Cultures differ though. As do people (along with time and the various changes that come with it).

Point is, there's no universal standard for what the acceptable age is (barring pre-puberty stages of course). It's just what each individual society decides on what should constitute as the norm (even if it may not completely align with people on an individual level).

It's not my intent to defend anything. But it's for like reasons I think it's kind of pointless to argue over what's correct.

Objectively I would stand by it, perhaps more so since according to studies women mature faster (mentally) than men.

With that said, subjectively I would have more of a problem with it: losing one's virginity as a girl is not only an emotional thing, but physical as well. Furthermore, men and women view sex differently a lot of the time and it means more to women (i.e. there is a spiritual connection to it, not just for fun...though that happens too). Anyway I am going to stop since I am generalizing and will get labeled as a sexist, but that's just been my experience. Men are like "Woooo that was fun, let's go get some tacos" and women are generally "Wow, that was amazing. I feel a bond with you"

But yeah, if it's consensual, you won't hear much complaining from me. Not saying it's right, I just don't think it's something to ruin someone's life over is all.

A man is programmed to have sex with as many women as possible, for a 13 year old boy to have sex with a beautiful woman is the dream.

This is possibly the best example of TRUE sexism in modern society. This woman is a pedophile. A sexual predator. Pretty disturbing to hear how okay this all is to a lot of people. If it were an older man and a 13yr old girl the tune would be very different. I very much doubt people would be talking about "how lucky she was". Come on guys, show some decency. It was an abuse of trust an abuse of authority and an abuse of the law. I have been 13 and I know 13 year olds and although they might be more than happy to consent to the physically exciting act of sex they are children and are not intimately aware of the reprecussions of their actions. Its also far too young for them to deal with the negative reprocussions of their actions which is why we as a society have a responsibility to protect minors from adult situations.

The reason the law exists isnt to simply inhibit intercourse. It exists so a 13 year old doesnt father a child and ruin his own life. Its so that hypothetical child doesnt grow up with a teenager for a dad. Do we think the 13 year old kid in this story was thinking about that whilst having sex with his teacher....I very much doubt it. Because he is 13. Hence the law.

I don't find it disturbing that they're having a relationship. The thing/s that irk me is the fact that they had sex (and, god, she was a teacher! How did she end up being one?) and the parents supported it (did the parents even know they were having sex?).
