[QUOTE="pie-junior"][QUOTE="m25105"]Looks like the film was funded by IsraelGazaAlilol no hurrr durrr. ?
I suggest you do some more research www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/09/14/nakoula-filmmaker-prophet-muhammad.html www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/13/anti-islamic-film-us-nakoula actually read the information, despite your reflexes which might tell you to blame Israel/Jews for everything.Looks like the film was funded by Israel, the actors had no clue what it was about and told it was about Egypt 2000 years ago and then dubbed over. This film was intentionally made to provoke a people that take their faith serious for no other reason than to rile people up against them so they won't feel sorry for little Salma (who by the way will never get aired on TV) when she gets her legs blown off when the bombs hit.

I believe that what many fail to realize is that religion, generally speaking, can become a form of nationalist/racial pride. I do not know the exact word for such forms of pride, if someone can help me pick the word. In the middle east, I believe its not about the religion itself anymore, since many many Muslims do not really practice the teachings of Islam. You know that a religion has taken this route when you see its supposed followers defend it with the complete opposite of its teachings.GazaAliI think its really just that criticism of religion is just more developed in the west, society in the Middle East is also built on Islam. Im wondering, whats the general attitude towards athiests over there?
What contribution have those country's made to the world? seahorse123you mean the Middle East? really up until 500 years ago or so, the Middle East was a centre of culture and science.

[QUOTE="seahorse123"]What contribution have those country's made to the world? Jebus213I'n recent history? Oil.... Or western country's use them for oil... lol I would love to see there faces when it runs out and western country's won't have to suck up to them all the time lol
Meh, westerns exploiting our cultural tendencies and calling it 21 century.
We don't tolerate personal insults and thats about it... just like how Japanese were taught to never surrender...
If you're gonna insult someone I love im gonna kick your ass... and thats the mentality that has always been part of the Arabic culture and extended with Islam, which islam hate mongers usually love to use to stir some sh!t in the world.
Even back in highschool, almost all the fights happened because someone insulted someone's else mom or something.
There is no deep hidden roots behind this human behavior: You hurt someone I love, ill kick your ass ... and no, not a lot of Muslims have developed western habits of "shrugging it off".

I do agree with you, its rooted in all of us middle eastern not to tolerate insult. Though there are far more better ways to shut these people up, like boycotting goods from Denmark for example. The Arabian gulf is such a huge market for consumerism due to wealth and oil. If the Arabian gulf alone boycotted Denmark for example back in the days, they would have begged us for forgiveness.Meh, westerns exploiting our cultural tendencies and calling it 21 century.

All in all, its really a shame and embarrassment what happened to diplomatic delegations in the middle east because of this. Regardless, keep alienating us and sh!t will eventually blow up and hit us all.GazaAliNice to know you fall in line with this kind of thinking and actions. Why am I not surprised.

If the movie's purpose was to exploit the idea that Islam is a violent religion, it succeeded. IMO, until Muslims are capable of seeking alternatives to violence every time someone insults them, the cycle will continue to perpetuate itself. the_ChEeSe_mAn2What I dont understand is that it was some obscure filmmaker that made this film. It's not like the government of the US ordered it or sanctioned it. They had nothing to do with it. People in the US have the freedom to express their thoughts and ideas regardless of who's feelings may get hurt. Some random dude making a film should not be sparking this kind of outrage. If the prophet Mohammed was insulted by this filmmaker, I'm sure that the all powerful Allah will take care of matters in the afterlife. No need to start attacking people and burning down buildings.
[QUOTE="sonicare"]have the freedom to express their thoughts and ideas regardless of who's feelings may get hurt.MrPralineDefinitely. Those are our values though, not theirs. True, their values include shooting a rocket up every Western infidel's ass. rofl.
