The Dark Knight Rises! Box Office update, 160 million opening weekend!

I seriously thought "The Caped Crusader" but it feels a little hokey for this.Travo_basic

It seems way too soon to be thinking of a reboot, but I'm sure we'll see one in five years. Maybe DC should focus on their other properties, instead of just Superman and Batman. That's one area where I give Marvel the edge, brand recognition. How many DC characters are the general public familiar with as opposed to Marvel?

That is pretty cool, but it seems doubtful it will eclipse The Avengers (Lack of 3D sales alone could take away millions, much longer running tme..) If it did succeed at beating The Avengers, that would be wonderful, of course.Travo_basic

I went to see The Amazing Spiderman in hopes of catching one of the trailers on the big screen. I was sorely disappointed. Spiderman was good, but feels like a prelude to the main event. An appetizer before dinner.Travo_basic

How could I? There wasn't a single moment when the the theater employees weren't looking. On top of that, there was dozens of fans' eyes on it at all times. Besides, we weren't able to get up close to them. They knew.

I strenuously disagree. The 3D in prometheus added depth to certain scenes, and made others pop out of the screen. It was well worth the money, in my opinion. I saw it three times in IMAX 3D, but for the price of only two viewings (during matinee hours - $13.00 per ticket). As for TDKR, I don't mind that it won't be available in 3D.
