So why do Muslims keep jumping over this post so much?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I actually have a Quran in English translation (admittely I have not read the entire thing) and I recall Muhammed saying he had a vision and asked his best pal if he could have her hand in marriage.
The girl was still playing with dolls at the time and she was married to him BEFORE menstrel cycle (which goes against Islam belief entirely) and it is said that he consemated his marriage with her (sex) a few years later when she still didn't menstrate yet.
This would put her at the age of about 8 or 9 and Muhammed was around 50. I base this off of my own reading and research, I am no expert of Islam. However I think I have a pretty accurate view of this scenario.
And no child marriages weren't common back then, it's even considered a sin in the origional text (The Torah) to do so, it's considered a sexual perversion which goes against the Noahide laws. And Muhammed was supposed to be familiar with the origional texts, despite the fact the he could not read nor write.
Again I am NOT anti-Islam. There are good Muslims, however there are some legitiment concerns and questions about Muhammed himself. Are you sure he was the noble man you think he was?
