at his hatred-filled dictatorship. I just recognize that she's nuts, accept her money and chocolate, and go on with my day.

Adolf Hitler convinced an otherwise honest and good society that everyone else was evil and that Germans needed to invade other countries. George W Bush convinced good honest Americans that there was weapons of mass destruction and evil in other countries and that they had to be invaded. Looking at that you would think Bush was closer to Hitler than Obama. Truth be told, neither Obama nor Bush are like Hitler Your mom is just an idiot who's trying to associate someone with a villain to justify her own discriminating thoughts.

Maybe he his. Hitler took control because the people became dependent upon him. They supported him as long as they did because he made the weak dependent upon him andthat's why many people compareObama to Hitler We already know the weak out number the strong and we already know the weak are loyal to their dependencies so it's not completely off base to say that Obama is a potential reincarnation of Adolf Hitler it's a credible theory.

Well... if they keep moving them they won't be where we initially thought they were. That's provisions 101. You don't let your enemy capture your equipment. ESPECIALLY if you know they are coming for it.

Plus they want the U.S of their asses so they are gonna make sure we don't find it. We won't ever catch them read handed as long as we keep declaring where we are going and keep operating with one region. That just gives them plenty of warning far in advance and plenty of time to another region.

When Bush was in office the majority of the populus wasn't starving, they weren't on welfare, they didn't have government medical care. They weren't being conditioned to be dependent on their leader for basic necessities. The things that most people will kill anyonefor.

Oh well. What else is new? When Bush Jr. was president, he was depicted as Hitler and as a monkey. Now, it's Obama's turn. Quite frankly, those who do so are within First Amendment rights.

If the weak outnumber the strong, everyone on the winning side of a close race must be weak. The comparison drawn here means that (A) Obama's support derives from the weak and (B) the weak are loyal to Obama. In order for both to be true and stay in accords with the result of the election, everyone voting for Obama must have been weak, whether you said it or not. If history still serves me correct, a majority of Germans backed Hitler and he garnered much of the nation's support. That hasn't happened with Obama.. at all.

Oh don't worry, there's plenty of other ways I could entertain myself. I have list lying around here somewhere...

Anyway, I am happy to hear there are no hidden messages. My response was actually directed towards the clearly visible parts of your text.

Though it seems as if you're more into analyzing my tone of response rather than having an actual discussion involving your initial post. If that's the case, I'm glad neither of us care enough for the logic you concurred with to carry on about it. :)

Ah, finally. Someone interested in having actual discussion. :P

Electoral votes wise? You are correct. And when it comes to the US of A that's all that matters.

Here we're are drawing a comparison to the support of another figure. We can't use electoral votes, that'd be silly. We have to go by the popular vote.

When it comes to Obama and McCain, Obama won by what, six, seven percent? Compared to Hitler's popularity and his political rival, that number seems very, very small.

[QUOTE="MagnumPI"]Thereare no hidden messages in there. Everything you concluded is merely nothing more than you entertaining yourself. Or you're attempting to find some bait in order to geta good flame going.UCF_Knight

Then don't start stupid **** for giggles.

Tape her, put her on youtube.

I think the fact anyone thinks Obama is the anti christ invalidates him as the anti christ.

[QUOTE="surrealnumber5"]close race? there was nothing close about the 2008 election. UCF_Knight

Compared to Hitler's popularity and his political rival, that number seems very, very small.

not really, hitler did not get to his position by being a nice guy, Night of Broken Glass is the first thing that comes to mind.

You're right, he didn't. In fact he was given his position and had less than a third of the nation's support. :P So not only does our nation's election eliminate any comparisons between Obama and Hitler but so does Hitler's actions and personality.

And no, I'm not joking. She won't shut up about it either, all I'm hearing right now in the background is "the Anti-Christ is here" blahblahblah! I've tried everything I can to make her stop, but she won't. OT, what should I do? Earmuffs? Pillows? SOMETHING?

MasterBolt360
I think its silly your involving your mother in an OT discussion. If someone says something negative about her its your fault. :? You don't lower a family members status like that man. if anything you go to her and say "i understand how you feel but id rather not hear about it all the time"

Tell her she's a racist, and thus, she's more like Hitler than Obama is.

Jeez, I do something great and nobody cares. Crafty posting and trickery does nothing on this forum does it... Anyways, when it comes to electoral votes no it wasn't. When it comes to popular vote, everyone has a different idea of close. Either way I don't care about that. :P

if you look at the last two elections prior to obamas and compare the popular votes, obama still one by a landslide.

That's because US elections are two-horse races. German politics were infamous for having far too many parties. When you're only against one opponent, your chances of winning in a landslide are reduced.

so it's not completely off base to say that Obama is a potential reincarnation of Adolf Hitler it's a credible theory.

I realize this, but there was no German landslide..

My point was to get a certain someone to say how Obama's popularity and support rivaled that of Hitler's, when in fact, Hitler didn't have much support at all. His 'election' had him with less than a third of the nation's support, and he wasn't elected at all.

So I attempted to make someone say the evidence I'd use to defeat their own logic, but instead that poster stopped caring and someone else decided to go on about something else, and everyone else just became confused. :P
