"Another way of saying that is Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago."
Really Obama? I mean, really? 35 years ago you would have been getting suspended from school, caught with stolen jewelry, drinking lean, getting thrown out of your mother's house for acting wild, and referring to yourself as "no_limit_****a" online?
Puh-lease.

Way to read out of context dipshit.
Yeah. He saw your name plus the title and he assumed what your post would be. Very dishonest and silly. Not to mention wrong. Wouldn't bother replying to him again.[QUOTE="MrPraline"][QUOTE="DevilMightCry"] Not sure who you're talkin to, but I am in agreement with the President 100%. You obviously did not read, what I wrote or watch his speech. GreySeal9
If somebody saw my name and assumed my post would be racist, I'd be a little concerned TBH.
Your sig suggests that you are racist against hedgehogs. What do you mean?[QUOTE="Laihendi"][QUOTE="Flubbbs"]

a woman's baby was shot in the head by two thugs who robbed her, that were black
and the white red headed guy that was attacked and left to die in the middle of a highway by a group of 4 black men. One might say a modern day "lynching" of a white man. No one notices or cares gets no attention. No one even cares about everyday attrociies of black on black crime. thats sad too.I, for one, am completely shocked that the President is commenting on the current hot button topic. Shocked!
This topic is full of autism.
While the speech wasn't bad, the statement "Treyvon could've been me 35 years ago" is pandering and asinine.Â
I think Obama was quite brave to take up this topic in this manner. His speech acknowledges several uncomfortable realities that few want to talk about (black on black violence, racial profiling by law enforcement and civilians alike, and a historical record that can make Caucasians cringe as well as a crime rate that can make African Americans do the same). The lesser members of society will prove themselves such by being unable to contribute to these conversations. As for the rest of us, owning up to our individual and our society's failings can be infinitely valuable, even if one doesn't like the messengers.Chemistian

instead what we get are whatabouterries from people looking to release bile.
The President should only ever speak publicly about federal cases. Making a speech on state cases demeans his position.EagleEyedOneits his last term, he can do whatever the f*ck he wants. If this was his first term sadly he wouldn't have spoken on it. But f*ck it now

If I might add, the only thing that he should have done is stop this persecution of Zimmerman from DOJ, and Eric Holder. Which is unheard of from an administration. DevilMightCryNot only should the DOI stop "persecuting" Zimmerman, they should go after the New Black Panther Party and they should investigate allegations that the prosecution witheld exculpatory evidence in the Zimmerman trial.
Why does he take every opportunity to turn it into a discussion about himself?LJS9502_basic
A lot of politicans are like this. Bob Dole likes to talk about Bob Dole

I find it funny that white people have been bringing up what about black on black crime.Ya'll act like black people don't care about it cause you don't see rallies and meetings nationally televised. When black people kill they tend to get arrested on site, within hours or days .Ya'll bring up Chicago murder rate but I guarantee none of u legitimately give a f*ck about them.Bet if them Chi gangs make there way into the white areas and they start to kill some white people America would then start to care.Bucked20Black on black crimes are generally less serious than white on black, or white on white. White men are more likely to rape or commit genocide via AR-15. A black man just robs you.
I have no problem with Obama releasing this statement, people need to stop being so harsh about everything he does. He is a good President. AbstractRadicalI agree, he's trying to be like Clinton however he doesn't have the support of the house and senate which Clinton did. A lot of presidents wild out before making it big, Bush did coke, Clinton smoked weed and JFK loved, loved the women ( he even said just because your married doesn't mean you should stop messing around to his brother Ted). Problem is whether people like it or not it's blind eye racism a bit it's still a bit of an adjustment to see a man like that with that title. Regan talked a big game too like Obama even though a lot of companies were shutting down in 80's. For those of you calling him a terrible president name one thing that the previous president did better except make the rich richer and catalyst for this F'd up economy it was still functional when Bill Clinton was still in office I applaud him for speaking on this especially with internet warriors all ready to pounce he spoke from the heart. Black community has problems I agree I am big and black make everyone around me uncomfortable but I'm far from what you label a thug. However no one wants to understand why things in the community are so wrong, no one wants to help or intervene and things are so f'd up now people do try but no one listens. Trayvon sounds like the rebellious teen that needs to be humbled by a real world event. We are all wild at young age mostly, it sounds no different than the White kid who breaks curfew and wants to embrace "growing up". Tragic is what society has become.

People, including our president, need to stop talking about this case. It's no different from the dozens of other people that are killed everyday. Only in this case no crime was committed. Justice has been served. The president is just as influenced by our god awful media as everyone else. It's time to let this case die. ferrari2001Crimes may have been committed, against George Zimmerman. The New Black Panther Party called for his abduction back when the police had not charged Zimmerman, and the prosecutors seem to have illegaly witheld exculpatory evidence from Zimmerman's attorneys.

Agreed people need to spend less time talking about this and more time talking about Bob Dole. Bob Dole sure likes talking about Bob Dole. If Bob Dole had a son with a hispanic woman he could have been Zimmerman. Bob Dole.Â
People need to get over the Trevon Martin thing, the jury made the right call on their verdict.
I used to like CNN but they are getting ridiculous with this.
I think the juror who spoke out got it right, Martin lashed out at Zimmerman, was beating him up, Zimmerman feared for his life and shot him. Same thing any sane person would do to preserve their life.
The backlash against the juror is ridiculous and unwarranted, blame the laws not the juror.
Oh and by the way, Zimmerman is Hispanic in the same way Obama is considered black. So quit taking this out on white people.
So, did the Police "act stupidly" by prosecuting?
Edit: Pooey, police don't prosecute. My joke failed. :[

I just realised. If Hilter had a son with a Peruvian woman he would be just like George Zimmerman. Where did the nazis hide after WW2? South America! OMG mind blown Zimmerman is basically Hitler's son. Prove me wrong or else I'm going to start talking about Bob Dole again.Â

I moreso see people pointing out how many people in the black community emphasize white on black crime than black on black crime, which occurs more often. People just want some consistency even if they say so in dickish manner, and as a black person myself, I want consistency too.

That's because the perpetrators were arrested and charged, there was no question of whether or not it was self-defense, so there's nothing to talk about. The news is in the business of selling entertaining stories. The Zimmerman/Martin story was about a corrupt criminal justice system letting a murderer off the hook because his victim is black. That is an entertaining story, that's why people were talking about it on internet forums and blogs and such. Thugs shooting a baby in the face is NOT an entertaining story. They got arrested and charged with first degree murder.
