Algebra as a distinct discipline didn't develop until the Islamic Golden age, though mathematicians did use algebraic systems to solve problems before that, most were done in geometric way.

yeah algebra was fun too.. exponentials were ok.. statistics was easy.. I just hated quadratics and matrices and those fun stuff >_>

well depends, I was prety bad at both, but geometry was still easyer beacose you could imagine the difrent object in your head and work with that, with algebra you just got numbers -.- and I really really hated the whole sin, cos and tg thing.I still don't know the relations betwen them...
