Uhh... you are serious? There WAS a lot of charity, and also, not many Americans died, almost none compared to Haiti. Not to take anything away from good deeds here but does anyone else find it a little disturbing and sad that Americans are so much more willing to help other countries out than their fellow Americans? There wasn't this kind of charity during 9/11. :?

Think ill give some Haiti comic relief. Don't click if you easily offended and can't take a joke! :x
A haitian walks into a bar... It collapses! Ba dum dish.
Imagine if the money being spent on aid had been spent on building proper infastructure.

Haiti would regain its structural stability at the expense of a higher death toll due to even more frequent rates of preventable diseases contracted via wounds from debris, hunger, thirst, and lack of adequate rescue equipment to save trapped citizens.

lol in 9/11 3,000 people died and 2 buildings in new york went down (along with some other small ones)
in Haiti 120,000 people died and millions are now homeless... kinda diferent hey?
And when I think of the 250,000 people killed on the tsunami in 2004 and then almost nothing of this kind was organized to help those people so I ask you to donate what you can.
I already donated here from Portugal.
Come on lets help a fellow country. :)
Holy crud! I can't believe how many channels it is on. I don't think I can ever recall so many channels carrying the same program. I'm not going to watch, I've already donated, but I think it's pretty cool. For all our faults in the US, and they are many, Americans are quite charitable when the situation presents itself. I like when we are known for our compassion, as opposed to other things.

LOL here in Portugal we are 10 millions and in 3 days after the quake we donated 800,000 €
It is now in the millions and we are not nearly as rich as you.
What do you call that?
So it's now a race to see which country sends the most money? ..And here i was thinking it was to help people. :roll:I think people complain too much about celebrities using their money and their name to promote a cause. It may be a big ego thing and getting publicity, but if the money is for a good cause then what is the big deal? I don't care who donates the money, as long as it donated for a good reason. These celebrities are using their name to raise money, and if that is partly for publicity who cares? I am glad that a bunch of egotistical celebrities craving publicity use their name to give money to people who need it. We think we know these celebrities sometimes because of what they have done in the past or various interviews and such, but they are just people who happen to make a crap load of money. While they are making tons of money they may as well use some of it for a good cause. Here we are arguing over which country donates the most money, and how people in America need money too, which disaster caused more lives to be lost, and how celebrities use their name too much. Jesus they are using their name in a good way they aren't coming to your house and stealing your wallet.
All of this makes me think what we could acheive by giving just a litle bit to those countryes in real need...
Just an example: what most of you americans have a stereotype that muslims are terrorists and all sourts of bad things... Did you know that in arab countries until modern days it was the LAW to donate 5 to 10% of the peoples incomes to the poor and homeless? Just think about that for a sec. ;)
Dont you think the world would be much better?

I agree with you on this.. but what i don't get is why they don't do it more often. They shouldn't have to wait for a massive disaster with media coverage to use there influence to help people.I think people complain too much about celebrities using their money and their name to promote a cause. It may be a big ego thing and getting publicity, but if the money is for a good cause then what is the big deal? I don't care who donates the money, as long as it donated for a good reason. wow you guys are disgusting. people are helping people in need and all you seem to care about is the benefits they get out of it themselves. thats like saying soldiers dont deserve our respect because they get paid for their job and might have fun doing it.lloveLampYeah, but what do you expect? People just like to be critical of those who have achieved a great deal of success, hell, I'm guilty of it, but we need to learn to accept the fact that not every rich person or celebrity out there donating has an ulterior motive. If I had that kind of media power, I would sure as hell use it to bring to light various world problems that need fixing, but until now, let those who can, do it.....
