Trust me you'll get over her.
I had a crush on a girl from elementary school till college and she means nothing to me now...

I once had a mad crush on this one girl. But then she got sentenced to a fairly long prison term after stabbing her mother to death a couple of dozen times with a knife while mom was sleeping. So...I sort of got over that crush pretty quickly.

Sorry but that made me lol:lol:
Yeah the girl I was talking about turned out to be so incredibly absorbed in self-pity that I just came to hate her. Not sure what had happened to her over the years for her to get like that....
She was also semi-stalkerish over this male figure skater which was creepy...

If he had screws loose then he would have been turned on by that:lol:
[QUOTE="MrGeezer"]...you've got a few screws loose, huh? Hot girls commit crimes too. :P I don't know, after reading the TC's story I get the hunch that a lot these seem to be based on physical attraction...or it's an important point. Man, I sure could use a new love interest...but the quarter system goes by too quickly to meet anybody in college.I once had a mad crush on this one girl. In all honesty, the fact that I'm even thinking about her right now is probably pretty ****ed up. She seemed to be really sweet and kind. That is, apparently, to everyone except her mom. If I were to meet her tomorrow night, I'd probably want to at least hang out with her at the bar, buy her a few beers, and catch up on old times. I'd probably be at least a little bit creeped out, but I think I'd go hang out with her. Sure she made some mistakes, but that's why pencils have erasers.

I've been friends with many girls without any sort of secret agenda, and I still found it funny. That does seem applicable to the situation at hand, but I sort of take offense to the implicit suggestion. The implicit suggestion that the only reason that a man would ever really want to be "just friends" with a woman is because he secretly wants to have sex with her.
MrGeezer
It implies that men are scheming conniving little bastards that you really can't trust.
...
And is it THAT hard to believe that a straight man can ACTUALLY just want to be friends with a woman, and not have any intention of making nefarious plans to eventually have sex with her?
MrGeezer
You mean we aren't?
Anyways, the comic doesn't imply anything. It merely says that some people can't stand rejection and therefore hide their attraction under a veil of platonic love, not that platonic love does not exist.
You shouldn't take the "marry you later" statement seriously. Girls say silly things. There isn't much you can do other than wait; your infatuation will dissipate eventually, and you will realise then that it was only infatuation after all.
I suppose you could distance yourself from her; emotionally, that is. You can't lose the feelings you have for her in one aftertoon, but you may be able to turn those feelings into something else. The easiest way out would be to start hating her and despising her for tormenting you. You could end up bitter about it in the long run, but hating her will definitely relieve you of some torment.
