Specifically what would you think of Obama if it was his administration pulled off getting the middle east to agree to peace? Granted even I think this is unlikely, but what would you guys say about it and him?

Personally I would find it to be a truly amazing accomplishment given the history of that area of the world.

keep in mind that this is a hypothetical so ifhe did what would you think?

Clinton got Jordan and Israel peace treaty. and he got damn near close with Yassir Arafat (to whom i blame for saying no to possibly the greatest deal the Palestinians could of hoped for). I do not think it is impossible. and i knew Obama would make it a high priority when on DAY THREE he sent George Mitchell down there to start shuttle diplomacy between the parties. of all recent American Presidents, this is the one who so far has been diligently following it and pursuing it. If he achieves it, and it sticks, he rightfully earns his mark in history....

I hope that can get something done.

He'd still get jeers from the Right, though. That man could find a cure for AIDS, Cancers, andall childhood diseases and he'd still get called un-American kitten crusher.

We have to start with a two state solution for palistine, and unfortunately I doubt any US president would support that. But just because it's tough doesn't mean we shouldn't be trying to attain peace all the time.

it'd be a big deal.. but i don't see it as something anyone in the west can do.. until the people over there want to get their ---- together and actually agree to things, not much will change and there isn't much a us president can do.

I would be suprised, but the right will say he's anti Israel since he talked to terrorists and all that other BS. Funny though, most who are "pro Israel" want them to keep fighting. But all in all it would be a good sign for the region.

First we'd have to do what happened in Iraq to every other Middle Eastern nation. Invade it and give the people of those lands USA related shills for them to vote for as their officials so that those shills can seemingly agree with American policy. Iran is next

so until this happens to all/most of the major ME nations, it wont happen. Yet....

Why speculate on things that will never happen? Every president for the past 50 years has tried to work toward peace in the middle east.
