If you're not with the one you love, then love the one you're with.

BluRayHiDef

What?

Garfield isn't the actor you prefer, but just accept him because you have no choice.

She has a choice not to watch the film......you are wrong again. lol

You find Spiderman 2 the best? I personally find it the worst one. In my opinion: Spiderman 1 was great, Spiderman 2 was boring, and Spiderman 3 was okay'ish

Spider man 2 was the best. 3 Was bad because it tried to do way too much and failed. 1 was alright. I will see this one. Will see how reviews go. It can be a good one.

Reboot of a reboot that is barely a decade old. Not at all interested. Won't even entertain watching it regardless of how good people say it is.

I've only seen what OP posted, and other than a passing reference to Dr. Connors there didn't seem to be a lot of implication to that.

Damn, that is the Lizard I guess. So who the hell was the villain in the green metal suit with the tail? I thought that was Lizard for some reason.

You disagree with me all the time, but I still speak to you. I've got no grudge against you. As for MrPraline, I have no grudge against him either. My refusal to speak to him is solely a joke; I simply want him to switch his avatar back to the one featuring the cat so that I can go back to cracking (friendly) jokes.

RoccoHout

WARNING! SPIDERMAN 2 SPOILERS!

I think Spiderman 2 is the best in the trilogy because it presents a superhero - Spiderman - as a normal person with personal problems PERFECTLY. The way it portrays Peter Parker's troubles with Mary Jane, the truth regarding his involvement in Uncle Ben's death, and his struggles with his acadmics is fantastic. Furthermore, the ending is simply brilliant; Mary Jane's realization that Peter is Spiderman was great to watch. It made the film all too perfrect. When you consider these aspects of the film, it's no wonder that Spiderman 3 didn't compare; the bar that Spiderman 2 set was too high. Oh, yea, let's not forget about the performance of all of the actors.

Why the hell are they rebooting Spiderman already?

I'm so sick of Spiderman. I hope it flops just to punish the money-grubbers at Marvel trying to milk it to death.

I don't see how that's the case since the trailers actually show The Lizard...numerous times.

Why would Marvel do that? Normally the answer is for more money, but Spiderman has a massive fan base and is a sure money maker no matter how bad the outcome see Spiderman 3. Also, this gives me even less faith for any new movies made today, how long will it be until they decide to remake/reboot/re-imagine any film released today?! With old films being re-released in 3-D, and the over abundance of remakes/prequels/sequels/CGI kid flicks, the originality and quality of Hollywood is going further down the shi***r.

This was done way before they had the financial backing to self-finance their own films. I believe that's the reason Sony has the film rights to Spider-Man and Ghost Rider, and Fox has the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies.

I'm kinda excited. I like Spiderman, but my guess is that the 2002 film will still be my favorite. The thing I find weird is that this new Spidey-movie is being released on July 3, I think they should've released it in May on the tenth anniversary of the first Tobey Maguire Spider-man movie (which was released on May 3 2002).

The current release date will work very well for them this way. The only other movie that would have been any real competition against Spider-Man was G.I. Joe 2, but Paramount pulled it at the last second to shoot more scenes and convert the movie to 3D. It almost guarantees them a good opening holiday weekend.

Had they opened it the anniversary of the 2002 film, they would've opened against The Avengers, and that would have been box office suicide for Sony. Avengers had big name actors in the cast, a reconizeable name attached to direct, and a MASSIVE promotional push.

For The Amazing Spider-Man--not so much. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield aren't excatly huge draws, a director whose ability to direct an action film is unknown, and most surprisingly, not a whole lot of promotional pushing leading to the release.

Could be. But then again the film is about Spidey, also known as the "web slinger".

Marvel sold the movie rights for various of their characters to a few different movie studios over a decade ago. They were having financial troubles, and desperately needed the money. This is different from the present day, where Marvel had bounced back enough to start producing their own films, specifically Iron Man, Thor, Avengers, etc.

Anyway, Sony has had the Spider-Man movie rights for quite a long time now. The reason that Sony is rebooting the Spidey movies is because of their contract. If they don't make a Spider-Man movie after x number of years, the rights automatically go back to Marvel. No way Sony is gonna let a cash cow like Spidey movies go so easily, hence the new movie.

Long story short, Marvel was desperate and sold the rights ages ago, Sony are the ones milking us to death with Spider-Man films.

I want to be excited for it, I love the Spider-Man comics. But from what I've seen in the trailers this film just doesnt do it for me. Maybe the whole thing will be good, but the kid playing Spidey with his gigantic head and weird suit just leave me unexcited.

There are some things in this movie that make me excited to see it but there are some drawbacks that make me unsure. Spider-Mans costume has just a little too much blue in it for me. Spider-Man was more red in his costume. I'm glad that they're including web shooters and his parents into the mix. But I hope his obsession to find out about his parents isn't something that goes for the next spidedy movies. I have several questions like "will mary jane ever be in these movies? "When will they introduce J. Jonah Jameson and who will play him?" The way Andrew Garfield looks sorta has some resemblence to Edward Cullen which doesn't at all make me happy. The original spider-man movies almost felt like they stook close to the 60's comics in terms of campiness. I'm glad to see that the new movie is taking a much more serious approach. I'm gonna see it though.

Hopefully they do have Jameson. He adds a lot to Spider-man, the two of them together are so funny.

I wonder who'll play Jameson in this Spiderman film (series). The guy that played Jameson in the last trilogy was so great, I don't think he can be outdone. At best, we should expect to be disappointed.
