thx guys. although id appreciate some more power metal? ( most of these bands i listened to already and didn't think they were "good" enough :P )

LastResortCooki

Try some Firewind and Dream Evil, if you like those then try some Iced Earth. A lot of people seem to like Eduy as well so try them.

[QUOTE="shoot-first"]

Iron Maiden

Judas Priest

Black Sabbath

Iced Earth

Celtic Frost

Slayer

Exodus

LastResortCooki

I tried most of those bands but didn't really like them...Im gona try celtic frst and exodus now though :)

How could you not like Iced Earth? :o

I strongly recommend Armored Saint's Symbol of Salvation and Raising Fear albums, as well as Amon Amarth's With Oden on Our Side.

And don't forget Nevermore. I recommend The Politics of Ecstasy to begin with them.

I don't recall him mentioning Hammerfall, so I'd recommend them for power metal along with Dreamland, which I don't think was mentioned either.

Please don't listen to Dragonforce.-Apathy-
Ever since I saw Caedus refer to Dragonforce as lolforce, I can't help but read their name that way. My mind substitutes the latter for the former invariably.

I would have included them...but the TC said he dosn't care for DM...so I just included (What I find to be) the few most tolerable DM bands for a begginer:P

Yet you included Opeth :P Personally I'd say Ensiferum have a lighter mood than Opeth, The Wanderer and Lady in Black would be good suggestions for people who don't like harsh vocals :)

Opeth are a very hard band to place. You can't just lump them in the DM category.

Hell yeah dude, Suffocation is awesome! I was thinking about suggesting them, but I'm not sure if he'd like 'em since they're pretty brutal and he's sorta just testing those waters at the moment, haha.

But Ensiferum isn't really DM anyway, it's more Folk/Viking/Battle metal with harsh vocals, and the vocals are kinda between DM and BM as well.

Maybe it's because they waste their fan's money and get wasted on stage so they can't put on a decent show.

*sigh* Not that into the Metalcore scene... But it's still Metal. Anyway, Darkest Hour is a Melodic Death Metal/Metalcore band so they for sure are real metal.

[QUOTE="-Absinthe-"]Yeah, they're one of my favourite bands, your the first person I've seen on GS who listens to them.

They're from my country so it's no wonder I know them.

Edit: I've actually seen them live.

I quite like what I've heard of Moonspell :D, I should be seeing them live at a festival this summer too (Bloodstock, if you've heard of it Absinthe)

I have indeed. I went to see them last year, when they were touring with Cradle of Filth, Gorgoroth, Septic Flesh and Asrai :D
