Now kids have to grow up with crap like Bakugan and all these weird shows like Di Gata Defenders :|

Tiefster

What the heck are those?! Though I'm sure it aint as bad as Johnny Test or Teen Titans.....

Johnny Test sounds like a total rip of Johnny Quest (which was awesome)

Ha, i remember Johnny Quest. I used to stay up extra late just to watch shows like that and Scooby-doo when i was like 3 years old. My mom actually gave me and taught me how to operate the T.V. at that age. Man, Scooby-doo where are you? is in my top 5 cartoons of all time. I hate the new cartoons and movies :.

For some reason it censored c-l-a-s-s-i-c.

OMG do any of you remember Johnny Bravo? That show was so freaking awesome :lol:Kikouken

I loved that show! though I really felt sad for Johnny. He never gets the ladies even when he's trying to be a good person:(

On second thought, maybe it's for the best that Ren and Stimpy was cancelled, I watched some videos of it on Youtube and that might be a little traumatizing for kids. Selling rubber nipples to homocidal horses, lol.

Probably not as awful as Johnny Test and Back at the Barnyard. What's the next logical step? Children feeding on lead chips?

Everything has pretty much gone to crap these days with Western cartoons. In the early to mid nineties you had a huge selection of wonderful shows that were not only fun to watch but taught you something. Early Simpsons, Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Angry Beavers, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey! Arnold, etc, etc, etc. I am so thankful that I was a kid growing up during that time.

Loony Toons, Tom and Jerry, The Adventures of Johnny Quest, Scooby Doo, were all awesome and still are awesome. Anyone remember The Pink Panther, I dont mean the movie I mean the real Panther that was pink. (well as real as an animated panther can be)

Spongebob is retarded every time I hear character from that POS of a show talk I loose a few IQ points.

EDIT: Oh yeah and I have to mention The Flintstones and The Jetsons.

I've thought that for quite a while, but figured it was just a case of "in my day, ---- was better..."

Yeah, most of these shows don't even compare to good old Looney Toons, but then those weren't actually targetted at kids either...

Oh, and let's not forget all the Disney shows that used to be on the Fox network. Those and Tiny Toons and Animaniacs...those were all classic.

it's all this stupid japanese crap. the cartoon network is littered with it. plus disney is just god awful in my opinion. they find some of the best stories and then completely ruin them by rewritting them and adding in stupid pointless characters and a script that's just pure.......STUPID. Give me transformers! Give me G. I. Joe! Give me the original bugs bunny and original disney in all their racial stereotype glory. The last time I saw any golden age cartoon used in a way that was fitting their original roles was Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Exactly what I was thinking.. They have so many crappy cartoons now..
And on Nickelodeon can't remember what day but at like 9:30 - 11pm they had the greatest shows on such as Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, CatDog, Ahh! Real Monsters etc..
I miss the original Rugrats..
They got rid of late night DBZ and replaced it for Naruto
My older sister grew up with Hey Arnold and Rocko and what she use to do was sit me down and she told me "you have to watch these shows they are much better then most of the crap you watch" and I agreed with her..

Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls, Courage the cowardly dog, Johnny Bravo.. These were the original "Cartoon Cartoon"...Takashi_7

Hey, what about Doug...before they ruined it?

I believe young kids are being cheated out of the cartoon experience you have when growing up, all they have to watch are horrible, unentertaining shows (sry I cant think of any off the top of my head, but next time you watch TV turn to a kids chanell and you'l know what I mean) They never got to experience the golden age of cartoons. I cant imagin how bad the shows will be in 10 years. Anyone agree?/Disagree?EVOLV3

Aliens: The Animated Series.

That would ****ing ROCK.

Hell, even in the movie Aliens, nearly ALL of the deaths were off-screen. And the only person who was gorily dismembered was a ROBOT, and he didn't even die.

And yet that's still arguably the best movie of the series, despite being almost completely free of human gore.

So yeah...Aliens: The Animated Series.

It'd be the ****ing bomb.

And the kids watching these "crappy" cartoons today will say the exact same thing about kids and cartoons in ten years from now. It's just how it works.megagene
In short, more so than not, classic example of "generation gap."

I mean, from my experience, I know I was hearing the SAME EXACT THING when I was young, from the previous generations.

All I can say is Thank God for the DVD format. At least I'm still able to watch SOME of the toons I grew up with...although some of these studios need to start releasing some of these toons for the home video market, such as Tiny Toon Adventures and Ghostbusters to name a couple.

Johnny Bravo (my favorite 8) ), Invader Zim (my other favorite 8) ), Angry Beavers ( another favorite 8) ), Doug, Hey Arnold (this show actually taught kids lessons and EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER was interesting), Reboot (didn't watch much), Dexters Lab, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Aaaah Real Monsters, Rugrats, 2 Stupid Dogs (come on guys, you remeber this show) Ed, Edd, and Eddy. I'm only 15 but I watched all these shows when I was younger. Great thread TC, brings back a lot of memories.

THESE SHOWS SUCK THOUGH: Fairly Odd Parents, Ying Yang Yo (didn't even need to watch it to tell that it sucked), Spongebob, Danny Phantom, Barnyard (o mah gawd :x ), Atomic Betty, Naruto, Camp Lazlo (horrible drawings), You know what, I can't even think of all the shows because pretty much all new cartoons SUxX0r

Samurai Jack was the bomb even tho they sorta dragged it out alittle. Indeed i feel cartoon shows today are very lacking in what we used to have same with Disney Movies alot these days suck compared to ones years ago.

Well, to be fair, nostalgia plays some part in your liking of older cartoons as opposed to the newer ones. The quality hasn't really changed.
