Most women who do it, do it because they enjoy it and get paid loads of money for it. I myself don't particularly find the idea of watching a woman undress appealing but if they enjoy it who am I to say otherwise?foxhound_fox
I agree with that. I'm quite certain some who strip do it because they want or because they need to as in a 'job'.
Don't forget that there is also a market for male stripping. it might not be as commonplace as female stripping, but let's not act like it doesn't happen.
Personally, I think what I think doesn't matter. I think what the girls think matters.
If they do it because they enjoy it, then that's great. There's nothing quite like enjoying your job. If they do it because it's an easy way to make money, not so good - but they wouldn't be the only people working a (potentially degrading) job they hate because they need the cash.
I think the naked female form is the most artful thing in the world, but as soon as you make it a business it becomes anything but.
Anyway, yeah. What they think is what matters. Not what I think.
The exploitation works both ways. Women are being treated as sex objects, and lonely/insecure men are being exploited for cash. But in the end, it's the men who CHOOSE to go there. No one drags them there on a leash (they may get dragged on a leash once they get there, but that's a different story).
Some women love the job; others hate it and leave as soon as their finances improve or when they find an ideal husband. I don't like to see women being taken advantage of, and at the same time, there are plenty of women who get off on the attention and cash.
I can see how some people would call it art. But whether you're there to "appreciate" the dance, or are reading Penthouse with a flashlight under the covers, the end result is the same...the guy messes his pants.

It's funny because this is absolutely true. Most people say it exploits women, while they don't look at how men are exploited aswell. I work with a guy who constantly goes to strip clubs and throws God knows how much cash away because he thinks the strippers like him. We don't really have the heart to tell him the truth.
If anything it's the exploitation of men and our foolish willingness to part with money so easily just for a pair of boobies.domatron23Haha that's true.. as for the women.. it's whatever they want it to be but most of them are just in it for the monies.

Well said, my thoughts exactly.
I don't think stripping is good for the morale of a woman, she might enjoy it at one point of her life then look back on it and regret it. Though people make mistakes not much you can do about it.123625
i agree that later on in life it'll be a big regret
but not good for the morale? how can having several men a night throw cash at you not be good fro morale, if ever as a woman you want to feel wanted try stripping to drunk men...
I've never been to a strip club, so I only have the perspective that Hollywood offers.
...
So, I can't really make a judgement, though if I had a daughter, I feel like I would disapprove.

I didn't know colleges take one dollar bills =D
And if they did how come i never get a smart lap dance huh?
They get paid...other than tips.
If they want to do it....why not, it's their choice. It's a job, just like any other. Those that are able to stand working like that probably don't have too many problems with it. Unless of course it's like the last possible thing available...then it might be dfficult.

Take it you haven't seen any Chris Rock stand up shows? those phrases are from there.
Wiis will start turning on gamers when women start stripping for their wii's. Any of you OT'ers gonna get this when it comes out?
Will all of you anti-strippers think less of the girls who get this? I bet you'll be knocking down their doors on launch day to sneak a peek :P
I've been to strip clubs a few times and make no mistake, women choose to be there and enjoy themselves mostly. If either sex is being exploited it is the males. I don't think it's degrading at all nor do I see why it would be. Many women strip for their partners and I don't think the fact that strippers are payed to do it is of any consequence at all.
As a point of interest, the first time I went to the strippers a mate of mine got a lap dance with this one stunning 21 year old and after the lap dance she actually sat down with us and we had a pretty long chat with her about why she became a stripper, how it affected her life and what her parents/friends thought about her becoming a stripper. By the end of it I wanted to ask her out but thought better of it.

Let me put it this way. Glamorous pornography is much more of an art and self expression form than stripping. In glamorous pornography, the body is the star. The body is the heart of the picture. Stripping is much more about sexual tension.
Stripping is like dancing, going to a party, having a concert where you are the center of it all. I would consider it a more of a hobby, like gaming. Strippers just get money for doing it.
I bet that female strippers outnumber male strippers to a great number. Someone very close to me used to strip and they dont do it because of the money. They do it because of something that happened in their life. When they experience something or have a childhood of sme sort they resort to they way they grew up and have an abnormal life style. They do it for the money but if they were in it for the money they can go else where ad get 3X more. I have never been to a strip club and I really dont like wasting my money on people esp someone whos just teasing me so im all set with that.
personally if a woman chooses to work in a strip club the ones being most exploited are the men that pay for a fantasy but don't really every get any. remember that in a strip club the stripper decides a lot of stuff and if they don't like what you're doing they can get the bouncer to toss you out.
One time when I was intoxicated a stripper tried to rip me off $80. She kept going after the song stopped, for about four more songs even when I tried to leave. She then told me I owed her $80 for the four dances she did. I Told her too bad, gave her $20 and got the hell out of there. But the things she did... I can see why married people go there. No self respecting woman would do things that nasty, it is awesome.
Strippers = A+
Hookers = F
some women enjoy that sort of attention. i dont see why they shouldnt be able to make money for it. its not quite the same, but one of my friends loved working at hooters because everybody was so nice to her. :lol:
besides, it takes two to tango. there still have to be men willing to pay to see their awesome bewbage. if theres a market for it, somebody will supply the product.
How exactly is it a "beautiful" form of self-expression? You make it sound like strippers are mute and can't express themselves or don't have limbs to move with and do other things and the only way for them to express themselves is through stripping.
To me, it's degrading for both men and women and people are treated as objects when they agree to do that for money.

I know right? Satisfying your basest desires and turning it into a form of art is absolutely disgusting. Like cooking. Or even music.
